    the pickman fold is awesome. then.. oragami. you explained the steps very well. i am glad you filmed behind you because i learn better as if seeing the steps thru your eyes as youre doing it. i dont do well when facing people demonstrating steps to things it flips my brain in reverse confusion. thankyou for this video. and all your videos. youre very informational and pleasant to listen to. your voice is calm and soothing.

    I really love the origami fold! I tend to enjoy Folds that keep all the absorbency in the middle. If you like the origami fold you might like the pickman too! I'm happy to hear you like cloth ❤️ I know it's not for everyone but it can be life changing on unexpected ways for those who do choose it. Also, thank you!

    I'm so glad I found your channel! I'm learning so much! I'm expecting #2 soon and have gotten more adventurous in my cloth diaper journey. I clothed with my first but only 1 type and the samd brand which worked really well, but now I'm using all your info to help me figure out what exactly I want to try the second time around. I guess I didn't realize how many we'd go through when using 2-3 per diaper change. lol my stretchy flats are taking SO long to dry inside. I underestimated how long it would take. I'm definitely feeling better today! I have a Doctor's appt tomorrow. I think I'll VLOG a day in the life of a flats challenge tomorrow and have it up on Saturday.

    I'm wondering how well it'll work for newborn poop since it's so trim in the crotch. It's like the origami fold, imo, but much better lol. My girls are front wetters so I like that I can fold down the front for added absorbency in the wet zone.

I am going to check out dharma dyes, thanks for the tip 👍🏻😀

    I really like the origami, but now that my girl has hit 20# it isn’t quite wide enough to wrap the tabs properly and snappi it. We use FSTs so it would probably work better with an actual flat. I am loving the neat fold right now, pretty trim and the wings have several layers so I am not as worried about poking my baby with the snappi!

    Could I put a flat on my pocket diaper but stuff it with my cbi insert

  • @JaysNest

    6 жыл бұрын

    Yes, of course! JUst pad fold the flat then stick the cbi with it. You can put the cbi on top of the flat, below the flat, or put it inside of the flat. There are so many ways you can use a flat paired with an insert inside of a pocket.

    Hi ! How many time do you wash flats before first use?

  • @JaysNest

    @JaysNest

    4 жыл бұрын

    I always do a basic 3 washes. Different fabrics need to be prepped a little differently. COtton would be fine at 3 washes. Bamboo usually needs 3-5. Hemp can sometimes need 7-12 washes. A lot of it depends on the brand. I always take into consideration what the brands recommends for their product. I am a bit lazy though and I just do 3. But for hemp and bamboo flats I just keep them on for a shorter amount of time if theyre not fully prepped. That has seemed to work out well for me these past few years.

    Are you using half flats or newborn flats? I had a few newborn stretchy flats that measured 20x20 and they worked pretty well. Willow chunked up so fast that idk if a non stretchy newborn flat would've worked for us. lol I personally found 24 x 24 the easiest to fold for a newborn.

    Hey, um, a lady who uses disposables told me that if the explosion happens away from home, you have to carry dirty diapers around in a bag with you, however many they soil. How do you handle flatfolds on the go, or are they more like lockdown diapers?

    Interestingly enough - my daughter has more blowouts when she wears disposables versus cloth diapers. And anytime I go anywhere I bring a wet bag (or a plastic grocery bag - whatever you have on hand) and extra clean clothes and diapers and wipes. It's really not that more difficult then disposables. There are more steps to take and to clean but it's really not *harder* to do it. Honestly I find it a little bit addictive 😅

    Lovely video. I have two kids and had 3 miscarriages the last year. It seems like no pregnancy is there to stay. How did you cope with miscarriage and how long did it took you to get pregnant again with an 'actual' baby? I wonder? Greetings from Berlin, Germany

  • @JaysNest

    @JaysNest

    5 жыл бұрын

    Coping with miscarriage is hard. I took time to cope by letting myself feel sad, letting myself mourn, and cry. When you lose someone you will find yourself going through the grieving process and it's best to let it flow. It's hard but it's best to allow yourself to feel and heal. 5 stages of grief: -denial -anger -bargaining -depression -acceptance For me, I got pregnant right away after my miscarriages. The first miscarriage I was pregnant within the next cycle. My second miscarriage I was pregnant again within 3 cycles. It's different for everyone though. My sister has had a rough TTC journey over the past 12 years. Her first was a still born. Her second child is living (10 years old) but has a rare uncurable degenerative disease, and she has suffered through 6 other miscarriages. And for her, the pain of losing a child hurts every time. A positive pregnancy test is painful every time. I'm not sure if she will ever have another baby again. It's always hard saying... especially when you have living children and lots of non-living children. I don't understand why miscarriages happen. And I hope you never have to go through another one again
