That‘s what most Turks understand they think they are all turkic but many of them have no nomadic central asian roots and are more anatolians instead of turkish. Anatolia had natives before the ,,real“ turks came the Lydian,Phrygians and Hittites. Thats why some look more caucasian and some more central asian

This is the most accurate response. Recent studies show that the gene pool in penisular Italy is quite old with two major migrations from Steppe and Anatolia. In addition the Greeks that Colonized Southern Italy were predominantly from Crete and Greek Anatolia hence, the larger % of W. Asian and Middle Eastern components.

Maria Teresa I got mostly Turkish, Iranian, Caucasus, and northern Iraq (West Asia) in general, I have only 8% Middle Eastern, and about 11% southern Italian and Greek, also I got like 3% Ashkenazi Jewish, and like less than 1% Central Asian.

Maria Teresa // i got ~3.4% mediterranean islander (Sicilian-Maltese-Cyprus) from yemen 🇾🇪 A lot of Sardinians and italians have same paternal Haplogroup as i do. Like Nicolas Cage which means hes probably of Arab descent because HG E-m84 is arab Afroasiatic

Da dove dieni? If you are southern it could all be from the the ancient Phoenicians that colonized southern italy they are lebanese levante arabs that were in carthage, north tunisia or western sicily. But you have central european maybe also nothern italian component

Well, Southern Italy was once called Magna Grecia, so that's why many southern italians get such a high percentage of greek :) I'm from the south but my area wasn't part of Magna Grecia, that's probably the reason why I only have 4% according to MyHeritage Nice results, by the way!! :)

@@noidea2126 I saw you're from Lebanon! There's not much information here (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italians_in_Lebanon) but I saw there's a small italian community due to historical reasons there. Given your high italian percentage, you could have a distant relative coming from northern or central italy!

In realtà solo la Sicilia é stata in parte arabe, i risultati con questa compagnia mi lasciano sempre dubbioso perché ad esempio a Napoli (questa ragazza é di vicino Napoli) non ci sono mai stati arabi a parte qualche incursione di saraceni qualche anno ma i risultati mi sembrano esagerati

Sono arrivata al 1700 e qualcosa, eppure siamo tutti della provincia di Caserta 🤔 eppure una percentuale così alta mi fa pensare ad un antenato recente??? booooh

Credo che la parte di nord Europa possa essere spiegata anche dalla presenza dei Longobardi in Campania! E la percentuale greca è moooolto più bassa di quella che mi aspettavo. Ma non escludo remote origini siciliane, data anche l'alta percentuale di Medio Oriente (per quanto possano essere sfalsate, è comunque molto alta rispetto al resto!). Mi sorprende quel 16% di Asia Occidentale 🤔 è probabilmente abbastanza recente, per essere così tanta

Peccato che gli spagnoli abbiano anche governato il sud, tra l'altro hanno fatto una guerra contro i francesi per questo, dopo 70 anni hanno buttato fuori i francesi e preso il controllo totale del sud. Il Nordoccidentale potrebbe benissimo derivare proprio da quel breve periodo francese, mentre l'iberico proprio dal periodo spagnolo che ne segue. Non penso derivi da alcun antenato del Nord, data la nostra storia. Ma poi chi lo sa. Resta un'opzione.
