I managed to get all hidden lures on my own, definitely unusual for me, also the glowing eyes thing was an amazing little Easter egg and scared the hell out of me

it makes a lot of sense that you’re supposed to loosen up when the fish is struggling. i played through the whole game by luring the fish all the way up near the surface then hooking it and pulling it up that last inch out of the water

Honestly that's not a bad strategy; I used that sometimes with a few fish that were super annoying to reel in, like pike.

I found Mourning Stone by pure luck and I think it's the coolest lure in the game. It's basically the only one I use when I'm not trying to get Proto Fish

Very good job with the hints! I had found 2 or 3 lures already and could easily get the rest with some fancy thinking and your hints

god this was so helpful honestly achievement/secret hunting (especially without tips) kinda sucks the fun out of this game. repeating days hoping for good RNG for those rare fishes and scrubbing every corner of the map looking for tiny lures is really a chore. so thanks a bunch~

I'm glad it helped! And I feel your pain a bit; when looking for one of the lures I knew what general terrain it was on from a single screenshot I'd seen, but it took SO LONG to actually find it, which is partially what inspired this guide to begin with.

Cool guide, thanks for making. Really enjoyed the game, wish it got more attention. Sadly though, my copy glitches out on my computer and all the cutscenes (including the ending!) don't play. :/

Okay first off great video, this was really helpful but I have 2 questions: is there only one ending? And what you talk about at the end about seeing something like what the man by the fire described, was that just yellow dots at night or something else because I saw those but figured they were just supposed to be fireflies

Thank you! As far as I know there's only one ending, though there's always the possibility that there's something I missed. For the last part it was definitely something more than the little dots! I think those are indeed fireflies; this was something obviously different.

Game was on sale on the Switch eShop, was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. Great video, I ended up finding all the lures on my own and was missing 3 fish. Thanks a lot, you really helped. Btw, I've been trying to find these "glowing eyes", any tips?

Thank you and I'm glad it helped! For the eyes, unfortunately not really; I only saw them that one time, and only after a ton of playing. I feel like I heard somewhere that it might be luck-based, so eating a lot of lucky dishes might help, but I'm not sure on that.

Took me a sec to track it down since I don't have the game installed anymore, but I found this: kzread.info/dash/bejne/la6gmK2JYJuwZpM.html At 2:15:51 he flips through the fishpedia; fish 11 is the Northern Pike. If I remember right this one is a random spawn, so you might want to try increasing your luck. At about 1:44:30 in the video he's casting to catch one, so that should hopefully give you an idea of where to look for the spawn.

Hi! I'm glad I'm could help (and I just read what I assume is your comment; you're welcome! ♥) For cooking, I don't know the exact details, but I can definitely give you some general info that might help. It's total overall cost, not similar values (I tried similar values, similar rarities, etc etc FOREVER so I feel your pain); I typically made a glorious dish by using multiple really expensive fish, like two oar fish and then a few $500 fish. Average quality is somewhere in the middle range of prices (a few multi-hundred dollar fish should do it.) My original notes for this video say that my guesses were $500+ total combined fish value for average, $2000+ for glorious, but those are only ranges since I never experimented enough to figure out exact price limits. But hopefully that'll help!

It appeared to me once, but I've never seen it again in all my hours of playing since. Just wondering.

I presume (though this is just a guess) it probably does reappear but with a very low frequency chance, though I wonder if the luck affects that at all.

Could you go ahead and just spoil the glowing eyes for me? I'm not too into fishing games, so I'd rather not sink enough time into the game to find out what you're talking about.

SPOILERS for anyone reading beyond this point. I only saw it once so I may be misremembering on details, but basically I saw these big yellow glowing things that obviously weren't fireflies. When I got closer, it was clear they were the eyes of what was like a stylized ghost; it reminded me of a poe from ocarina of time. When I got close-ish, it disappeared, and I hadn't seen it before or since but it was near the cooking cabin, though I dunno if it can show up other places too.

Actually useful guide which allow you to avoid like 1 hour of uselessly catching fish in agony as your bait do a 360 over your head for 5 mins. Too bad the game havr such a wasted potential and bad ending.

I'm glad the guide was helpful! I have mixed feelings about the game itself; I really enjoyed some of the gameplay, the discovery aspect of things, and some of the weird stuff that can happen, but I also found the ending a little lackluster and oh man were some of the controls frustrating.

@@TesseractHeartMisc I think my main issue was how excruciatingly slowly your lure sinks. It makes fishing very deep a big patience test. I kinda had fun with the way the lure can miss you sometimes, I made it a challenge to catch fish while facing away from the lake lol
