Fun facts!!:
1) Mykonos means dry ground rocky place!
2) Acropolis: acro- old; polis- city … old city. Every island has an Acropolis.
3) Cremation is forbidden in Greece. They have to plan burial in 2-3 days bc no hospitals to keep bodies cold. The bones are then dug up 5-6 years later to be buried in the family’s privately owned chapels walls. Not all of Greece does this. Creamation is now allowed only 5-6 years ago.
4) Most of the land is private owned
5) Very dry and Rocky island. Rare to have rain! There are big containers that collect the rain when it rains so the islanders can use it when needed. The container has not been full in almost six years!!
