My fave thrift story: it was about 15 years ago (I’m 39) I was a newly single mom, almost Christmas, had hardly any money for gifts for my son. My bio dad I haven’t seen in yearsssss was gonna be in town a few days before Christmas and invited me to a super swanky restaurant. I decided I would try and thrift a dress for it. I thought to myself no more then $10! Not a penny over 10 bucks! (Saving what I had for gifts for my then 2 year old son.) I find a few things and go to the dress room. I sat my son on the little stool in the dressing room. I try on the dresses and on the last one my son drops his toy. I bend down to get it and find a wad of money. 😳 what!?! I get dressed and go to the front counter and I ask has anyone liost anything or been looking for, etc.. She says no then her eyes get big and she said whatever I found she will take and put behind the desk. I didn’t trust it. I wrote down my name and phone number and said If anyone calls looking for something have them call me that I would not leave this. I bought one awesome dress for $7, of my money. The thrift store worker really wanted whatever I had found. Smh nope. I expected a call. I would have met the person if they could’ve identified what it was and how much. Never got a call. I waited until the day before Christmas...no call. I waited a whole week. My son had an amazing Christmas that year! It was almost $600!

MORE LOOKBOOKS, MORE THRIFT VLOGS, MORE EVERYTHING !!!
The story of the shorts your grandma bought you is so sweet 🖤
I’ve been subscribed since beauty school days. The brown mule, the flannel over jacket, the blue quilted jacket, and mock neck I remember you hauling them!
“There it says dry-clean only- that’s nOT HAPPENING” okay I feel you I put literally everything in the washer AND dryer and I will never change

this.
Whenever I’ve thrifted Talbots items, they’ve always been amazing quality, fit super well, and have a vintage flair. But not like fake cheesy vintage. Like, quality grandma chic. Which is what I would use to describe my style...

Talbots and Sag Harbor are so good.
Thrifting has given me the ability to play and make my own style because I couldn't afford otherwise. I also like that I can stick it to the companies up-charging $60 for something I could find for $5 or less. 👍🏼
im pretty sure LA apparel is owned by the same guy who owned american apparel! they have a lot of the same exact stuff
Those eyebrows go crazy!!

Happy to see you back! Hope you had a lovely break & are feeling rested♥️ I would love to see more fashion videos
I love this video! Very inspiring to go thrifting and I love the throwbacks
Your denim and cord button up jacket is my favourite thing on this planet. I thrifted one almost the same but pea green a couple years ago 😍😍

