I'm glad that Cary listed his top 5. I've lost track from the other content creators who've done this but their lists are like "5 worst games!" "Top 5 PLUS 28 other games I love!!" etc etc. -_______- It's such a simple task but nobody can understand the parameters. It's like, Choose your favorite dog breed; "Well I love corgis, but I also have a golden doodle, black lab, dachshund, seven cats and a ferret."

Hey Cary. I totally get where you are coming from. I am new to pinball. I've only been playing for a few months. But I have purchased my first game, Godzilla Pro. I love that game, but it frustrates me so much because, try as I might I just can't hit that damn scoop shot. Anyways, We spend out entire day staring at computer screens, at work at the phone and finally at home watching TV, which is just another computer now a days. It's so refreshing to play pinball because it is analog. Its real. I can put my hands on it and shake it and manipulate it. It's not fake, its not "virtual". I love the games and can't wait to get my second game, Pulp Fiction. Already ordered. :) Cheers mate, keep up the good work.

Totally agree. Tech is great and tech is bad. Video games are fun but I find they get me too amped up the older I get. Pinball and a beer is the best!

What a great video. Ghostbusters, Tales From The Crypt, Elvira HoH, Judge Dredd, Medival Madness. I was born in 1985 and consider myself the last generation to truly enjoy life before the digital takeover. My fondest childhood memories are of my mom taking me to our local bowling ally or 7/11 and running inside to see what arcades and pins were there. The best part was finding a theme you loved, it was like hitting the lottery! My mom used to let me stay up late and watch Tales From The Crypt, it was our thing. Popcorn and movies were our favorite thing to do besides hit the arcades. So imagine my excitement when my favorite horror show had a pinball machine made after it... Honestly all the Data East Pins were my stomping grounds for pinball as a kid when I think of it. LW3, Batman, TFTC, LAH, Starwars etc. So I guess playing pinball reminds me of a time in my life when things were stress free my mom was still alive. Playing pinball definitely brings on a rush of emotion every time I play, from great memories to relaxing and not thinking at all (Almost like a meditation?) It's something I can't wait to pass on to my son and also something my wife and can do together in a relaxed just enjoy setting or also a very serious I'll kick you ass kinda way too.

Great video, like your choices for best pins, and loved your take on digital/phones/tablets! I love digital pinball, because...well, it's affordable, and it's still pinball (not as good as the real thing, obviously) and you can learn the rule sets to be prepared for the real thing. I grew up in the '60's, playing my Grandfather's Gottlieb Humpty Dumpty, hooked ever since. The new pins are works of art, but more than I can afford. My only physical table is Gorgar, but I love it, and you gave me advice on restoration years ago, thank you Cary! Your content and production are fantastic, keep it up✌

Cary, what a lovely video. First it's The Shadow making it to your list. Then you go on about modern day entertainment and how mobile technology basically keeps people from interacting with each other. It all resonates with me quite a lot. I'm into pinball (and, since last week, analog photography) for exactly the same reasons. I wonder if there'll be an EM on your list next year. If so, I'm putting my bet on 4MBC with its cross playfield skill shot. And i'm sure you'll discover the prewars in a few years as well. ...or maybe not. It takes a special kind of crazy to dive into that stuff. 😅 Anyhow, keep 'em coming. You're an asset to the community.

I really like Deadpool and I think it's GG's best layout.

My goal after going through this rough divorce is going to be after I start over with finding housing and being stable probably take me a couple years is to save up and buy a pinball machine. I have a digital one and it’s fine but again it’s not a real pin, when I go to the pinball arcade by work and put on my headphones to listen to my music, cause it’s so loud in there I can’t hear the pins, I can forget my problems and the world for a few hours. I have very few lights down this dark path, but pinball is helping me a lot and giving me a fun goal to aim for.

Damn….I’ve only watched a few of your vids (loved the how-to cleaning/waxing & most recently the pinball Olympics) but this video was seriously awesome. Couldn’t agree with your sentiments more about how and why people love pinball. Earned a like and subscribe from me, thanks! ✌️

Great video! Me, I'd never really thought about, "Why pinball?", but I think maybe it's because unlike life, you're always rewarded for following the rules and doing what's been asked of you.

