I praise the writer, this was one hell of a mystery crime, and the actors were fantastic !! More of this kind of series, please!!

If this were a true story I don’t think I’d be so forgiving. I’d like to see the detective unemployed at least, never working in the police force again.

At first when he kept smiling...creepy. He was persistent and even confessed how this guy wouldn't give up, give in. At the end we got to see the toll it takes on the detectives face too.🙏💔

Oh man. What a show. Gut wrenching at times. Frustrating at others. I did start watching because of the picture of 2 American actors but these Australian ones were terrific. Tyfs

No, it was not. The who murders someone is at fault. Millions of children go through worse things than their parents splitting up; very rare for this to be the result. There is something wrong with a child who does what this one did just to have a nice Christmas. The mother dragged the children away, so blame her, too.

Cops always want to pin it on the 1st person...it makes you think twice and walk away.

@helengold9098 It turns out there are various versions of this show and Ryan starred in the American series. Still, the channel should not have used the picture for the Australian version.

I saw this when it was first on TV...the US version...there was also, I believe, a New Zealand version, the original...the US version changed the ending to a very upsetting and unsatisfying ending and yes, the cop in the picture was awful...

Very good series , but if you dont what to know who did it , please do not read Dd3wc post because they bloody spoiled it for me , they tell you who done it , why did you do that its not fair for us who want to enjoy working out who done it 😢 , so angry and so not fair , i was reading the comments to see if worth watching, and so many said very good watch ... next time try and keep it to yourself ....🤬

Oh my life … for a fleeting moment at the very beginning of the series I sort of wondered if the older daughter had something to do with it. But I never would have thought the youngest was capable of anything like that! It just seemed like the father was being set-up … not knowing his youngest was really trying to help. So sad … so many lives would be destroyed. It’s a hard lesson that all parents really have to be cognizant of how they behave around their children when arguing … and to ensure when there are difficulties to communicate with your kids. One truly never knows how young minds can misconstrue things. I don’t think this was a true story … it was fictional … right?

I'm a cheat, only on the 3rd episode and I've come to the "back of the book" old habits don't stop. Never would have guessed who the killer was. So back to the 3rd episode.

If I had the full series at hand I know I would have binged it in one evening … and probably fast-forwarded some of the slower scenes. Truly the ending made the series! I honestly wonder how many would have guessed it? Enjoy watching the full series … even though you cheated, now you can see it from a whole different perspective. One viewer said she’s watched the series three times already! 😁

Great series, very good actors. This is the original? I don’t believe in (American) remakes. They also made a remake of the Scandinavian series “ the killing” for the US market. I don’t know the US name for it, but it was so bad compared to the original: bad actors, bad script, very superficial, not the exceptional suspense of the original.

Episode 2 and I found her character irritating. Maybe it was my intuition.
