SWIV was the shizzle back in the day

#72 Ah Street Rod, one of my favorite games. Admittedly I only first played it around 2000-2001 but I loved it. I was playing it on PC at the time. When I learned it was on Amiga and saw those screenshots I was amazed how much better it looked. I immediately fired up an Amiga emulator to play it!

It was the sound effects and music that made me nostalgic

This is probably my favorite Amiga game list, at least partly because it's the one I agree with the most. Also, I like that your clips aren't long and drawn out: nothing worst than watching five minutes from a game that you think sucks. Thanks for your efforts here.

Thanks for using the Amiga game music instead of some horrible techno song that most others use for the soundtrack.

If you happen to not know the game, this seems confusing. It has multiple modes, including two ski modes, that half-pipe snowboarding, tube sliding and yeeting snow balls at others :)

Love how Operation Thunderbolt say's "Gather Intelligence Information" then you proceed to just blow the shit out of everyone and everything!

I call for a remake of Supercars 2. Loved that game so much

Good old Times, I never forget.

Awesome graphics. I was born in 1980 and the first time I played a game was in 1988. And still playing games to this day. Trying my absolute hardest to get as much retro gear as possible. Yesterday I got a PSP with Wipeout Pure and Medal of Honor Heroes. Last week I got a PS2 with GTA: San Andreas, Max Payne, and Socom: US Navy Seals. GTA and Max Payne didn't work so I gave them back, but I have to say that I'm loving Socom. You can do so much. You can crouch, lean, command two teams, change the firing modes on your main weapon. It's properly tactical. They don't make shooters like that any more. Soon I'll have most of the retro consoles from the last 2 decades and hopefully this system too. And doesn't else hear the theme music for Assault on Precint 13 in the game Xenon 2 Megablast? Game number is 73.

Lost patrol brings back alot of memories, especially when the platoon puts a handgrenade in your backpack.

My favourite Amiga games where: GODS, Chaos Engine, Toki, Rainbow Island, Pang, New Zealand Story, Kick Off 2, Desert Strike, Jungle Strike, F29 Retaliator, Silent Service 2, Superfrog, PGA Tour Golf, the entire Alien Breed collection, the Dizzy games, R-Type, Mortal Kombat 1, Street Fighter 2, Speedball 2, Future Basketball, Final Fight... can't think of anymore!

Earl Weaver Baseball, Three Stooges, M1 Tank Platoon, Faery Tale Adventure, North & South, TV Sports Baseball and TV Basketball, It Came from the Desert among others would've been on my list. Basically I stuck with Cinemaware, EA, and Microprose games as my favorites with my Amiga 500.

I love this list!!! You've included so many games I thought were amazing that I haven't seen on other lists. Panza Kickboxing was incredible. I till remember the fact that you could assign the moves to joystick direction. I'd never seen that before. Still one of the most pleasurable martial arts games along with IK+ I have ever played.

I was more into demos than games on the Amiga; Your 40th is on my 1st. I loved the C64 for games. The Amiga games that really stood out to me was point and click ones.

Dune 2, Eye of the Beholder 2, Syndicate, Zak McCracken, Flashback, Moonstone, Chaos Engine, Pinball Dreams. I think they're my favorites.

So many Amiga games had such catchy music, too. Still sounds great today.

The Hostages theme music will forever be etched in my mind. I catch myself regularly humming the theme even though I haven't played it in 30 years. So memorable.

Hostages. I remember playing the NES version but it was called Rescue embassy mission. Loved that game. Never knew there was a version on Amiga.

This is like a therapy for me...

Syndicate? Monkey island? Dune 2?! Great list anyway though!

Bard's Tale II - Destiny Knight, Fate - Gates of Dawn, Ambermoon, Elite, Popolous, Syndicate, Bionic Commando, Star Glider 1 + 2, Take Them Out, Mission Impossible, Kick Off 2, Sensible World of Soccer, Turrican II, Superstar Ice Hockey, Chambers of Shaolin, F16-Falcon, Gunship, X-Out, etc.... so many good Amiga games (or adaptiations from C64).

Great fun! Some games I remember. Thanks for taking the time to make this list.

Excellent list, as always with these things, they are subjective. I got an Amiga late in its life to play Championship manager and I had no idea of the true ability of the system until now. Some really impressive games on the system and games I didnt realise had even been ported.

Some great Amiga gaming memories there. The Secret of Monkey Island (1990) was a classic. The jousting parts in particular were really funny.

Almost all of my amiga games were pirated. I've lived in a country where it was impossible to get licensed software. The few originals I had was those gotten to me by my father when he was traveling abroad. Days before the internet so copies costed almost as much as originals.

You're welcome :) The Amiga sure was impressive back in the day. If you look at the competition when it was popular, you might even say it was the best. If you feel like trying it out there's a great emulator called WinUAE, or simply buy one. Still quite cheap.

+Erik Sundstrom yeah I know still have an amiga 500 hooked up till today used it yesterday but I mean 1 meg ram still was not enough for most programmers to use music and fx at the same time. There are so many bad arcade conversions on the amiga only lazy ports of the atari st games ported over by the crappy US Gold. The Amiga can do so much better if used wisely and correctly in assembler language look at the turrican games as example!

I totally agree with the first place. Was young but I'll never forget. I remember Ween, too. Was fucking scary and impressive

wow I missed out on some great games back then. I had about 100 games total; watching yours reminded me of great memories playing Street Rod 2, Pang, Type-R, Loopz, Lemmings, Ishido, Crazy Cars 3 and Super Cars 2. My absolute favorites were Disc and Silkworm 4, for Silkworm I had the first 80% or so of the game memorized, a playthrough took like an hour before I got to the part where it was hard/new. Another World looked amazing for what we had at the time, wow.

