Looking great! Now that you have a router and a flush cutting bit, you can save yourself some effort when trimming the oversized bits down. Instead of laboriously sanding them to match, just run the router with the bearing on the flush cutting bit rolling along the side you want to trim down to. You could also have used the router with a different bit to cut the wiring channel in the top instead of grinding it with the Dremel. I just found your channel today, and I've watched all of your layout build videos up to here. I'm really impressed with how well your layout looks. I'm also planning on doing an Inglenook layout, and I just hope mine ends up looking half as good as yours. Thanks for the info and the inspiration!

Thanks very much! That is a good tip on the flush cutter, I'll have to try that out. Will save me some sanding work! I'm glad you have enjoyed the videos. I'm sure yours will look great once it's done!

An excellent job!!! I discovered your channel yesterday afternoon and just watched all your videos. They really are a crash course in model building, for those of us who like maneuvering above all else. I hope to see new videos of your careful details to complete the model including that beautiful protective box. I hope you enjoy it for many years!!! 👍 👋👋👋😊

Thank you, it is always nice to hear when people enjoy my videos. I think there's still a few episodes left until it is all complete. And yes... the idea with this is to make it easy to store, use and service so that it doesn't just become a dust collector!

Thanks very much I'm glad you're enjoying things. As I seem to make a habit of overcomplicating things, we have at least a few videos left to go before we're done!

Thanks very much, that is kind of you to say. I am trying to keep making videos, but struggling with a lack of time and not really feeling great within myself over the last couple of years.

@hedgehoghobbies2836 I can appreciate the times when you are down. We all have these times in our lives. It's called life. This doesn't mean how you are feeling means anything less. Your videos were telling a story of the progress made as you created a model railway. Mistakes. Triumphs. Decisions making. Creativity and your humour were your light-hearted approach. I hope you will consider in your time to entertain us more.

As you say yourself, your work is significantly over engineered, but it will certainly withstand the test of time. Your initial planning, attention to detail and build quality are outstanding.. W8ll you be adding carrying handles to the ends? Keep up your great work (and get an electric sander).

Hey Kevin... hope you didn't mind me including you in the vid. Thanks for your idea and your kind words. Because the top overhangs the sides, the box already has natural places to hold it which work quite well. I still don't have that sander though!
