Merthyr Tydvill is quite a tough welsh town.

John Bateman was from my neighbourhood, Ely Cardiff, he was a very tough man but not a bully, if you didn't bother him he wouldn't bother you, he passed away a few years ago. Paul Woods was a scary bloke, heard a story about a time he had a fight in Tredegar and battered this bloke, they took the bloke to hospital in an ambulance and Woods followed in a taxi, when the ambulance arrived Woods attacked the bloke again and gave him another hiding, total headcase.

I knew Malcolm extremely well, his best mate was my Uncle Mike Mahoney, and they remained best mates all their lives, he was even the best Man at my Uncle's wedding we still have the film footage of the wedding with Malcolm sitting alongside my Uncle Mike. PS Although Malcolm was an extremely tough guy there were quite a few tough people in Merthyr, it's a very tough town.

Tredegar got some headers there tough town for small area plenty hardmen there. Woodsy and Mike yandle together put fear in people in Tredegar and other towns intimidating people but never go up against few men from there and surrounding towns. Colin James was the one back then hard as nails but gentleman never went looking for it.or wanted to get a reputation didn't go looking to fight other hardmen to see how good he is. He had nothing to prove to anyone but there mistake to try him. Also Wayne steed from Tredegar knocked them out .and Brynmawr back then was tough some top men from there even Bartley gorman came had fight with guy from Brynmawr. And guy he fought wasn't anywhere near as good as at least 4 of Brynmawr top guys who all respected eachother and never fought eachother gentleman like Colin from Tredegar. Probably why pricey never fought people like them as they not out giving it large .no reason to fight them. But Colin James and at least one of Brynmawr top men could been trouble for him

Your mate was right malcolm price in his prime was another level on the street. Seen him myself force of nature. Reason why certain hardmen from London kept from him .pricey traveled to England beat hardmen. Soon as so called best Seen pricey fight and pricey wanted bit of them they always upped the money .they had big London players to back them and put prize money to high fir pricey to raise they done it as didn't want see there top guys lose. Pricey would demolish lenny McLean and they knew it .reason why he said on Ruby wax show he beat best in Scotland and Ireland but never said wales I wonder why

@@benjamin-ri2do ok mate malcolm price was the hardest in wales in his prime mate don't doubt thar, and Steve Richards bit pricey nose off yes but pricey was way past his prime Oldman and drunk , I know who Steve Richards is from Rhymney not a fighter a chancer on drugs who use weapons first, he wouldn't stand a chance with pricey in his prime, don't forget he wasn't just Oldman but also I'll man people younger with no respect all wanted a crack at a past it bard Oldman just to claim themselves a reputation, decent hardmen would left him alone knowing if they couldn't best him in his prime what respect they gain beating Oldman a ill man. Richards was off it and took advantage if any respectful hardman seen thar they would have beaten Richards. Not everything you hear is in a book or a forum people who post crap are ones he probably slapped and now he dead speak utter bullshit

I was in pub in canton at time think it was called the bass house them days and in walks pricey on his own. Found both them in there hiding from him as he shouted he been to there local.what happened next scared life out my mate and me .as he said anyone left in here next 10 seconds are having it .luckily I knew pricey said can I get my Mrs as she was scared hiding in toilet to scared come out .ok he said your safe but everyone else ain't. Yammy. GREAT podcast. Great replies too from serious people who've obviously been over the wall. This idiots reply is 100% made up. If Malcolm Price had ever tore up The Exchange (Bass House) in Canton.... It would be folklore, I DID use to drink there. Its news to me. I suspect this clown is a Swansea City fool trying to score silly points using a dead mans name.

Pricey no1 from merthyr, , Bateman and ferugia from cardiff Dennis Davies, from Brynmawr. Colin James, from Tredegar Peter Morgan, from merthyr, John smith, from Cardiff David pearce from Newport, they were top guys . Paul Woods got his rep from rugby and being a part of a pair bullies from Tredegar yes both could have a scrap but nowhere near guys above woodsy in prime probably give few them bit of a scrap but not for long ,and both got knocked out one after the other by another local hardman in Tredegar and woodsy partner got demolished by pub landlord from Brynmawr who is great guy gentleman who hates bullying and only known to have a fight if there's no other option. Hardman who deserves respect called Kevin Jones ex rugby player who gives respect to everyone treated people how he likes to be treated and looked after everyone who drank in his pub.he the quiet man who few hardmen came unstuck with and others left alone. But best these days is probably chris edwards hard as nails and feared man in cardiff the Rhondda and valleys a nutter to

In the 80s and 90s Merthyr and the upper afan valley had a strong links through boys meeting in prison. Our top boys knew theirs and vice versa. Both valleys produced absolute lunatics and more than their fair share of hard bastrds. The only difference is nobody knows anything about the lads from the upper afan as it's a tiny valley in comparison to the Rhondda valley . Merthyr itself probably has the same amount of people as 3 of the afan's villages lol 😆. One guy called Darrell worrell or "steebo" to those that he knew and loved . That guy was made of iron . Was a cousin of mine but he died from heart attack. I saw him once get pepper sprayed and beaten for a few minutes by about 4 coppers. Only to end up battering the 4 pigs and taking two truncheons off them. They had to practically beg him to stop beating them up before letting him walking home 😆. They waited a few days for him to to calm down then went to his house mob handed to talk him into handing himself in . He got jumped in Swansea by bouncers and had one of them by their neck while swinging punches and dropping anyone who came close enough. Like yammy says the valleys just breeds this type of men . It's the reason it took the Romans so long to even get into Wales and even longer to partly subdue the Welsh I think lol. I know Britain has these type of men all over the island but that's just my little story and a name you've probably never heard of and will never hear of of apart from right here and now as I'm saying it.
