They could've had the Myrtle Beach Pavilion, and the Sling Shot ride, And the Sky Wheel, but....they chose not to. Ocean Blvd. would had REALLY been booming then!!, had the Pavilion had stayed there. I miss riding the Corkscrew & hearing the clickity clack of the train going up the lift hill. It rode a heck of alot better than that poorly made Hurricane.

I am so glad you made this post. I have been going to the Myrtle Beach Pavilion since the 1980's and I can never find a pic. of the original Haunted House skeleton! I was amazed when I saw your video of it. I actually remember being there in 1992 and remembering that the skeleton's fingers once moved, but they stopped that after awhile. Then later in the 90's they sadly removed the skeleton all together and made it the "Haunted Hotel". As we know, the entire pavilion was destroyed in 2006 boo =(

You have a real treasure here with this video. In an earlier comment you stated that you didn't have the equipment to convert your VHS tape to digital. I have the equipment, and I could help you capture a much better quality video from it, if you still have it. I am in the very preliminary process of producing a comprehensive presentation of vintage Pavilion. I may have an opportunity to produce this as a public show to be presented in a Myrtle Beach venue. (Any proceeds from that show would be contributed to a local MB charitable cause.) It would be an honor to get your permission to use a few of the scenes from your terrific video here. Naturally, if you are available, you would be invited as an honored guest to the presentation. And you would have a say as to how your video clips would be integrated into the presentation. Are you interested in pursuing this? - Best Regards, John Gasch

Sorry for the quality. I've yet to figure out how to convert VCR tape to a file.
