In Georgia Lucas's brilliance for world and character building, if you notice, Luke looks like a young Anakin but his personality and heart, the compassionate nature and always believing in the good in someone, is just like his mom's. Whereas with Leia, she looks like her mom, but she has that fierce and fiery personality and is courageous, but a bit quicker to anger, so her personality is like her father

Vader also attacked Darth Sidious in the non-canon novelization. Sidious hit him with lightning and stopped his cybernetics controller from functioning. Darth Sidioius then warned Vader not to tamper with or alter the cybernetics controller on his chest. Sidious wanted to keep Vader on a leash. Speaking of Vader’s cybernetics, did you notice that Vader experienced the surgeries without any anesthesia?

The main reason why Anakin wanted the rank of master is so that he would be allowed to go into the restricted section of the Jedi Archives, he would’ve gone in there to try and find a way to save Padme instead of turning to the dark side.

One of the tragedies of Anakin's fall is how preventable it was. If Obi-wan had been able to catch up to Qui-gon and prevented his death at the hands of Maul, then Anakin would have had a more capable master who could fill a proper paternal role for him and was more willing to go against the wishes of the council then Anakin would have never fallen to the dark side. If the Jedi order allowed attachments and thus allowed Anakin to maintain contact with Shmi, Anakin could have saved her and he would have never fallen to the darkside. If the Jedi order hadn't forbade relationships and Anakin was able to rely on them as a support network when he started having visions of her death, he would have never fallen to the darkside.

The "Sith Grand Plan" has been in the works for a little over 1,000 years at this point, like Darth Maul says to Sidious in Episode I. 1,000 years ago, Darth Bane destroyed the legion of Sith to create the Rule of Two. One master, one apprentice. But with only two, he realizes that the Sith will only destroy the Jedi through secrecy and cunning. He also realizes that this won't happen in his lifetime, but the Rule of Two, if followed, would prove successful with patience. So, after 1,000 years, Palpatine/Sidious accomplishes Lord Bane's goals through secrecy and political power.

@@tktopmovies Yes 💯 the Sith had a legend similar to the Chosen One Prophecy about Anakin, of a perfect Sith called the "Sith'ari". The "Sith'ari" was said to be a Sith Lord that would reshape the Sith, and set the foundation for the Jedi's downfall. Enter Darth Bane 🔥 if you two are enthralled enough to read any Star Wars novels, the Darth Bane Trilogy is absolutely legendary. Also, the Plagueis novel, which details how Plagueis met Palpatine as a young man, and their machinations leading up to Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Even though Palpatine tells Anakin that the Plagueis story is a "Sith legend", in actuality, Plagueis only died about 13 years prior, when Palpatine was elected Chancellor.

Great reaction guys. Ep. 3 is my favorite Star Wars movie. Plagueis is indeed Sidious' mentor, but only shows up in the books. He created the political and financial infrastructure that made Sidious' career as a politician happen. He was researching ways to control the Midiclorians to create life but didn't get quite as far as Sidious' story indicates. Anakin was born by the Force's Will to counterbalance Plagueis trying to dominate the Force. Sidious murdered Plagueis in his sleep when the former sensed Qui Gon's death in the Force at the last part of Ep 1, because both Sith believed that Qui Gon was the only Jedi with a clear enough mind to figure out the Sith master plan, so without Qui Gon around, Sidious thought he was invincible and killed his master. Sidious told Anakin about Plagueis in part because there would be no Jedi history on the guy to look up.

After you watch the Clone Wars, it adds more layers and nuance to the clones, the Jedi, and Anakin. It will add context to Anakin's feelings that the Jedi are evil. between The Clone Wars cartoon, the Bad Batch (set immediately after), Obi-Wan, Rebels, and Rogue One fill in the gap between the prequels and original trilogy nicely.

