Brilliant! your a legend for doing this, and the editing, music! Master class, master piece. Thanks.
this is the greatest tutorial i've ever watched
Looks like a substitute to the mere spinner that comes with the Wheel of Fortune board games, starting with the Milton Bradley ones from 1975...
I really respect this video . Very good. This is what everyone needed. Thanks !!!!
thanks for the video i might build one myself someday
OMG thats exactly like the real one!! AWESOME!
This is perfect! Thank you! :D
love the tutorial!!! quick question, how did you print your wedges for both fixed and the other layouts? thank you!
The 72 space pie chart will definitely work for a super wheel of fortune.
Tysm!!
The wheel of fortune theme song year is 1983-1989
@narnia0100 No problem! I'm so glad you like it :)
Good news everyone! I just made my OWN Wheel Of Fortune wheel at the AIM Center in art class. Just a few finishing touches, and I'll be through in no time. I just made the wheel and painted the center circle neon green. The next step is pitting the tacks in, I don't have any nails, but I think the tacks will do just as good. After that, I'll be making the arrows for the wheel to make it spin, and that'll be the final step I'll be doing once I complete my Wheel Of Fortune project.
this is nice i want all the wedges
@whitismygurl07 I recommend nails only because they look better. To secure the particle board to the turntable you just need some masking tape. No screws, glue or anything too fancy.
cool
how did you get the wedges(the 1 million, the mystery wedges, etc..) to stay in place on your wheel?
Can this be used with a 28" layout? I'm probably getting a 30" particle board.
If you were to make an interchangeable layout, would you have to resize your layout on the computer to be a little bit smaller so there is space around the particle board to fit the nails? How much space do you have to leave? How do you know if the wheel layout is going to fit? Thanks! :)
Can you also make a jackpot space the same size on all the other wedges, and a free play wedge?
You would need 23 inches actually. I made that mistake early on. When you center the layout on the board, there are two widths of 1/2" going all the way around the board, if that makes any sense. I'm not sure of the diameter of the nails, but they should be around an eighth of an inch or less. Don't worry about your board showing, if you paint it, it actually looks quite nice. And for punching holes, I have a really tiny hole punch that I used, but you can make do with a tack or a tiny nail.
@whitismygurl07 Yes. If your wheel is that big, you're probably going to have to print one or two wedges on a page.
Hi! Thanks for the quick reply. If you were to leave 1/2 inch around the board, wouldn't you need 23 1/2 inch layouts? How long is the diameter of 2-inch nails? If you leave 1/2 an inch, wouldn't that be too wide and show part of the particle board? What would you use to make the two holes on the flipper and on the podium? I have a 3-hole and 1-hole puncher, but I believe the holes would be too big, and the flipper would be too loose, therefore, the flipper would not work properly. Thanks! :)
Where did you get the turn table? Thanks
They can be as long or as short as you want them to be. I used some that were about 1.5-2 inches long (I forget how long exactly they were.)
@narnia0100 I've never had that happen because the wood and paper seem to hold to each other. When you flip the layout, though, remember to realign the spaces with the nails.
Can I use cardboard in place of particle board
@TheGameShowFan1 By the way, which layout type do you prefer? (Interchangeable or Fixed) and can you also put spray lacquer on the interchangeable layouts?
@ANDYxHAMILL I use it on the floor. I would like to hang it on a wall, but no spinning mechanism works well vertically.
@wrbtrucking I actually found mine at Lowes. I have heard that the selection varies, though. If you have a Home Depot or Ace Hardware in your area, that's probably going to be your next best bet.
We used this in January 14 2013 to make a wheel of fortune wheel using a fixed layout 18 inches

Love hearing this! So glad it helped. :)
Hi! Yes, good thinking! You do. Depending on the size, I would give yourself about 1/2 an inch of room all the way around (if you have a 24" board, you would probably make your layouts 23"). The best way to figure it out is to draw yourself pictures and play around with a test piece of wood to figure out what works out best for your board's size. It takes some trial and error, but once you figure it out, you have an awesome end product! :-)
@whitismygurl07 Basically, I took it into Word, blew it up to 12" (or whatever size your layout needs to be to fit the particle board), and messed around with the text wrapping so the picture could move freely around the page. You have to move the layout to fit within the printing area, print it, and redo the process with a different part of the picture being printed. It's sort of like putting together a puzzle, unless you have access to a large printer.
What would spray lacquer do for the wheel layout once it's glued onto a particle board?

Where did you find the clean 2006 theme song from wheel
I just made my wheel
R.I.P The Gameshowfan1
It's kind of hard to explain... if you think about a square. You have a 2" square. (Draw this... it might make sense more.) Then you have a 1" square. If you put the smaller on top of the larger and center them, there's half an inch all the way around. Meaning you have to double the measurement to account for both sides.
what do i do if i have a black and white printer only
Will the layout board move/shift when you flip it and put it down on the wheel/spin the wheel? Example: 1:07
@qwerty23495 I don't at the moment... what format were you looking for?
trying to make my own at the moment, mostly based off this. do you have a source for the 72 section template for the nails?

I just made a pie chart in Pages (you can do it in Word or a lot of other programs, too). The template is in the PDF in the video's description. :)
What kind of paper I should print? How do I print these?
Do you have the kit in any other format besides PDF?
Is it possible to build a puzzleboard too? It may be a little harder tough.

Use a dry erase board.
Thanks for the quick reply again! What do you mean by the "two widths of the 1/2" going all the way around the board"? Thanks! :)
@rod1014 That's the way it actually is, so IDK why the uploaded used the brownish color over green.
See the link in the description :-)
how do you get it to stand up?
Please make a new link on the wheel layouts, wedges, and arrow templates the original link is broken

How much would you charge me to build me an 18 inch Wheel of Fortune Wheel? I’m willing to pay
I'll send that in a private message right now!
hey, I was planning to do this as a project that my dad and I could work on, I want to make a 24", interchangeable wheel with the season 33 layout, but I can't find a layout without the wedges on the layout. if someone is willing to give me a picture of said layout, that would be very appreciative.

+BarrelBrosGaming Try www.buyavowelboards.com. They have season 33 layout wedges you can print off.
But I want to see you make.
@paranormalchick1 I used duct tape. I'm sure there are better ways to attach the two though.

andrew dwi pangestu it’s simple what you can do is get a clear piece of plastic, cut it into a square and trace a wedge, cut out the trace and on whatever material u want to use trace it again and cut it out .Laminate for dry erase or paint on the letters or numbers and use acrylic glitter paint for a special amount wedge
No. Photo paper is glossier than standard printer paper (aka copy paper). While printer paper will work if it's all you have, it won't look as 'shiny' as photo paper would nor will it be as sturdy as card stock would be.
