Man, this seems like the exact thing I’ve been looking for. I’m fond of rank-and-file fantasy games but have little interest in accumulating an army or several for one. This is that in an extremely compact form, with room for growth and hobby opportunities with expansions and miniatures. Been, ah, fantasizing about 3mm or 6mm fantasy armies and this would be a great system to build a couple of little armies for. Thanks for the comprehensive video!

Agreed, I couldn't have put it better myself

I have spec ops 2 & asymmetric warfare & love em, so I was looking for reviews on spec ops 3. Fair balanced review, so thanks very much. I may now invest. Spec ops minis are good . But they’re so often out of stock they must be losing a fortune. If you’re reading spec ops, ramp up production and I’ll buy more stuff . Thanks shield wall 100 have subscribed on strength of this review.

I think the game is fun, and even with postage it was not bad. Transport once it is punched is not as slim as when you first receive it, as you have tio back up cards and counters I think the oldest "Build your own fantasy army" large scale wargame I have read would be from 1977, "The Emerald Tablet" where you can have to design the basic stats of your individual troops, or Chivalry and Sorcery 1st edition, which had a more standard wargame format for the era, where you did have "types" but they were not as abstracted as HoTT or Mythic Commander Mythic Commander's version is a lot more elegant

Glad to hear it. I've been having a lot of fun.

Seems like a very low barrier to entry for a complex and interesting enough game! Just the kind of thing to have a go at of an evening, without having to prep, paint, remember 1000s of weapon rules. Sounds great to me, excited to try it out (£8 on modiphius right now)
