My Widebody Porsche 993 NEEDED This...
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I said I liked the Porsche 993 because it was so good out of the factory and didn't need many mods, and that I wouldn't have to work on it much... yet here I am adding mods. And working on it.
These are the essentials, however! The ride height was TOO HIGH and messed up when I bought the car and I finally got it addressed, along with a proper corner balancing and other goodies like a bump steer tie rod kit and MSI extended wheel studs. It looks so much better now and is one big step closer to my perfect 993.

CM Autohaus is the man! Love how he’s very detailed in his work
Dry ice blasting should take the coating off the underside.

Philipp Henke That might work, but does not get around the corners or into the nooks and crannies into which there is no line of sight.
All your builds has been incredibly tasteful and clean. Underrated car channel, keep up the good work.

I'm really digging this car. Think it's much more exciting than the Lotus. Keep the content flowing.
How has this not had more views...?
No turbo in the glovebox? I am out ... ;)
Looking better already!
Yeah buddy! I’ve gotta go camera shopping but can’t wait to check this out when I get back. I’m sure it’s excellent!
Just came across your channel. What a super cool car. Looks great. Love the stance and seats. You need to have that thing dry ice detailed.
Beautiful car. Congrats, and good luck on dialing it in!

+1. A fellow Arctic Silver Metallic '98 993 C2S original owner here. . Great channel, keep your posts coming. .. My C2S is fully stock with an LPMM muffler modification. . Cheers,
You always deliver.
I agree with the Dry Ice detailing. Check out some detailing videos where they do that to Porches. The before and after is amazing, Not sure what that costs and what detailing places have that equipment.
🤙Dude that's a pretty good movie!
Already looks even better
love the content

I respect that man's work habits greatly
really hope this car will be your magnum opus
I've a 1996 993 C2 iris blue metallic, 66,000 miles, 6-speed manny tranny, varioram, LSD. No CEL, no oil leaks. I'm never selling it.
What do you think of MK3 supras? I just bought my second one last month!
That gunk on the underside. If it is wax based underseal / rust protection, it is a real pain to get off, especially if it has been there for a long time. I tried steam. No luck even with a degreaser. A friend tried ice blasting. That worked to some extent, but was expensive and only addressed the areas to which you had a clear line of sight. What worked for me was an intensive tar remover, rubbing where possible and several passes with a hot water pressure washer. A friend had access to industrial grade chemicals used to degrease commercial equipment. Those seemed to work as well, but may not be easily available or good for your health if used without appropriate protection.

Looks confirmed to be the cosmoline stuff Porsche puts on these cars from the factory. Might just leave it alone at this point if it's from the factory, or mess with the dry ice + tar remover method in the future, who knows!
Where did you purchase your center caps?
beaut
Smh...no flame thrower kit?! And you’re right, MSI studs are the best around, haven’t been able to find anything better yet.

downside is they're a bit pricy
Looks like the underside was sprayed with cosmoline. You need heat + greaser + elbow grease to remove.
look up cryodetail that tunersmall offers, I'm sure someone on the west coast does the same thing.

Wow that looks perfect, all of the images on their website are of 911 under carriages, Lol
Have you considered Dry Ice blasting? I miss the Lotus, but the Porsche is coming out amazing !!! kzread.info/dash/bejne/qGiFr6uxmLCxlNo.html
how does this compare to your rx7?
Degreaser and steamer to remove grime on the bottom.
im going to play devils-advocate because its a 'yaas qween' echo chamber in the comments: The only way you will ever truly "enjoy" this car (or ANY car you own) is to: >never get on the internet again, >close down your 'car-media-accounts', >stop going to message boards, and >simply drive the car! just drive it. just walk out to it, get in, push the clutch down and turn the key. Its just going to be one "little thing" after another from here on out, untill the car is back-dated to some bizzarre 1960/70's/80's/90's message-board Frankenstein mobile chasing-the-dragon of Astronomically priced 'rare' widgets with "Porsche" written on them. Porsche's are the biggest black hole in ALL of automotive enthusiast community, and the owner/buyer market is a crust of society with $$$$$$$ pockets so deep finances are no longer even a thought for them. Porsche knows this and the community knows this. It has been this way since before your parents were born too, so there is "nothing new under the sun" of Porsche. Thats all there is to it, just "drive" it. Dont even consume so much as a single sentence of input from others on it, be it text, type or in person. just get in the car, turn the radio off and drive. "Perfect" cars dont exist, full-stop.

Just saw this comment but I 100% agree with you. I've been fighting the "just one more thing" paradox my whole life with cars. I'm doing it again to a small scale with this 993, but from the plan I have mapped out, I can assure you it's far less deep of a rabbit hole than many other cars!! The 993 is TRULY one of the few cars that doesn't need much, even though I know it's relative. For example, with other cars like the Exige, I HAD to upgrade things or else it sucked.
Hey I noticed you have Montana license plates on your lotus and Porsche, maybe you could make a vlog about it explaining why you have Montana plates.

things I build In my experience that does not work on a proper wax based underseal / rust protector at least if the stuff is old.
