@@papayathecat it could be because she's in a house with multiple cats. I don't know how many litter boxes you have, but you should have at least one for each of them and they have to be in all different areas. They feel very unsafe when they're going to the bathroom, so she might have been going on the bed to Mark her territory, or go somewhere where she felt safe. You can get these plug-ins too, that'll help calm your cats if they're in a house with multiple cats. It honestly made such a big difference when I've had fosters. Hope this helps ❤ I honestly would have tried these first before going back to the vet. Since it doesn't seem like it is something physically wrong with her, she's probably just stressed out. 😢 For future reference when it comes to your cats, you should try to contact a rescuer and ask what you should do. I have a lot of experience with cats, and the first thing I would have done was tell you the above things, and not recommended going to the vet. Especially if there was another symptomatic behavior.

Animal behaviorist here! If medical issues are ruled out and the vet says it's anxiety or something of that nature try ruling more things out to find the cause. It could be her being picky about a dirty litter box, not enough litter boxes, not enough scent soakers, and you could try things like calming collars or feliway plugs

I agree totally. Could be the litter box, could be the she needs her smell to feel fine. I gave my cat an old towel that I don't ever wash and she is ok now. Later, we had an issue with the litter box, and she told us her needs by peeing and pooping elsewhere ... but not in the bed.

We had this problem when one of our cats was angry about another cat. They pee on your favourite spot because they want you to know they’re upset. Lucky for me it was my husband’s cat so she peed on his side of the bed. My daughter’s cat also recently peed on her bed in front of her. Her sister just got a new kitten and the kitten kept jumping on the older cat. We monitor them now and are teaching the young one not to torture the older cats. Also, invest in waterproof coverings because getting rid of cat pee smell is very difficult. Even if you can’t smell it, they can and will repeat when upset.

@naturewandererZ I lost my Mum not long ago and brought her kitties to my house but have kept them seperate fron my other kitties in the back bedroom and parlor and at least one of them has peed on the bed a few times >.< I got a waterproof cover to put over the blankets and everything after it happened the first time and I think its a combo of anxiety and wanting to mark the space as theirs because they can see/smell my cats through the screen door we have separating them. We want them to be able to share the house with the rest of the kitties but they are senior kitties and we have a group of 1 year olds that are super active and curious about them. Do you have any advice? We've tried introducing them and one of my Mums kitties panics and hisses and hides and the other will just stay in bed but give them them warning if they come near. Would it be best to introduce the younger kitties one at a time? :/

I feel your pain. My cat was having litter box issues and I took him to the vet. Bloodwork, urine analysis, images and a visit to a specialist later, we finally found out what was wrong with him. Turns out the little beast wasn't drinking enough water, so peeing hurt and he was trying new places to see if it wouldn't hurt going there. I have THREE water fountains around the place and a couple of water bowls that are cleaned and refilled daily available to him 24/7. I fixed the issue adding water to his regular food. He won't drink water, but will lap up a cat food soup like it's ambrosia. No more litter box accidents.

If a cat suddenly changes urination/défécation/marking spraying even if fixed etc definitely check health issues but cats are sensitive about litter boxes and each cat should have their own litter box. Some even suggest additional boxes in the room it is happening. Cats can develop sensitivity to litter types or box shape or if they are declawed have increased sensitivity to liter that hurts feet. Cats do not do things cause they are mad but trying to communicate anxiety or stress. They can even smell a neighborhood cat in the background (even if they are indoor cats)that you aren’t even aware of and get nervous. Jackson galaxy does awesome videos on this topic. As I had a cat do this years apart for different reasons🤗

My female cat started doing that when we brought 2 new kittens into the house. She didn’t like the fact that they would run around her feet and play bite so she wouldn’t get off my bed. Not to pee, not to poop, not to do anything. So now she gets locked out of the bedroom and I carry her to the litter box 4 times a day and make her use it b4 she walks away. She’s allowed to sleep with me at night, after using the litter box, but then the door gets closed and she’s not allowed in there. That’s the only way I can stop her. If I leave the door open she will jump on the bed and pee. Every single time.

