My Top 5 Euro Nymph Patterns For Fly Fishing // Best summertime Euro Nymphing flies

Спорт

I was out testing some new patterns this week and with summer approaching, I thought it would be good to share some of my top euro nymphing patterns for summer. These would be my top 5 summertime confidence euro nymphs if I was forced to pick. They aren't in any specific order so I'll leave that to the imagination :)

While I have my own "5 favs," I have to say this was really fun to watch and I like the rationale behind each fly. Of course whatever waters we fish have a lot to do with our selection, but the rationale is very similar. Great vid amigo!

Great list. I count on the pheasant tail, hare's ear, wooly bugger and a kiwi muddler. Late last season I started learning about the flies you use and it seems my catch rate has increased. Fun to tie and exciting to use. Thanks for sharing your list.

Perdigon is my fav. I don’t fish as big of rivers as you do. But the sink rate. Makes them drop in places no other fly will get to. Other then that, thread Frenchie or blowtorch. But if I see a nice hole where I think a big trout could be laying I always will tie on that jig. And a soft hackle on the dropper usually. Essentially the same list. Except my experience with Perdigons is never a miss. Unless the fish are high in the water column.

Yeah for sure, nice. I only said it’s hit or miss on that pattern because it’s a bright attractor type pattern. Frenchie and blowtorch are so solid

  • @FlyingTies

The biggest difference is in rod weight and accuracy. If you are just starting out I would say it's not worth it, but if you have been fishing this way for a few years you will appreciate the differences.
