Man, those are some nice looking cards!!! The 1953 Mantle is beautiful and is ungraded, rougher and has a pen mark on the back, but it is still a beautiful card and my personal favorite Mantle card.

Thanks Richard! My 53 Mantle is one of my favorite cards. In terms of Mantle I’m torn between the 52 Bowman and 53 Topps as to which one I like better. If I had his 54 Bowman card that would be up there as well.

@@WadeBoggsFan I love them all! I first encountered baseball cards at age 6 in 1959. Growing up in Delaware, I became a lifelong Mantle fan. I started collecting vintage complete sets in 1986 and the 59 Topps set was on of the first I went after.

Wow, fantastic list! Really great looking cards in so many cases, buying the card and not the number on the slab. Love cards that look better than their assigned grade, you can buy so many more cards that way!

Thanks Ryan! That’s my exact philosophy. With a limited budget and wanting to get as many cards as I can dropping down a grade or two and still getting a nice looking card allows me to use the money I’d save for other vintage cards. I don’t need to spend a lot of money on a card to get it in a high grade. I’m more into nice quantity than quality.

Wow, John what an awesome group of cards, loved every one of them! I am a huge 71 Topps fan, and Yaz in an 8 is a great card. Your 56 Aaron is also super sweet. All of your Mantles kept getting better and better, think my overall favorite is your 53 Mantle just love that card!

I really enjoyed both of these. You have some beautiful cards. I love that 52 Bowman Mantle!!! Of course as a Braves fan I love all the Aaron's and that beautiful Spahn. The Spahn is one I have been eyeing down.

Thanks! I do too. All the newer quarterbacks get the attention these days and of course all of Brady’s rings put him in the shadows. For for his time I think Montana was the best.

John, I absolutely loved this video! I only have 2 cards in your Top 50, the 1954 Topps #250 Ted Williams and the 1953 Topps Mickey Mantle. You have an amazing Top 50! I was sad to see that your stunning 1952 Topp Bob Feller did not make the list. I think that is a testament to how awesome your Top 50 list is! ☺ Oh, I forgot to mention: Congrats on the exponential price appreciation of your Bowman Chrome Trout RC!

Thanks Adam! With the way you are building your collection I’m sure you could put together a great top 50 yourself! My 52 Feller did make my list. It was #37 that I showed off in the first video. And the Trout was my first ever “speculative” purchase so I did do well. I also bought the entire 2011 Topps Update set for like $150 and now it’s worth over $1,000. But I should have bought a graded Trout as well. 🤷🏻‍♂️

My fav is the 52 Bowman Musial.

My grandfather has thousands of 40s-60s cards and I begg him all the time to let me look through them and he won't, lol he always is like when I die I tell you what- you can have em. He did say he had some Mantle's, Ruth's and J Robinson's. So one day I'll have the chance to see what he has.

That’s really cool Jay. I’m not sure how old you are but if he won’t show them to you now maybe he can tell you how long he’s been collecting or how he came to own them. Knowing the background of your grandfather’s collection may be just as interesting and important than the cards themselves. The cards will always be around but your grandfather won’t be.

Well it is a list of my vintage baseball cards so his cards wouldn’t be included. If I included my Boggs cards as well I might only have a couple that would make the top 10.

41 minutes way to long I will give you 20 minutes then move down and check out the top 5! I like the Henderson , Mays , 75 Brett , Yaz rookie , Aaron 1956 , So a 1960 Yaz in a 5 goes for 269.00 and his 1971 in an 8 goes for 283! what does his rookie go for in a 8? bet it's more than 283 I will guess and say 300.00 if you can find an 8? I was told that the 53 Reese is the most beautiful card of all time , interesting top 5 very nice..

Thanks Mark. Yaz’s rookie card in an 8 goes for around $2,600. There have been 5 cards graded an 8 that have sold within the last two months so they aren’t too hard to find. There have been nearly 600 of his rookie cards that have been graded a PSA 8.
