The only uses that my top strap on the older kit is for, keeping my zippers protected from accidental unzipping if in an area where things can get snaged. And also kinda can act like a compression strap for the upper portion of the kit. But I still agree that it's redundant.

This kit contains some items that the average person has no business using. Chest value "patch" is for a pneumothorax or a collapsed lung due to a puncture wound. You did a great job explaining; however, the average person won't know how to use this. Maybe the idea is that someone will be around who knows how too. I do like that you can add your own items to it. Thanks for another great video

The fact that I had to go look it up myself proves your point. I feel like everyone should go through some sort of basic first aid training so they'll know how to use the stuff in here

Maybe not you if you don’t have the training, and you should, but quite possibly someone else on the incident may.

@@flyslinger2 that's why I have my wife lol. She's a PA in the ER. She works in trauma. Plus we are Filipino so every time we go out we have a bunch of nurses with us 😂

In my view is better to have and not need then need and not have. Especially when it comes to first aid you never know going out in the trails. The outdoors is unforgiving

Hey David, we actually provide a digital training on how and when to use Chest Seals with the purchase of one of our Pro kits. The training is taught by our 18D, Green Beret Combat Medic, Billy Haley. In-person training is super valuable, but not always accessible for everyone.

It seems like the new design has a more fragile interior. Do you think that those mesh pockets will hold up?

We will see. Mesh is always weird to me too. A lot of the cheaper stuff I have that use mesh always rip. I hope this doesn't

Is that really the large? Or the standard myfak size?

From what I was told it's the large. And I compared it and it seems like all the items in the large pro kit is in here

This is the standard size. The large comes with basically two of everything showed (except for the more trauma oriented gear) the kit itself is also about again as large. I have both the standard (for the car) and large (for the home)

I will never understand why MyMedic has chosen to die on the hill of those crappy RAT tourniquets. No one knows how to use one, they aren’t TCCC approved, and they just don’t seem to work. I get it, they are compact, and you can use them on kids and dogs, but if I fall and impale my arm, there’s no way I can walk my wife through how to use one in a hurry. MyMedic: Just ship these with CAT TQs! I love your stuff so much, but dang…

Funny you bring this up because on all my kits I've replaced the tourniquets lolol Friend of mine gave me a ton as a gift that's easier to use