Great reaction to the Prequel Trilogy! Revenge of the Sith is the ultimate story of conflicting views. You root for Anakin’s cause but not his actions. But at the same time as per the prophecy of him being the chosen one, I think it all had to happen in order for the balance to be restored. As it’s been shown and stated by George Lucas that Anakin was always the chosen one. And also how that prophecy came to full fruition when Anakin defeated Sidious to save Luke. I don’t know if this had been addressed, but there was a deleted concept where it was revealed that Palpatine was the one who manipulated the midichlorians within Shmii that impregnated her with Anakin. Therefore, Palpatine was Anakin’s “father”. There had many debates about how Padmé truly died, however I strongly believe the possibility that Sidious siphoned Padmé’s life force to keep Vader intact, and despite all he had done Padmé still loved Anakin and he loved her and wanted save her even if he became corrupted by his objective. 🙂😴😫😱🥺😥😓😠 😡😶‍🌫️👿😭🖤❤️💔❤️‍🔥

You also asked at the end why Darth Vader didn't turn on the Emperor for not holding up his end and saving Padme... Well first, Sidious was lying (obviously). Only a Force-user can utilize one of the two forms of 'immortality' that the Force can provide; for Sith, Essence Transfer lets them infuse an object or a clone with their 'soul'; The ancient Sith Lord Exar Kun did so with the Massassi temples on Yavin 4 (where the Rebels built their base). The Jedi become Force ghosts, and in both methods, it only affects the user personally, not others. Second: Vader DID turn on the Emperor literally right after that NOOOOOOOOOO, so great was his anger at his new master for tempting him down this path and making him lose everything he loved. Vader's injuries and loss of all of his natural limbs weakened him, and resulted in a net loss of power even with the emotions linking him to the Dark Side giving him strength, resulting in Sidious defeating him pretty handily and telling him that if he EVER touched him with the Force again, he'd finish what Kenobi started.

Hayden did a great job playing the jealous/suspicious boyfriend just before Anakin and Obi-Wan have their duel. It didn't click for me it at the time I first saw the film, but on rewatches I've really come to appreciate his performance. A viewing order I've seen suggested is 4 - 5 (to get to the "I am your father" reveal) - 1 - 2 - 3 (to get the backstory and context for Anakin) - 6 (for the big resolution of it all). It basically makes the prequel trilogy into a flashback between Empire and Jedi. You might consider that order sometime for a rewatch.

None of the film novelizations are official canon. In the novelization of ROTS, the mission assigned to Anakin is expressed more clearly than the film. Anakin was given the task of observing the Chancellor and his inner staff. In both film and book, Anakin initially felt he was being asked to spy on the Chancellor. His conversation with Obi-Wan ended with Anakin convinced he would protecting the Chancellor, not spying on him. Like the film, the Jedi Council could sense the dark side surrounding the Chancellor. They suspected that a member of the Chancellor’s inner circle was the Sith lord. The only reason the Jedi Council did not suspect Palpatine of being the Sith lord is because he was already leader of the entire galaxy.

Few things: 1. Anakin was still Anakin up until that mask went on, he wasn’t evil even through the battle with obi wan because his eyes were blue until he lost his legs 2. Palpatine and Windu both said “he’s to dangerous to be left alive” and that’s when Anakin realized there was no difference between the Jedi and Sith 3. It’s true when Anakin says “his faith will be the same as ours” because all three of them die on the Death Star 4. Anakin slaughters the younglings because Palpatine specified that he must do evil things to gain power 5. The reason Anakin turn works is because Palpatine was the only person that actually praised him and wouldn’t put him down for the things he felt Overall, his fall to the dark side is as much the jedis fault as it is the siths, the Jedi, especially here are not saints, even asking Anakin to spy and lie to a man he trusts P.s. watch the clone wars if you haven’t, the story with his apprentice makes his turn make even more sense

He was manipulating Anakin from before he was even born.