My fave gaming/computer system off all time. So many classic and innovative games came out on the Amiga. Way ahead of it's time in my opinion. Great vid by the way ;-)

Keep in mind: 16bit system, first home computer that supported multitasking desktop, first one that offered CD-Rom, legendary Motorola 68000 chip, AmigaOS has been inspiration to Linux Kernel and so on and so on... Waaaaay ahead of its time, waaaaay ahead...

First off all why on earth is *Panza Kick boxing* so low , that game was definitely a top 20 game , my favourites were - *Populous 1-2(my fav) , Megalomania , Power Monger , Another World , Super Cars 2 , Syndicate , Celtic Legends , Moonstone! , Betrayal , Castles , Alien Breed! , Chuck Rock , Rainbow 6, Bubble Bobble (loved that game) , R-Type , Lemmings, Prince of persia , Indiana Jones , Narc , Turrican 1&2* I think I could go on... Amiga in my opinion was the most fun I've ever had for video games was just amazing and unique ! and made my childhood that extra special!

I remember Agony, Apydia, Killing Game show, Nitro, Jim.Power, project x, Leander, Toki, Vrooom, Fire and Forger 2, Yo Joe, Batman, Ninja Warriors, Dragon Ninja, Overlander, Jaguar xj 220, Battle Squadron 2, silkworm, Swiv,.F29.retaliator, océan Beach Volley, sensible soccer, kick off 2, R-Type, Switchblade, Alien Breed, Driving Force, Unreal (so beautyful).. And so on... Amiga was an awesome computer

#1 pick is spot on - best game ever! - I would have moved Heroquest and especially Wings of Fury into the top 10 tho.

I remember when I played a lot of these games when I was really young, especially Arabian nights thanks for posting awesome video!

No one remembers Eye of the Beholder?? Surely the greatest Amiga game ever??

Thanks for the memories :) The Amiga had an amazing soundchip. One of my favorites was BC Kid, or PC Kid as it's known in Japan, or Bonk as it's known in the west lol. Great list :)

We all do. But now we have a choice of buying overpriced ancient hardware that will most likely not last long, or emulate it on pc's. Thats not what i want, i want a brand new amiga that does not have a $1000 pricetag, and runs amiga500 games without any bs.

The best epic games from Amiga worthy playing 30 years after are still: Moonstone, Toki, Centurion first game from Total War series, Lost Dutchman mine, Pang well choseing 100 games is right decision bcs were truly so many good games. Only problem is playing them without joystick is pane in the ... 😆 like Sensible world of soccer. Or even first Pirates ! Worms, Reunion, Allo Allo, and many many more...

Yeez, had all forgotten about those self combusting indjuns 😄 One of the best lists I’ve seen; so many forgotten awesome games, yet there were so many others as well. But also great looking games I had never heard of.

Thank you! There are so many entries i played but forgot.That Arabian Nights let me pondering because it's a technical very good title i didn't know. At the time we were all in the scene and looked at hundreds of the games.. great collection and i see there are so many more, everybody had his experiences, but many matches to my favorites!

Ah so many games of this list I remember having played on the Amiga, or conversions on consoles (often inferior of course). It is tempting to get an Amiga again but these days there are alternative ways of playing Amiga games, and so many new games as well.

TheDutchGhost There's no real reason besides nostalgia to get the actual Amiga 500. (I have two and much rather play it emulated than the crappy mouse and my cheap plastic joysticks.)

#97 lost patrol. I played this so much when I was a kid. Didn’t understand it much tho. I did learn a thing or two about war when I got older.

Great list but my favourite games of all time ever on any console are the secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2. I will play them for the rest of my life I love them so much.

I once had both original anti-piracy spin disks with ''dial-a-pirate'' for MI1 and something with ''mix & mojo voodoo ingredients'' for MI2. I lost the ''voodoo'' one for MI2 and I still cry about it before I go to sleep sometimes ;)

It's the sounds that trigger the memory the most like when the marble smashes , audio sfx in God's, games that I don't really remember bit recognise the FAX, I remember visuals like James pond and lotus turbo challenge

Can't you read the title?! It says "MY" top 100 Amiga games. He also says some of the big names are missing because he never owned or played them.

An awesome trip down memory lane, that said I do still play my AMIGA, nice to see Goal! placed so high, and there are a few titles here that I definitely need to check out as we have similar taste in games.

Sometimes think nintendo 8bit get all the glory/nostalgia but amiga 500 had some amazing games. Personally might have gone with speedball 2 as nr1 myself the replayability of that game... But hard to argue against such titles as cannon fodder(war never been so much fun), sim city and another world. Not played as many games as you have but its a good list. Cant remember if i sold my amiga im kinda tempted to replay those oldies

Xenon 2 and Turrican! Holy shit I am glad I found your video. I wish I could find the other game I'm looking for. You're going through some light maze levels with goldish walls and a purple back ground. One of the enemies is sort of jittery because it is constantly moving at you and bounces off walls.

also loved Centurion, Jean Of Arc North & South , Sim City 2 and Sim City Terrain Populous F16 flight Simulator Dragons Lair

6:53 The way the characters are moving reminds me a lot about the game Yie Ar Kung Fu on the C=64

Amiga 500, 1987, considered low end... What the fuck??? This thing is incredible. I was stuck with an IBM 286 and a NES at the time..
