Get some soil. Put it in a tote. Add some worm castings, oatmeal, and water. Cover tote for 3-4 days. Free mycorrhizal fungi.

dude i just used dr earth that had michorizzae spores with the fertilizer when i planted my carmine jewel cherry bush along with compost and mulch. i have weird mushrooms growing around the mulch and the tree is going CRAZY. The leaves are shiny and dark green it seemed to really make it go nuts after i put mushroom compost and fish emulsion and liquid sea kelp! i moved from the suburbs of Chicago that had rich black soil but in North West Indiana its all sand i heard its great for draining but sucks for nutrients so i bought 100 lbs of azomite. i have a badass source of compost materials, i hate buying compost after my best friend and I made our own. the michorizzae spores didn't really do what i expected with tomato and peppers but i used Mycos from a hydro shop and everytime i replanted this zucchini plant it went nuts and was the size of a small car it even had a pretty big sized Gater snake posted under it

Re: Starving mycorrhyzal fungi with drip irrigation. In Minneapolus we usually get an inch of God's water most weeks during the growing season and we mulch our raised beds 2-6" with tree leaves ground dry each fall and spread throughout the year. We use woodchips for paths -- now transitioning to drought-resistant miniclover and sedums where traffic is light. Our urban "farm" is about 3,000 s.f., including pollinators beds.) Our soil is clay and silt with a little sand and holds water pretty well, outside of a couple beds. We have not been watering outside of beds and rows. What is the MINIMUM RAINFALL/ WATERING requirement outside of the beds to support mycorhyzzal fungi? We are both over 70, so working now for future low maintenance and healthy "free" food are important.

Interesting subject and information ... I don't know a lot about Mycorrhizal Fungi but I do know that there are hundreds if not thousands of different types of this fungi and that certain types of fungi are native to different regions. Also, I think I read somewhere that certain types of fungi can inhibit the growth of other types of fungi. Finally, I thought that Mycorrhizal Fungi are generally quite common in normal or average garden soil. So, if these things are true it leads me to these questions: First, how can I tell if I need to replenish the fungi; second, if I do decide to replace them can I be fairly certain that I'm introducing the type of fungi that would thrive in my region and third, is it possible that I might introduce a species that in fact inhibits the growth of the benefecial fungi? Thanks.

Thank you for the Video. Is there a good souce which explains how we can make our own powder? This knowledge has to become common knowledge. I appreciate you sell the product, but not everybody is living in the US/Canada and just in case the stores should be shut one day, we need to be in the know to produce independent on our own/in our community.

Hey Phil, Heather sent me here. She shared your guys' beautiful kale forest with us. I'm green with envy. Lol I am hoping you will give me some advise. I don't have any ground space to plant. However, I have a decent size patio to pot plant. I'm vegan as well, and want to pot plant some veggies that will provide my family and I with fresh organic veggies and fruits. What would you recommend I start planting in pots? I'm a beginner and I already have fresh herbs in pots.

Strawberries are great fun. If you know anyone growing them, ask if you could clip some of their runners to root to start your own! If you are in the US, check out Next door, a neighborhood INTRAnet which helps connect folks with similar interests, etc. In early fall and all through spring people G I V E A W A Y P E R E N N I A L S! Leaf lettuces: 7 bucks/lb. OR a couple bucks for enough seed to eat salads all year! When you get tired of that, go to JOHNNY'S SEEDS.COM. They carry hundreds of kinds of Greens in LG and small quantities and in blends! Also, microgreens are amazing and you can even grow them in shade or indoors with an ordinary fluorescent or LED tube.

Can myccorhizae over-winter with temperatures as low as 0F? Also does tap water from your garden hose kill this stuff? I already have all my stuff inoculated with Mykos, and everything is growing well, but I don't know if there's a major difference.

Yes Chlorinated (chlorine and chloramine) tap water will kill all microbial life. It will also kill you too, eventually.

Some guy claimed if you sprinkle rolled oats on your soil (and the conditions are wet for a few days), it will create the mycorrhizal. Is there any truth to this?

mycorrhiza (mycorrhizae plural) is the name for the association between a fungus and a plant's roots. mycorrhizal is an adjective for something relating to mycorrhizae. many fungal species that are not very closely related are considered to be mycorrhizal