We have never had a problem with alternative litters (whole life experience with hundreds of cats and vet school degree) but you have to present it to the cat slowly if she doesn't like it. Some cats would prefer clumping teksture (like from cats best and similar) over the plain pellet, but our cats just get used to whatever they get. The best litter as we know for now is from the wood ( if it's kiln dried!) and the walnut is good but rare. Regular litter, if it is made from clay, is not good for their health in the long run. Banana and other kitties with the same problem, if it's not health issues, most likely just need an extra liter box, or two.. When that happens to male cats, go straight to the vet without thinking, it could be life threatening.
Banana's so cute! Maybe she wants her own litter box? Vets usually advise having an extra litter box to to the total # of cats one has. On the brighter side, at least she doesn't mark everywhere! >.

Waterproof bed covers exist, it's like a thin blanket but totally waterproof so no liquid nor odor pass through it. I have two of them for each bed and sofa that I want to protect in the house so I rotate between them when my cat strike on one of them. They're pricy but washable, durable et can also be used for many things like picnic blanket, car seats protector, baby/child proof covers, etc.. 😉
My cat does that too. I consulted two vets but neither gave a certain explanation, So I throw thick plastic sheet all over the bed, plus she has this "alarm before the accident" kind of a thing, she meows right before peeing on bed, so I put her in her litter box. My advice is not to be angry with her, try to find her alarm behaviour to save the day, and don't wash the bed sheets with the detergent you wash her toilet with. Love you Bannana❤.
You can't be mad at that cutie pie ❤
My kitten was doing the same. My solution was to clean the litter box two times a day to make sure it’s squeaky clean and have a total of 4 litter boxes at home 😭. I have two kittens too and they are brothers so it was kinda shocking to me when she started peeing on the bed, I think it was mostly stress and territorial issues with her brother. I also noticed that when she tried to pee then her brother would interrupt and she would end up holding it and peeing on the bed so I had to take her to the litter box at the times she would usually pee and then give her a treat if she peed. I hope Banana stops doing this after you make her more comfortable.
The ending has me rolling 🤣
Adorable kitten.
My little guy does the same thing. He’s 10 and still has accidents to this day! When you love them, you just gotta take it 😹🙀
Agree with each cat having their own liter box. Keep them in different areas too. Clean them every time they go . Lastly, try another type of litter in Bananas box. Cats are picky. Put the litter box in your bedroom for a while too.

Hahaha. That's so funny. Your a good person. God bless you and your cat's.❤
It happened to me too. My senior cat was 15 yrs old at that time when I brought home 2 other cats. I knew it was a behavioral problem bc of the 2 new addition. He even peed on me right after I showered and washed my hair and blew dried my hair. Took him to the vet the Dr said the same day that it's behavioral. But days on end he peed outside the box so I 'invested' on a lot of pee pads and lined my whole room and bed with it. Later he was actually diagnosed with lump in his intestine and then there was a lump in his bladder. So he couldn't pee at times then he would pee blood. He lived up to 20 yrs. Still miss him everyday.

If you don’t already have one, you should get a waterproof encasement for your mattress. It will drastically extend the life of your mattress by protecting it from everything. The encasement is also 10000x easier to clean than the mattress, literally just chuck it in the washing machine. You should also look into pet insurance. Ask your vet which ones they work with, that can save you a ton of money.
I have a cat that does the same. After taking to the vet and trying lots of things, the thing that has helped the most is putting washable puppy pee pads ( not the disposable) in front of her litter box. She pees there now instead of our bed or other cushy places.
Its good that you checked with a vet. Sometimes it's just stress. Feliway and Comfort Zone plugins are really helpful. Try using one in your bedroom where the cats hangout on your bed. I have multiple cats and it really helps.

bro it’s so expensive to have pets like cats and dogs, that’s why my parents don’t let me have one
To add to all the other good advice about other cats around (eg outside cats threatening their territory, cohabiting cat blocking from litter tray), having 1 tray for each cat plus 1 extra, trying different types of litter trays or types of litter, also use an enzyme cleaner to get the scent completely out or the behaviour will be encouraged by having a tiny scent there that’s not enough for human noses to detect.
We had a cat that did that growing up, a lovely orange tabby, except he would specifically do it on the belongings of whoever he decided he didn't like that day, or whoever pissed him off. He thankfully never targeted my things, but my brother's were his favorite targets 😅 he would also do it in front of our backyard door whenever he saw other cats outside, as if he was marking his territory or something. He was also very neurotic, would have panic attacks even if we were out of the house for like 10 minutes, so I hated leaving him alone. He passed when I was in 6th grade, but he was a sweet little guy. Sometimes.
She’s a calico! They are very demanding, sneaky, crazy cats. She’s mad about something, but only she knows what! Lol.

