Thanks Matt. I've been struggling a while to disguise the topspin, most of the times I just change between light underspin / heavy underspin. This shall be a gamechanger now. 👍✌️

I have been working on my own top spin serve. I call it the net roll. It puts the ball close to the net on both sides and if you get it just right, it will roll over the net (as the name suggests) making it almost impossible to return, and if your opponent does return, they are forced to play a short return and high, making it easy to slam it back. Only downside is it's easy to hot the net your side of you don't give it exactly enough power. I'm very new to table tennis but I'm absolutely loving it 😅

Isn't it called a Kicker when you do a backspin aftermotion
@MHTableTennis
5 ай бұрын
Doesn’t necessarily matter what the aftermotion is, it’s about the ball bounce. If the ball bounces up or forward sharply then yes it’s a kick serve. Anytime the ball bounces or changes trajectory sharp is a kick serve

I think the real deal with this serve is for the opponent to misinterpret the ball's rotation. If the ball comes too high away from net, he will think that the ball comes with underspin, so or he'll do chop the ball or try a heavy topspin, which will make the ball flow even higher to the server's side, or even go off the table.

@@jasper8368 it’s very difficult to judge the kick. I played a tournament last weekend and I jumped the ball over the top of three separate players’ rackets when they tried to swing at it. Obviously placement is important but this is purely a demonstration video. It’s really a very difficult serve to simply rip even if you think you see if coming. A chinese province player or some international players yes I could see them attacking it, but the majority of players struggle to read and adjust to receiving this well.
