Gerard, thanks so much for saying that leaving the patina or polishing it is moot! I have a biscuit barrel that my mum's grandmother brought from the Old Country which I always loved and my mum told me was NOT to be polished. Now I've found out it is an original Archibald Knox design from Liberty and I think it's a shame it's lived in darkness for 100 years, so I'm going to polish it up and use it. Thanks again!

Jerrard, Thank you for your video. I have a question... A very old plate was passed down to me 40 years ago. It has a "Coat of Armor" stamped into it and my Daughter had it in her possession. Now it is corroded due its lead content... I am wondering if I should attempt to clean it and w/ what, vinegar?. Again, it is very old. Marked w/ CMM M\X/ & many initials scratched into it. (Double V's, etc.) I would send you a pic, yet I cannot access your web site. Thank you again.

I'm exactly 60 years old and I have six pewter goblets that my mother owned before I was born. I can remember as a small child drinking water from these very same goblets at the dinner table in Logan Utah. I live in Garden Grove CA now. Unfortunately these goblets have absolutely no marks on them to identify their manufacture. So is there away to identify unmarked pewter goblets as to their age, etc. ? I would like to sell these goblets as I can not take them to my grave. And frankly being on a fixed income, I could use the money. Any advice as to their worth and how to identify them would be greatly appreciated. I can upload video images on youtube to help identify them if necessary. .