@@Qcknd My mom used to shop at Talbots in the 90's when I was in high school. I went with her once and she bought me a chunky blue and white cardigan sweater that I ended up wearing for 20 years after. My mom was always trying to buy me clothes because she HATED my thrifted/handmade wardrobe. There were times she offered me cash to throw away specific pieces, especially a brown corduroy jacket with one strawberry button. I loved that jacket and it was even better because Evan Dando had one just like it and he was my dream boy at the time. haha
Hope you had a nice break! So thrilled to see those brows again 😍
So happy to see you back!
Loved this video! Your style is so inspiring, it's like these clothes were made for your exact body shape!!! Amazing!
I'm here for more fashion content!!! You sum up the feelings of thrifting so well 💕
I love love love the jacket!! And the pic where you paired it with the wool jacket goes crazy!! I love the alt vibes of it ❤️
Welcome back!!! Love the fashion content! You're so photogenic btw
I've always loved that blue jacket of yours! such a good find!
bestdressed just mentioned LA Apparel in her video today, she said the founder of American Apparel just rebranded and started the company again!
So nice to see you back! Also that blue jacket gives me life
I love this. My closet is almost all second hand now and it brings me so much joy
I have always loved that blue and cord jacket!!! I have been trying to thrift one like it for so long!
I love seeing how your fashion has changed over the years!! I’m a long time sub.
My mom actually has the same jacket. As a kid I always loved looking at the lining 😆
I love this! Some of my favorite items of all time are clothes I thrifted when I was like 15, still wearing them regularly more than 10 years on. Get yourself some beautiful classic pieces and you can never go wrong!
here for all the fashion vids. and all the others too. haha welcome back!
I am always living for your fashion videos
im currently out of state and havent been thrifting out of state. i will definitely be going after watching this! perfect timing
I look around my room and see so many thrifted clothing pieces, things with stories and things I wear all the time. I've never thought much about thrifting vs. fast fashion because it started out as being just the 'i can't afford new jeans but i bet there's something that fits well enough at the resale' and it's become a habit. You talking about resolutions and goals made me open my eyes a little more to that, thank you. Loved this video and would love more like it
This video was so fun, Quik! I'm an absolute sucker for thrift videos and finds so this was definitely a treat
so happy to see your favorite finds this is so interesting!!! love lots pretty lady
Crying at your Philly Aids diss, I LIVE for it. Most of my wardrobe is from there, I always find the best vintage stuff.
also i would love to see you do a capsule wardrobe in the spring!! bc that's the season in philly that most closely resembles the season i get all year round!!
ughhh i i loved this so much! I love thrifting in other cities and countries too! I had some major good luck in Boston too :) please do more thrifting vlogs!
Qcknd is forever my fashion inspiration ☺️🧡🧡🧡
Yes to more fashion content! I’m trying a ~no buy January~ which is going good so far but I’m dying to go thrifting
all the thrift & fashion content! 💛
The part where you talked about how thrifted vintage pieces fit often better than stuff from 'normal' stores,,,, I agree so much !! I have quite a few pieces from the 1900s to the 1980s they all fit like they were made for me. My fav being a 40s handmade wool dress.
i am SO in love with that cute panda bag and your ghost in the shell tee!!
Thank you for this video! I've decided on eco-conscious and especially 2nd hang clothing for this year. After a no-buy January. I know I need to be a little more patient while searching through thrift stores.
I’m obsessed with the idea of you doing a capsule video!
You and I have had that denim/cord Talbots jacket for about the same time. I don’t wear mine as much as you seem to but it’s something I’ll keep with me for a long time. I’m so happy to see more people embracing second hand shopping. Watching The True Cost truly changed things for me and I’m glad to see people gaining awareness to how horrific it is. Thanks for doing that as well!
I absolutely love that dress!!
You can get the elastic on the shoes replaced at a cobbler, just find s good cobbler in town. Lovely vid! I love thrift shopping
Yes please to that capsule wardrobe video😍 love you so much
I love that you keep mentioning Joanna Newsom. She's my favorite musician and your Joanna-inspired tattoos are beautiful!
Just found your channel! I also live in Philly and absolutely loveeeee thrifting here.
I missed you so much mama quack!! and plz more videos like this!
Oh hell yeah!! I would love to see how you style that white button-down shirt in a punk-y way.. I have some white shirts that I NEED to wear but i just feel too weird and "dressed up" in them on a daily basis!
Your videos just make me so happy c: Also I got my hair colored today and I showed you orange ombre as a inspiration photo
I thrifted the same denim and corduroy jacket you have a few months before finding your channel, and its really a great spring/ fall jacket! It's one of my faves too! I used to thrift weekly and i went one week, saw it, and liked it was wasnt desperate for it so left it. Went back the following week and it was still there so bought it! No regrets though. We stan a Talbots thrifted find.
that blue dress i’m drooling
Talbots is one of my favorite brands to thrift!! You have some great pieces!
oh i love you. Im from phily origionally but I live in baltimore now. Much differnt thrifting scene here. Very good vintage shops but I dont get the same deals I did in philly unless I drive out to the county. I also love a brown shoe!! Almost my entire wardrobe is second hand and this was super fun to watch. My one surprise was saying you never get anything good at the aids thrift! I have gotten so much good stuff there haha I also one time found one of my own sculptures there!!
I have missed you!!! Welcome back!! Happy New Year! Happy new decade!!

Thank you so much for having me back! Happy new year, Claire!
I'm in lovee with those shorts! you can make your own similar by unpicking a pair of standard PE sports shorts and using that as the pattern (probably add a couple of inches on top to make them higher waisted). I have a pair of navy corduroy ones and a pair with William Morris' Strawberry Thief pattern on and they are faves
Yaaasss, have not even pass the Intro and I'm so exciteeed
Glad you had a good break!!! :)
2020 looks good on you 🥰❤️
I watched this LAST NIGHT and then a lady came in to my bookstore today in your amazing jacket, side-buttons and all. I decided to not weird her out by commenting on the lining, but I did tell her I loved it when she came through my line. 🙌
Super cool! I have a handful of thrifted things, not much from high school though.
Love your makeup❤
Wow great vid! Love your vids :) and yay first vid of 2020!

