Once members of a peaceful urban protest movement, its fighters are bearing the brunt of fighting around the strategic border town of Myawaddy.

The body on the stretcher at 00:44 is a young woman named Angel, who was an inspiring figure in the protests and whose death became an icon of the sacrifice people were willing to make to overthrow the dictatorship, up to this very day. It was said at the time that she intentionally targeted by the junta, with video just before her death seeming to corroborate.

Good reporting, Myanmar deserves more coverage

The EU and the USA - while giving hugh amount of aid and assistance to Ukraine and Israel - need to consider more aid for the suffering Myanmar citizens. It seems the ASEAN and the UN is sitting and watching which side is going to prevail. India and China seems to be not good neighbors while Russia is exploiting the situation. Sad situation for Myanmar citizens.

the resistance groups have been working with or trained with muslim rebel groups. but a lot of people are still wondering what will happen when the military falls hopefully they can live in peace together after the war

@@mitsunori222000 A concerted effort on the part of the West is to demonise the legitimate government of Myanmar to pave the way for regime change, this strategy is employed whenever the West aims to overthrow an independent state, we've seen this played out many times, as in the case of Iraq, Libya, Syria, Iran, Russia, China, Venezuela, Yemen, and so many others to name. The West covets the strategic importance of Myanmar as said country is situated close, geographically and politically, to China, the principal enemy of western hegemony, The overthrow of Myanmar will result in the further encirclement of China.
