Superb explanation of the concept. I was searching all over the web and nothing explains it like you have done. The important point is that when the eye lens is in unaccommodated position (looking at a far away object) the focal point is such that light from far off objects is focussing in front of the retina thus causing blur. *But* when looking at near objects the eye accomodates and moves the focal point around so that the image focusses on the retina. What this theoretically means is that people with myopia only need glasses when looking at something distant as when looking at something close like reading a book do not need glasses. This point is significant as today there is no such guidance for myopic people. They are asked to wear glasses all the time even when doing up close activities like reading. And in doing so they end up focusing the image behind the retina thus causing what is called hyperopic defocus which results in elongating their eyeball (esp for young people whose eyes are in growing stage) which results in further increas in the myopia power.
Thank you so much sirr!! It was very informative.

Is it possible that ciliary muscle cant stretch or contract properly and thus causes these two defects or is it due to defects in the eye lens. Plz enlighten me
@amritaganguly2531
9 ай бұрын
Yes , it's possible. It's occur at old age . This is called presbyopia . It can be corrected by *bifocal lens*.

Hlo sir I have one doubt, in high conversing power of eye lens, is the near point shift less than 25 cm
@poojapandey2717
5 жыл бұрын
No, it remains same b'cauz when the eye lens become highly conversive then the eye defect called myopia arises in which we can't see the distant object. In this eye defect we can see the near objects clearly.
Really good explanation
Best video Thanks
Good job
Sir high power waali case me aapne kaha ki light rays thodi zyada deviate karegi lekin aapne rays ko min. Focal length and max. Focal length ke beech se pass kar diya . 4:46
