Thanks for the review and comparison. I think it makes sense to start with the more streamlined and lower cost Mysterium Park. Both look like a good choice for board games with more than 4 players. Often times, are groups are more than 4.

Yes. if you want to just play Mysterium, I do think the small one is a lighter game and still has the same feeling. The larger game is a bit more fiddly but the theme is a bit more epic.

I bought mysterium first and after a friend brought over mysterium park I much prefer the set up and rules. I do agree with taking the cards from mysterium to the park board since the artwork the original games provides is far superior. I also suggest still using the privacy board in a home set up to give the ghost more privacy.

Why not both?

I use both interchangeably with Dixit cards and mixed rules. Voting is out the window for me. They're relatively cheap games.

Is it a good two player or solo player or more than 2

Mysterium is not really good as a two player or solo experience. It probably plays best around the 4-5 player mark as the competition to guess the three elements is more competitive and fun, but thats not to say that you can't play it at two. It would just be a bit more like one person guiding the other person through the game.

Never play Catan, I didn't get that pun

The robber is the piece in catan that stops certain hex tiles from producing resources which can be frustrating for some players who need their hex tiles to give them their wheat, wood sheep etc..... so lots of ppl wouldn't miss the piece if it was taken out of the game. :)

Mysterium is better, but Mysterium park is good if you go traveling.

The original game all the way. Mysterium park is a cheap cashgrabbing knockoff at best.