You are such a loving cat mom. You put her health first even though you'd have to compromise on your own food, that's so selfless.
Anxiety can be the main reason, it's a nightmare but we still love them ❤😂
My cat did this after a long vacation of mine. She is 4 and had never done it before. After 5 hours and $800 to the emergency vet, it was determined she had stress induced cystitis. Something cats get. They act like they have an infection, but no bacteria is there. She got pain medications to calm her bladder irritation, and I stayed home for 4 days. No problems since. I do change the litter box twice daily, and I added one more since I have 2 cats. If you only have 1 box, but 2 cats, add another box and change it twice a day. Also make sure you have plenty of water available that is fresh. Good luck.
😂😂 mmm..Instant noodles With Bananna is one of my favorites😂😂😂😊❤
Omg that same thing happened to me 🤣 but I took my cat twice until they realized it was separation anxiety. I spent $500 🤦🏻♀️😩
It happens with everyone. Just put a mattress protector and wash everything when they do it. They mostly will not repeat it
This also happened to me, my cat named Golden will pee wherever he wants if the litter box looks dirty or has been used by another cat..
OMG!!I😢 Also got astronomic bills from Vet!!😂😮
😂😂😂 Kittens can forget to run to the litter box when they're playing really hard.
When my cat was about 10 months old, he threw up a whole lot of watery puke in 4 puking incidents over the course of 10 minutes. I freaked out and rushed him to the vet. They played with him for 5 minutes, said he looked perfectly healthy and hydrated, and asked me to monitor him at home for more puking (which didn't happen). The bill I was slapped with was $117. That same orange boy (he turned 2 last month) into the sewing kit I leave on a shelf he had never accessed before and ate a threaded needle two weeks ago. I had to rush him to the ER and he had emergency GI surgery to remove the needle, which the x-ray showed was in his intestines putting him at risk for sepsis due to perforation. Thankfully there was no perforation and his recovery has been extremely smooth. The ER bill was $7,800 after insurance. His very floofy belly is shaved but he is otherwise back to his antics. He may be a little mischievous at times but he is also the sweetest, gentlest, most non-aggressive cat in the world, just like his 3 year old sister, and I feel so, so blessed to have them both.

Yup, had this problem with my 8 month old kitten! We just moved into a new apartment a month ago and she started pooping and peeing behind our TV console 🙃 Turns out, the little lady just needed another litter box in the home. We have two cats so we bought a third litter box and put it right next to the TV, and it has solved her problem! We think the one we had in the hallway was either too far away and she was lazy, she didn’t like it because it smelled too much like her brother, or she wanted more privacy and liked going behind the TV because of that. I got her a box with a cover and I think she’s happy! Also, my cat’s name is Banana, too!!! So cute c:
He’s telling you he’s having some problem(bladder,kidneys,liver…)They never lie.Special beings❤😻
It's super common for female cats, nesting and territorial. That's why some people only get boy cats 😭
I love my cat dearly but in 12 years Ive NEVER taken her to the vet 😂 Id be homeless
There is a specific cleaning / washing detergent for cats urine. If you don't use it, cats can still smell the urine after regular washing and might need to think it has to "mark over" this spot again.
Dw, i have a naughty cat, too, and he piss at EVERYWHERE, and he's healthy
I will assume you scoop the box once or twice a day and that you empty the box and wash it and rinse, rinse, rinse very well once every two weeks. Do not use vinegar anywhere. That attracts them to pee there. It could be that your other cat makes her feel afraid to use that box. It could be the litter. It could be that you need to add another litterbox, that one with a cover to make her feel safe.
Not the air-biscuits on your face 😭😭

Sometimes cats can be very picky about litter too. They don’t like stuff that is scented, as it smells a lot stronger to them. You can try changing around litter levels too (a little less, a little more) to find their preference. Keeping it clean will obviously help, but also make sure where she peed before if fully cleaned. If they pee in the same spot outside the box, it could be due to their pee smell, and even if you can’t smell it, they might be able to! Might need to toss those sheets
