Richard the Lionheart did have strong links to the Templars, incidentally, working with them closely during the Third Crusade, supporting them in various ways and apparently even travelling back homeward disguised as a Templar. He also sold them the island of Cyprus, which he conquered on the way out to the Holy land. They should have kept it but they gave it up to the de Lusignan dynasty.

The Templars did much more, for instance they told Richard III that Jerusalem couldn't be held. Their experience and guidance in Outremer to Richard was beyond count.

Portugal was the fall back repository of the Templars, and in fact, was founded by the Templars who were given one third of the lands immediately by the minor Count they installed as the first king. The Templars created Portugal, as it was a location at the outer reaches of Papal authority. They were instrumental in financing the entire Age of Exploration into the New World, which emanated from Portugal.

Thank you for this very instructive lecture on a much romanticized topic. I learned more about "les templiers" during these 80 minutes than during the last 60 years. The analogy between the Knights Templar and modern multinational corporations struck me as very valid since both are accountable to no-one besides their mentor, the pope for the Knights Templar and King Profit for the multinational corporations. One difference though, the modern Philippe IV le Bel who would rein in multinational corporations does not seem to be born yet.

They came from France and landed in the Americas on June 13th, 1777 at Georgetown South Carolina. 7473777... I'm not a mason and according to the Regis Poem, I shall not become a mason. However I do find the numbers and my life experiences to be somewhat interesting. Including writing Masonic numbers on my walls before knowing Masons even existed. Also writing the words "Crystal Nacht" before knowing that Hitler used this same term to enact a horrible time for others. Finally, after I was told about my Masonic ancestor, I was told by the person who shared this information, that she would, "kill" me if I ever spoke about it. I have had an attempt on my life since. It's simply not me to be a part of any group no matter what it's about. Plus if you read your own writings, ie: The Regius Poem, I'm not fit to be a mason because I have physical issues which degrade my human capabilities. This was probably the best historical explanation of the Templars I've ever herd, especially with the realistic outlook on the whole messianic connection thing. As far as the Catholic church goes I would say that France had a heavy hand in this rather than just Rome. Spain basically was the main reason c for the terrible Inquisition not Rome. We can argue on the authority vs the actions but at the end of the day France and Spain were wrong. Thanks for this, it was great.

How 9 elderly Knights were meant to protect the pilgrim routes remains a bit of a mystery as they did nothing of the sort for the first nine years. They burrowed 120ft down through solid rock below the temple Mount. What they found is still under intense speculation. From the ark of the covenant to replicas of the dead Sea scrolls, hand on heart we just don't know. It's a fascinating story and deserves to be told. In Europe they were granted property and land at such a rate they couldn't garrison them. This was long planned, and once the wheels started turning it ran like clockwork. They were reclaiming their ancient patrimony in the Holy Land.

Well done for mentioning this, Roslyn was not where the Templars lived in Scotland, it was 'Temple' to the South East. After that they built 'New Temple' in London City, which is now known as 'the bankers church' in the Incorporated City of London. The Queen stands at Temple Bar on the perimeter and has to ask permission to enter :-)

Freemasonry was founded after the Templars were exterminated by the pope and the French king. Though inspired by the Templars, they are two different organizations.

I could be wrong but the Masonic Lodge was a Scottish institution and that the Templar Knights were protected under Robert De Bruce seems to have been skipped over

The king who protect the templars was our portuguese King D. Dinis (who was actually cousin of the French King). He was the one who protected the templars and fool the Vatican at the time, when he simple came with the idea of change the name of the Knights Templar to The Order of Christ and with that, the Templars continue to exist for more than 2 centuries. By the way, Portugal is a Templar Nation, founded by the Templars and our first King was a templar knight and nephew of Bernard of Claivaux. It is funny that the so called Templars experts don't even know this. Maybe because they are a bunch of dumbasses.

And we cherish the great Portuguese seafaring history which resulted the same faithfulness. The map which was smuggled out of Portugal for lots of Gold was very useful to Colomb! Portugal, like Scotland is a centuries old straight friend of France. Old friendship runs deep❤️❤️❤️

There WAS something with the power of "good" and I have begun researching since reading your comment.. Other than the Holy Grail, the Templars used a substance that they got addicted to. This substance enabled them to see "Mage" and those disguised who were "Mage" Seems what I have been reading so far is that Mage's had possession of (or were possessed by) a dark energy that they used for their power - It involved blood. (sacrificing innocent babies and children ?) It is not written ... Jaynice Lace wow I was already thinking about adrenochrome once you mentioned they got addicted to a substance, before I even got to the part where you mentioned the Knights Templar possibly sacrificed children and drank their blood! You gotta look up adrenochrome if you haven’t heard about it. Apparently it’s adrenalized blood that’s extracted at the height of a child’s terror and at the peak of when the most adrenaline will be in the blood. Ive been trying for years to get the history on a sword that was in the attic of my Great Grandfathers home. He found it after he purchased the home from the railroad, it was located in milford iowa. The sword bears James Robertson JR on it, as well as the scabbard. Very beautiful, very much so intricate. Never known how it got there. Nor have I been able to find any info on this man. Id really love to be able to put the pieces together! If anyone can help, or knows where to look, id truly appreciate it. Thank you so much.

I love your comment and can give you a fine example. The Jesuit "Mission" of Maryland set sail to create a New World on Friday, November 22, 1633. A Sect of people were granted a new oath and religious freedom and Nancy Pelosi's father established Israel with Zi0nist World C0mmunist in 1947. There is reason that Baltimore has been involved in every war in America. The "Supernatural" or "Unorthodox" banned original teachings in 1963 and provided education the Jesuit Indoctrination program that is currently teaching Global Citizenship to children. The reformation is happening now (again). Think about how much history is hidden in the Vatican and Rockefeller Museums... we will never know the truth of existence.

It was reputed to hold scrolls that were the last extant copies known to exist at that time. It’s also incredibly frustrating that items such as the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Nag Hammadi Library, were ignored and dismissed on their discovery and effectively left to degrade in non-archival storage. Modern science is at least is now allowing us to scan the text on the scrolls that are too degraded to even be unrolled.

You never hear them brought up in American History. Luckily, I study local history, so they drop on the radar in Baal-timore in 1790, before their "Sect" was allowed a new oath & religious freedom in 1826. They went on a building spree of Churches after "We the People" lost the War of Rebellion.

@@ms.donaldson2533 There's plenty of evidence to suggest the Order touched down stateside long before Columbus. I believe some native American Indians came into contact with them. Look it up, fascinating speculation whichever way you look at it.

In 1187CE Saladin captures Jerusalem from the European crusaders. He is extremely magnanimous and forgiving to all the Europeans, even paying the ransom of those poor ones from his own money. He made only two exceptions: The first is the oath- and treaty-breaker Reginald/Reynaud of Chatillion, lord of the fort of Krak, whom Saladin personally executes because of him repeatedly breaking truces, and attack on pilgrim caravans. The other group are the Templar knights, whom he orders all of those captured that day to be executed. My guess is Saladin's stance is probably due to the Templars' no-compromise, no-negotiation, no-prisoners approach in battles, so he applied their own methods to them.
