@@jokmong2360 I don't think the FP30 is a BAD piano, especially for a beginner or someone who doesn't care too much about all the other sounds beyond the classic piano, and someone who doesn't need to connect it to speakers via line out. Unlike the ES110, the FP30 has weighted Keys, which I think is better for practicing if you're a beginner. It has some issues, but you shouldn't want to get rid of it just because it isn't perfect. No digital piano is perfect, especially in that price range.

I bought my mp11 SE a year ago. On your advice. It's a joy to play, and, inspiring, which surprised me. I also found the Nord Grand fantastic, but the Kawai had the edge for me as a pianist. My accoustic piano, old Schimmel, needs replacing or a thorough overhaul but I keep putting that off as I now mostly practice on the mp11. Thank you James for the great content. Also - for the P-515 and most likely the other instruments ----- there will normally be a setting to adjust the brightness a bit. I've heard some anecdotes on forums and such that digital piano actions such as the pha-4 will get 'clicky' over time. The ES110 keys are said to get 'bouncy' or the keys can scrape together due to imperfect spacing. Do you have any thoughts on which mechanisms are the most durable over time or are issues related to wear just inevitable on entry level-ish keyboards no matter the make/model? Is it expected for people to open up relubricate and replace the cushioning strips inside every so often? I'd like an affordable unit for my first board, but I don't mind spending twice as much if it'll last twice as long thanks, love your work

On the other hand, MP7SE has 256 voices of amazing quality I guess? and in my country, Slovenia MP7SE is cheaper for 1000€.😁 Is it still worth buying MP11SE instead?

  • @ThePianoforever

As much as I like the SV2, the acoustic pianos are honestly a little weak for its price class to me. They're OK for general live stage use, but they don't sound incredible on their own, or compared to something like the ES110 which has a more realistic tone and response in my opinion.

Hi James :) This was a very interesting video for sure!!! I have a complex question, sorry :) I will ask it in the simplest form first in case you latch onto what I am asking real quick, and then explain it out further. I sing, but I don't play. Will any of these or some other keyboard be my accompaniment so i don't have to go to Fiverr to get a simple piano track for every song I want to sing? More complex version of the question: Any keyboard, including these, where I can a simple or maybe even better accompaniment tracks as a solo singer. Almost always ballad style and not looking for a whole orchestra lol. Any of these where I can buy off the shelf or even custom (again maybe places like Fiverr or somewhere else) tracks for songs. I am starting simple, real simple, like Christmas songs. Don't want it to sound like midi tracks, which for me equates to a cheap toy sound. But more like a real pianist or keyboard player. Great video, I really liked it - big thumbs up 👍👍👍

@@ac-mb6gj It is heavier than maybe most - or even all ----- but having only played a spring action keyboard - non-weighted - for 10 years or so, the P-515 action really works excellently for me. The performance of those keys are excellent too. I had to haul my P-515 a flight of stairs by myself - holding it in the vertical position - unboxed of course. It was do-able ------ but was not exactly fun to do. Probably better to get somebody to help out heheh.

I like how you evaluate each instrument and gradually work your way up in price keeping all potential markets in mind. If I was in the market for a new keyboard I'd totally use this as a guide. Would you consider doing a video exploring and a teardown of an Yamaha Electone ELB - 02 I would love to see a video in english of someone exploring a modern electone! I am visually impaired and right now, I own an older generation electone from before they stopped making them available for sale in the U.S. As usual it was bought used locally and I would like to see more electone videos! The electone I just got for reference is an electone F-45 from around 1984 or so. I really really want to see what is inside a modern electone! I wonder if there is just a tiny circuit board inside or if they still are very beefy multiboard machines with crazy spinning speakers and whatnot.

I think I found my next keyboard. Donner DEP-20. Reason: budget and sounds. (Mainly because of your review) I have sort of given up trying to find a keyboard with "just what I want." I don't think one exists. But the piano sound is awesome. Organ is awesome. Strings are awesome. All the other weirdo sounds, I could care less. Right now I have a YAMAHA PSR E343....and its time to move on. BUT...before I go. Have you ever previewed any keytars? I also have a YAMAHA Sonogenic 500. If I had my way...I would rip out all the useless sounds and replace them with authentic orchestra sounds. I'd be interested in what you think of keytars and the Sonogenic 500 in particular. Thanks for all your videos.

So tempted to get the SV-2 but the decision to put delay and reverb in the same section, meaning you can have only one active at any given time, is a really poor design decision. Wish the Legend was more widely available in the UK.

Yes, I made it! I watched the whole video and I actually enjoyed watching it a lot. Your list is very interesting and gives some good hints in terms of what to buy for which purpose. One question: Do you know the Medeli SP201 Plus, and is it about the same instrument as the Inovus i88? They almost look the same (same design etc.), and would the Inovus be an acceptable instrument for a pianist who studied classical piano on a pretty tight budget?

Guitar player here. After all these year I'm thinking of learning piano. What would be a decent product that would give the most realistic "piano" feel and sound? Since I'd be leanning, not sure Id take advantage of a lot of advanced controls. In terms of budget, I'd like to stay under $1,000. Can these digital keyboards output to wired or wireless headphones?

Thoroughly enjoyed the video. I have been looking for a keyboard for my grandson to learn on and the MP11SE and Stage 3 are the 2 choices I'm torn between. Leaning towards the MP11SE even more now.

It sucks that Casio just doesn’t want to put traditional MIDI ports on any of its keyboards. I would buy the CT model instantly to control my synths with it and still have some sounds