Yeeee!! Thank you!! 2020!
I have a more petite build I never found or owned any clothing that really fit my body well until I started thrifting. When shopping retail I used to get so stressed because I almost never found anything that actually fit me the way I wanted, but the variety of cuts and the types of clothing I find especially from older brands are so expansive that I have a lot more patience when looking for something I like. So yeah, I feel you with that silk dress.
I WANT YOUR MORRISSEY SHIRT! I love Morrissey 😭🖤🖤🖤
I love everything about this video
Thrifting is so much fun
Qcknd I have been following you for about 5 years now... Let me tell you, you have had quite the impact on my life. I found your channel back in 2015 being a freshmen in college. You channel is like a staple in my life, you're content is very good. Please keep doing what you are doing. Thank you!!!
Why are the edits in this vid especially funny to me? Thanks for this. Also, please make a capsule wardrobe video. I would love!
Ugh I want everything in this video :'( that jacket, the shorts, the mock turtleneck, UGH. You should really start a little thrifting series where you go to thrift shops/consignment stores and do a haul!
I love this video, if you have any more ideas for videos about thrifted goodies I'd be so excited to see them!
Do what makes you happy girl, I'm gonna watch whatever you do.
Omg yes. missed ya Q!!!
i love this look!!
Your thrift videos are my favouriteeee. I rewatch them all the time because I love thrifting but.. can't go thrifting every single day of my life right😂
Yes 👏🏽 More 👏🏽 thrifting 👏🏽 content
I just found your channel and find your content enjoyable. My mom shops at Talbot for special occasions. their quality is really good - prices are rather high lol. From my experience their target demographic is plus sized woman but they do have straight sizes as well. When we shopped for my grandma's funeral we went to Talbot's and I still have my dress from there and a blazer - 14 years old. :) Your collection is really cool.
Happy new year quack! 😋💛🍾

Happy new year em!
Looking so cute and classic today
the fact that i recognised ALL of these :”)
I have this Jean jacket that I thrifted in 10th grade (it's not as lose fitting anymore haha) but I still wear it all the time and I love it!
Any wool items I have I use those dry clean bags for your drier. They come with a reusable bag and little cloths with the cleaning solution. You just throw your clothes and the cloth in the bag and put it in the drier. I only have wool coats
can’t believe that iconic quack jacket (quacket?) was THRIFTED
I found the jacket on poshmark... I made an offer -- it looks so cozy.
LOVED this video 😢
I’d love to see a video about what you look for that lets you know a thrifted item is “good quality”
THE SHEER SOCKS
I've been an avid thrifter since FOREVER! I love thrifting, I've found some amazing things. I think one of my favorite things was this Liz Claborne silk Hawaiin/vacation button up top. It's like bright red with a vacation scene printed on the fabric. amazing! I actually used to have a school uniform top exactly like yours except it was short sleeve that I thrifted and boy howdy I wore that thing all the time. I eventually grew out of it. I also have found some amazing jackets, one of them was reversible, one side was that off white faux fur stuff and the other side was like a soft rust colored fabric. Unfortunately that jacket was recently ruined along with another favorite thrifted jacket..don't really want to go into it but it was partially my husband's fault lol. I actually have not been thrifting for the last two years because my husband does not like thrift stores - his reason is totally valid - He grew up very poor and everything he had was from thrift stores. His mom never tried to pick out the nicer things, she always got him clothes with stains or holes and it really affected the way people treated him growing up. Consequently now that he is an adult and we make decent money he wants me to have nice new clothes because he doesn't want people treating us badly or thinking we can't afford nice things. I totally get it and his story actually makes me a little sad but mostly it just makes me have a different perspective. However I have talked to him about all the amazing things I have found before and how a lot of the time I can find something that might actually be better quality than some new things since so many stores sell the fast fashion type stuff, and really just how it feeds my soul to go on the proverbial treasure hunt and find something I can make my own. He totally understands and he actually went with me to a couple of thrift stores for the first time last weekend, and he is down to check more out.
the jacket goes CRAZYYYY
Loved this video idea!! Makes me wish I made videos just so I could do one of these too. If you felt like it, it would be super fun to see a similar video for your favourite thrifted / flea market home décor 😍
Talbots is awesome for classic pieces :)
Talbots is such an old person store, but I swear I always find things I love at goodwill that is talbots brand and super cute. I have a WHITE talbots shirt, that is very tight (but stretchy) and its a v neck with like a little plastic circle hole accent thing and I love it. Let me tell you that shirt is so well made, and the fabric is amazing. YOU CANNOT SEE A BLACK BRA THROUGH THIS WHITE SHIRT. I was amazed, it was like witchcraft. White fabric is literally always see-through (unless its like a hoodie or thick sweatshirt) so the fact that this shirt isn't, like blows my mind.
My best thrift find was brand new Hunter boots, in my size, and in my preferred color. I paid $20 for them and I'm never going to get rid of them, they're such good quality!
