Personally believe that if you take out Hyerr it’s literal a perfect album. But to me it’s still perfect because there’s very little albums with only one skip. This album saved my life for sure. But hyerr obviously has to vibe with some people, just not most.

I 100% agree. I’ve got it on my chill playlist too. I used to walk to the bus stop in the mornings and during the winter I would always walk to the stop with this big ass jacket and a beanie on banging this masterpiece. When I had an iPod Nano back when you manually uploaded songs and you see the play count this was my #1 for a while

I’m only on track 2 and my eyes are welling up. I’m just another one of the many who Cudi has literally saved. Pretty cool to watch people listen to this album for the first time… in 2024! Peace ✌🏼

Only discovered this album about a year ago and it completely changed my life and helped me through a really dark time. Crazy that this was released 15 years ago and is still affecting people like that. That's why this album is a classic.

the (nightmare) in the song title is because he describes the album as him going to sleep, and the songs are the dreams he has. the ones with the nightmare label are the nightmares, basically showing the darker side of his thoughts. he talks about it in an interview he did with 'generations'

I'd recommend checking out the song "Do It Alone" (it's on youtube not streaming). From what I understand it was supposed to be the intro track to Man On The Moon but it was leaked before the album release so he removed it from the album. It's my favourite song by Kid Cudi and I think you would both really enjoy it.

I wish you guys listened to the deluxe version of this album. There are a few good tracks you missed out on, especially the title track: Man on the Moon (The Anthem)

This definitely helped a lot of us through high school, it really made us feel like we weren't alone.

I think why this album was so important was during this time, was he was one of the first to talk about mental health so vividly is rap. Very unheard of even in 2009. Thank you for touching on that he opened the door for a lot of rappers to speak on it.

Don't think you'll ever read this but what is the song that at 36:51 Molly says Entergalactic reminds her of? She said its a song off Phrazes for the Young by Julian Casablancas, someone I had thought I had never heard of. I ask because when i looked up the album on Spotify, I discovered I had already added "11th Dimension" to over a dozen of my playlists already.. so is that the same one? Just a random thought. Love the vids! And while I'm here, I'd suggest 1999 by Joey Bada$$ at some point. Classic but modernized boom bap east coast production with Amazing storytelling for a 17 year old

Love that you guys react to classics like "Man On The Moon". I highly recommend the album "The Search" by NF - it's already considered a classic by some. It's a profound well-written, self-reflective album with very strong emotion, mental health, and cinematic beats