When you really think about these movies and Anakin's fall from grace, you realize that every aspect of Anakin's life was being manipulated by Palpatine. The dreams of his mother were planted by Palpatine as well as the dreams of Padme. Not to mention that Anakin's mother told Qui Gon that Anakin had no father, and that Palpatine told Anakin that Darth Plagueis could create life by manipulating midichlorians. You realize that Anakin was created by Palpatine solely for the purpose of becoming a Sith.

Yoda had such bad "advice". It's not possible to just "ignore" people you know that are suffering or potentially will suffer. Hearing the emperor's theme never fails to cause chills. It played a little more subtle when the gunship was flying in near the star destroyer where the wookie was. If only Anakin went with Obi-Wan to fight Grievous. He wouldn't have turned. I don't think he ever thought he was turning until he saw Windu fly out the windu. Not putting the "hello there" part of the reaction in this: *this is outrageous, it's unfair!* I think the reason why Windu said to Anakin wait in the council chambers is because he was going to be promoted to Master. The younglings called him master, so maybe the word was spread that he was master but they didn't tell him yet. Why else would he be told to wait in the council chambers? The Order 66 scene hits different with the music and especially after watching The Clone Wars and seeing how the clones were humanized. The music Anakin's Betrayal, Anakin's Dark Deeds, and Battle of the Heroes always give me chills and makes me sad. 😭😭 Bail got to Yoda so fast because he had a homing beacon and was already close.

The thing with Order 66 is that the clones actually have chips in their heads that force them to obey the order. When they heard the command, they had no choice but to... well, execute it. It is also interesting to think back to Yoda saying that Jedi never use The Force for attack, only for defense, and yet seeing that the Jedi at the end of their time became soldiers. That sentiment about the Jedi isn't from dogma... it is from guilt.

Anakin was not made a Jedi Master for one simple reason. He was the master of the Force, but not the master of his emotions. However, Obi-Wan told Anakin that it would not be long before the Jedi Council made him master. The Jedi Council knew [Anakin] would never change. So the Jedi Council gave Anakin one final test before they made him a Master. They wanted to test where his [loyalities] truly lied. Anakin passed the test when he reported his discovery of the Sith Lord to Master Windu. THIS is why Windu instructed him to wait for him Jedi Council Chambers. Master Windu wanted to elevate Anakin to Jedi Master, which needed the approval of the full Council. Remember, Masters did not have to be in the room to participate in a meeting.

They all have micro chips in their brain that were activated when he ordered that command they're all compelled and forced... later on after this movie was over years, go by, and the clones were slowly eliminated, destroyed by the empire and replaced by storm troopers... but the clones were good guys. They fought side-by-side with the Jedi until the order was given remember who made the clones who put in the order...

