My trip for a Hydro Assist on the Jeep Gladiator JT, 🇺🇸 Redneck Ram!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

When selecting a hydro assist for our shop Jeep Gladiator JT I turned to my good friends at West Texas Off-Road and the Redneck Ram. Come with us as we travel to their shop for a little how-to. Exodus4x4.com 🔻Expand for more info🔻
This is the first time a Redneck Ram has been installed on a Jeep JT Gladiator so I decided to head up to West Texas Off-Road for a little how-to and Vlog on the install so that we can install them for you. As always, this is not a sponsored install, it was chosen and paid for by us. We chose Redneck Ram because it's a great product. It can be installed on any Jeep model and it's priced reasonably compared to other hydro assist brands. We do not sell this on our website, but we do sell and install them at our custom Jeep Shop.
Who are we? A custom Jeep shop in central Texas, the honest type. Oh, and we have a curated website for Jeep parts. We only list the products we would put on our Jeep and stay away from the crap.

Wow, I learned something. My little HHR has electric power steering and it acts up sometimes, I wonder if it's low on fluid. Now I just got to find the reservoir :D

Does the wheel still recircle back after turns with this? I haven’t modded jeeps since my TJ a decade ago and it had full hydro and I hated it because I never knew where the wheels were pointed after a turn. Also how does this compare to the other big name brand of hydro assist?

That explains why I've got to fabricate a bracket, and why the 4 identical tabs they send are completely worthless. Wish I'd have gone PSC

OK, its been in for a week or so.... you went to K2.... How is it doing? My JT steering is giving me fits and the standard answer is: "its a Jeep thing". Did it take care of the dead 1/2" play in the steering wheel?

harley rice what kind of fits? The hydraulic assist steering tightened everything up on ours. Synergy makes a track bar brace and pitman arm brace that helps take some of the slop out. You might start there.

@@Exodus4x4 Mainly the the steering wheel slop is what is annoying; especially at highway speed, say 50 to 70. My wife's JK steering feel is better. I just got the Synergy track bar / sector shaft brace. It will go on this weekend so I'm hoping that will clear up a bit... my personal opinion is there is an issue with the hydro-electric pump. It has been in JEEP shop 2x and both time I've been told there is nothing wrong. Running 35's w/ 2.5" spacer in front and 3/4" spacer in rear.

@@Exodus4x4 just an update: track bar/sector shaft brace... did not help. next step is new track bar, tie rod and drag link.

I don’t think changing out the steering linkages will correct it, but adding a ram assist made all the difference in the world on ours. I’d go straight to hydro-assist.
