Had someone say to me the other day that they didn’t know who Hank Green was because they “just recently got a TikTok”.... I was flabbergasted, for lack of a better word (yes I went over the entire history of Vlogbrothers with them)

TBH both of the Green brothers are arguably least famous for being the vlogbrothers. John's book sales are definitely higher than the number of vlogbrothers subscribers, and I think Hank's might be too (but for some reason book sales numbers are not usually public? Always weird when information doesn't exist on the internet...) Crash course and sci show also both have much higher subscriber/viewer numbers than vlogbrothers. And they founded vidcon, although not many people are aware of that.

it's still wild to me that i've been watching vlogbrothers since 2012 and somehow missed the old video with stefan where hank elaborated on the sexuality thing. i had noticed hints over the years but the "well first of all eehhh" was still the first time it was more explicit and i'm just like. i thought i've always vibed with hank more because of music and science but lol nope