How did Anakin go from being a sweet little boy to Darth Vader? Well.... it was all the Jedi's fault. If Qui-gon Jinn had lived, things may have turned out differently, as he was clearly the father figure that the boy needed, but Obi-wan had to fill in instead, and always viewed Anakin as a younger brother. Also, being just out of training himself, Obi-wan wasn't prepared to train a 9 year old boy (since most Jedi Younglings are taken to the Temple at age 1-2). The Jedi never thought to free his mother from slavery even though it would have been a simple affair for them, and tried to force their dogmatic teachings of emotion suppression on him after he'd already developed his own persona (which is why children are taken to the Temple so young, so they don't form attachments and are thus molded in the Jedi way from the start). Obi-wan was used to this style of teaching and was not prepared for how Anakin would react to how harsh he was, sowing the seeds of resentment in him early. Anakin has also seen all of the corruption in the Republic, in the Senate via his dealings with Padme during the Clone Wars, their turning a blind eye to smuggling, slavery, and other bad shit in the name of profit, and even the Jedi's hypocrisy in claiming to be peacekeepers and yet pushing for more offensives during the war instead of even attempting diplomacy. Add to that when Anakin goes to Yoda for advice, he gets the typical "Hands-off" treatment that Yoda is famous for, and is left feeling completely misunderstood, which further confuses his loyalties. He wants to be a good Jedi, but he sees how what they do isn't always good. He's always held that a benevolent tyranny is better than a democracy of idiots and thieves, and Palpatine uses that and other confidences to draw him in to his plots while seeming to be a friend. This is not Anakin's fault, and he does try to do the right thing after he finds out Palpatine is Darth Sidious, but then he sees Mace Windu do the exact thing he berated himself for earlier as 'not the Jedi way' and realises the Jedi are not the good guys they should be. After this, he basically feels like he has no choice but to follow through on his actions, which we all know is just digging himself into a deeper hole, but he doesn't realize this at first. Having always viewed the Dark Side as just another tool and not an inherently corrupting force also leads to his fall, especially after being told he's THE CHOSEN ONE his whole life and seeing the power he gets from tapping the Dark Side. You can tell he regrets some of what he's doing when he's standing on that balcony on Mustafar, tears falling, but he's in too deep now to go back. Finally, his outer hatred of Obi-Wan, of the Order, and of the Republic at the end are just pale reflections of his own self-hatred for all of the things he's done and knowing in the end that he didn't even achieve his goal of saving Padme. This is where his true strength as Vader comes from. Anakin would’ve done better in the older Jedi order (over 1,000 years ago) which was more pragmatic, more adaptable, and didn’t discourage attachments. Back then Jedi even had families and kids of their own. In the past it was the Sith who were dogmatic, and rigid. However ever since the last battle between the Jedi and the Sith (1,000 years ago) it’s now the Jedi who are too rigid, whereas the Sith had evolved and adapted. What Palpatine said about the Republic not being what it once was in Episode One, the same can be said of the current Jedi Order, ever since their last battle with the Sith. The Jedi had become too dogmatic, arrogant, rigid, and too detached from others. The Jedi had also become too out of touch with things, they failed to see that the galaxy was changing, that people had lost faith in the Republic which had become too corrupt and dysfunctional. The hypocrisy of the Jedi is that while they preached against attachments, they were too ‘attached’ to the Republic and the power that it gave them, they had become too political. They chose to follow the will of a corrupt Senate instead of the will of the Force like Qui Gon did. Qui Gon was the last true Jedi until Luke came along, he understood how misguided the Order had become. Obi Wan should’ve followed his example and not taken a seat on the Council. Anakin felt more alone after Ahsoka left the Order and it seemed to him that Obi Wan had chosen the Council over him, that he had abandoned him. Only after the fall of the Republic and the Order did Obi Wan realize that Qui Gon had been right all along. Both Obi Wan and Yoda went about training Luke a lot differently, they were kinder, more understanding, and not so rigid. They were both determined to mend the mistakes they had made with Anakin. Luke’s new Order in Star Wars Legends is a lot better than the previous Order had been.

I just binge watched your SW reactions and I have to say I'm a fan of you two. Your Rogue One reaction is next on my list. Clone Wars is fantastic but is 7 seasons so I'm not sure if you'd do those as a reaction series. I definitely recommend you watch the Obi-Wan series which takes place half way between episodes 3 and 4 (10 years or so after 3). The last two episodes are fantastic and the series really shows Obi-Wan's state of mind after Anakin's fall. The Mandalorian, Book Of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka are all must watch series and connect to all 6 movies. They take place about 5 years after Episode 6 (I think). Ahsoka is essentially season 5 of the animated show Rebels. I enjoyed the Ahsoka show without having watched Rebels but I hear it's very good. Episode 5 of Ahsoka was top tier Star Wars. The show Andor is the lead up to Rogue One and was great. One last show called The Bad Batch focuses on clones who broke free of the control chip. I've not seen it yet but I've heard it's good. The Han Solo prequel was good as well but not a necessity. Its interesting to see how he and Chewie meet, though. Hope you follow up on at least some of these shows as reactions here! Keep up the great content.
