I didn't show certain things the PowerPoint handles, like sound effects and scoring. The focus of this video was more on the physical stuff I had worked on rather than paranoia2mb's PowerPoint software.
The puzzleboard, podium, and wheel lighting, buzzer buttons, Arduino microcontrollers, and various electronic components were mostly sourced from Adafruit.
I will not answer questions like "how did you make this". I will be more likely to answer more specific questions.

    For everybody that's been asking about another update: There is nothing to show right now. With everything going on right now, I haven't had the resources or frankly the motivation to be working on any of this stuff since not long after the video came out. Thus, haven't really made any progress on stuff shown in the video. In fact, some of it has broken down a bit and considering nobody will be over to play, I haven't even been motivated to fix any of it. In due time... :)

    This is dope! I’m doing this with Jeopardy! in the near future so I can relate + I’ve always wanted to do these Live Action Recreations of both J! and Wheel except I actually get people to be Sajak, White, O’Donnell, Trebek and Gilbert + get it as closely accurate to the real show as possible that’ll even include a Columbia/TriStar, KingWorld, CBS Media Ventures and SPTVS at the end of each Episode! I’m working to improve the equipment and get the money to build this stuff so it’ll be years before I do it myself and until that day comes, I’ll just be doing this Game Night stuff with Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune Video Games to pass time faster! You gained yourself a new subscriber! Keep this up and I hope to see some Game Night Episodes of your own sooner than later!

    Have you heard of OCR before? It could be a neat way to utilize that overhead camera to automatically populate totals for scores. It could act upon the same keystroke of you entering letters to appear on the puzzleboard (and could also automatically run Bankrupt and Lose a Turn effects)

  • @jubjub449

    @jubjub449

    4 жыл бұрын

    I'm aware of OCR. The wedge-encoded solution I was thinking of, though, would be an extension of the way I get the lights under the wheel to chase. I have black and white decals under each peg-width length and an IR sensor opposite so it can detect each "tick" and advance the lights. With enough of these sensors in a row, it would be possible to make something of a barcode to encode each slice of the wheel. The main reason I haven't is because I'm afraid of edge cases where the pointer is juuuuust hanging on, but the sensor thinks it's already advanced to the next space.

  • @supermario0523

    @supermario0523

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@jubjub449 I was thinking that too... Maybe on each pointer indicator though, you can have a pattern , like a plane of 3 black dots, that the OCR program could recognize. Basically, it would see the pattern of 3 dots in a non-rest (tensed) position as the indicator hanging on a peg, therefore not advancing to the next wedge... Whereas if the dots are in a resting position, OCR would know it is cleanly in a space, and not hanging on a peg. Hopefully that makes sense?

  • @jubjub449

    @jubjub449

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@supermario0523 or maybe even a small accelerometer mounted to the underside of the pointer... Any OCR solution would probably need a better camera, the webcam I hung from the ceiling was only 1080p and scaled way up haha
