Mr Croker Sir Thank you for inspiring me to hunt and purchase my very own Myford ML 7 1952 here in Crazy Durban-South Africa. My restoration project, albeit partial, has been a very fulfilling one with your help of course-Bucket list item number 76 ticked. Keep up the great work....will now definitely subscribe. KZread with generous people like yourself have also helped me in other endeavors like black-smiting- leg vice, forge, anvils and tongs found, restored and functional. God Bless Raj Hooblal

Hi there. I have just been through this series. What a marvelous job, you have done! I own a late just like that. My late father worked as a sales representative, and sold a new lathe and a welder to some sort of school where they train mechanics. In swap for the new gear, a Myford ML7 and a ESAB MIG welder was traded in. Nobody wanted the Myford so mi dad brought it home, and then nothing more happened. When we cleaned up his shead after his death, i took the lathe home at my place. I miss a lot of parts, among that the complete set of gear wheels to adjust the speed of the apron. And i will have to do the same kind of restoration, that you have done. You have shown the way Mate!

I already know I'll be binging the rest of your videos and am eagerly awaiting new series in the future. You've certainly earned my subscription. You may not be interested in this, but I'm sure there are those of us who would love to chip in to a tip jar, patreon, or the like, to help buy some of your replacement parts or human liquid fuel of choice. Just a small way those of who are able can show some of our gratitude to the time and effort you spend. Just food for thought.

Nice workmanship, I got same lathe two years back. I was not so luck with wiring on mine. Its shielding was crumbling and dropping off. So converted it to 400v 2/3rds hp motor with a wall control panel. Have left old electrics on the lathe. Just so it can be restored to factory condition. Paint work is pretty nice condition so left it for now. Off out to put to work today. I am total amateur in this world. But enjoy the actual making an designing, And while on that subject Enjoyed the video. Thanks for doing it, and saving that Lathe

I bought my brand-new Myford ML7 (sixty-eight pounds Stirling if I remember correctly) when I was about 20-years old to make parts for electronic and radio projects. I'm 81-years old now, but I can still remember the touching and fitting of all the parts, and even the smell of the paint! After a couple of years I rented it to a friend for three months , which stretched out to be another couple of years, when he bought it from me for one hundred and fifty pounds. I wonder where it is now.........?

I now own a myford ML 10 but there will be (i hope because i am in a bidding) come a super 7 with norton gearbox in I hope 1 ore 2 weeks, complete with the original stand, two 3 jaw chucks, one 4 jaw chuck, dividing system, a complete set of collets and many more tools. It was from an clock restorer and i hope my bidding will be enough So i get the change to restore it and make it my own. Keep up the nice work!!

Great series of videos. Cannot wait to see the L/R Series 3 refurbishment. Keep the comedy coming and if you want to include any clips of NZ beating England at cricket or Ireland beating the All Blacks at rugby please do :-). Great effort on it all - really enjoyable.

What a wonderful series thank you for the effort. I acquired a ML 7 with the intention of refurbishing but the nerves got the better of me, I am a South African, I suppose you could say I "choked" 😁. Thanks to this series I now have the confidence to proceed. Thank you so much.

being a south african seems to me would be diligent, in finishing this lathe to make cannon shells for self defense, or if not, tools for a quick escape, to namibia. Soon fleeing or standing with cannon will be world wide for people of our ethnic background.

Somehow stumbled across part 1 and was hooked, I've just watched it all the way through to the end back to back - I really enjoyed it and hats off for not editing out the mistakes, we all make them! You really turned that lathe around (pun intended ;) ) Good job! Love the Landy btw! Subscribed!