JP 30th arrived a week ago… first game… my wife and daughter love it… this thing will never go anywhere….

Brother first time I’ve ever commented. Great video and the last half was spot on!! Really spoke to me. Life is made up of little things that have the biggest impact. Pinball is one of those for me snd obviously you too.

Jurassic park is such a great game. Just got the moving T. rex head for my pro. I particularly like hitting the raptor pit, and occasionally the ball path will do something crazy out of nowhere. Some great coded moments in it also.

Amen on the media saturation and the endless zombie phone usage. Reminds me of that Trek episode where everyone is hooked on those crazy holo headsets. I will say this. I am a member of a large pinball group that plays competitively. When I go those events, we stand around and talk to each other and don't stare at our phones. Oh sure there's one or two guys you'll catch from time to time doing it but the reasons are usually legit. In general, it's way more social than 'social networks'. I love pinball but I spent my formative years in a roller skating rink beating people much older than myself at both pinball and fooseball. That's right I said it, fooseball. lol. Love your show!

Once again I find myself agreeing with your choices. My top five is slightly different, but I absolutely love my DPLE and it is also in my top 5. But STTNG is my number 1. I love the theme, I love the layout, I love the toys…an absolute Steve Richie masterpiece. What I find myself disagreeing with is all the tables that get so much hate from pinside.

Great list, Cary! I'm glad to see Deadpool made your list. For the record, I also own a Pro and have had a lot of time on the Premium. Personally, I prefer the Pro and don't miss the left orbit to right flipper Dazzler shot...especially when you consider the price difference. Also, nice shirt, man! 😉

the Jurassic Park in your video doesn't have metal washers under the star posts because the playfield clearcoat/paint was pooling up before it ever left the factory. that's why I don't have Jurassic Park on my list lol. the playfield in my pro was sooo oooey gooey...

That's why I got the movie code installed. It's not the theme that sold me - it's how it shoots. The theme is mainly for my daughter.

I dont REALLY know why i like pinball but i do lol, i guess the challenge and unpredictability and the physical aspects of the machines. I just wish they were a tad more affordable

Your list is terrific, but I feel how you feel about JP about godzilla. It doesn't commute how someone doesn't love that. As for deadpool, I don't like the luck component involved for scores to be good (if your snkt shot doesn't work, you simply can't have a good game). To me, that's a fatal flaw.

Pinball can also burn a hole through your wallet like nothing else I've experienced. I'm not rich or poor. I don't understand how people can plop $15k down on a pinball machine and they have 40 of them. Perhaps this is a topic you can share at some point. That said I'm new to this. My son and I got our first pinball machine back in Feb of this year(2023) and now we have 6 (2 are awaiting restoration) and we have 2 sleep overs. None of our games are super expensive. Most are late 70's or 80's classic and that's fine with us, we love them. Our first machine was a LW3 and is our only "modern" game. As I stated before this has burned a hole right through the wallet. I know some people have been doing this for 20+ years. You buy, sell buy sell. Or you find a way to earn off the hobby. Mods, service calls, restoration (what we plan to do), become a KZreadr 🤣, etc. If you think this is an interesting topic I'd like to hear more. I've just touched the surface and then just briefly so there's much to cover. Cheers

Great vid again. Currently saving for my 1st machine and it's probable be TMNT, Deadpool or JP which happens to be my current top 3. Curious about your opinion on TMNT. I really do have great time with this machine. Almost a connection. On the other hand, I'm a rare person who don't really appreciate Godzilla. I Mean it's not bad by any means. But if feel too center empty to me. All Shots entering points are in the surroundings and I don't appreciate it as much.

Yeah thanks! Just rewatched it. I meant , do you miss it sometimes? To me it is a fantastic game. I really like the way FF shoots too. But Will never own it. It gets on my nerve after 30+ minutes. But, it is pretty much true for all music pin for me. Good on location not for owning. Looking forward to see upcoming games from Jack Danger.
