Such a beautiful work of animation, you really captured the essence of the story while also putting your own spin on it. It feels like watching Denji's delusional fever dream of what his life could have been like, but when he opens the door, reality comes crashing though and he's reminded of how Makima ruined his life. I love the different styles of animation, and your animated renditions of some of the manga panels are superb. The music choice is also pretty bold; most CSM animatics usually use intense rock or metal, but the song you used is pretty unique in that regard, and it honestly works really well with your animatic. Fantastic job dude, gonna watch this like 100 more times real quick

Makima didn’t ruin his life, Denji had no life. It was all constructed by Makima to break Denji, he hasn’t even lived his own story yet and is just beginning now that he killed her.

I love the insane fever dream vibe so much more than the metal rock vibe that people often default to when it comes to chainsaw man. There’s obvious parallels and connections between chainsaw man and metal rock music, but I think going for a zany, colorful fever dream style is so much more powerful with chainsaw man. The author himself embraces that style with the crazy colorful covers he makes. You nailed that style perfectly and it’s amazing, judging by the music choice in the beginning of the chainsaw man anime teaser, it seems that the anime creators are also going to embrace the fever dream vibe and I’m pumped to see more

reading csm was an emotional rollercoaster and it all felt like a huge fever dream. I get why most people associate it with metal, well just look at denji's devil form, its metal as fuck and it would go really well with certain scenes really but csm always gave me this surreal vibe overall

Speaking of punk rock or music similar to it, I had a playlist with pretty much all three of these genres set up for when I was reading it and let me tell you the punk vibe also fits REALLY well

Tbh I still prefer its punkish bad boy image, although the hell devil scene and some others definitely deserve to dive head first into surrealism. I see csm as more of a rambunctious force of nature breaking norms left and right without a care in the world than actively trying to be surreal Aside from said cases like Hell

this is the best thing ive ever seen. the humorous and cosy starting really captures denji's initial feelings about being a devilhunter, he's found a family and a comfortable life, the manga starts out as being an edgy comedy but midway through the series, it takes a dark turn, just like when denji opens the door to makima

Love that the progression of this animation is kinda tied to Omori where the song came from. It seems like Denji is still dreaming about all the good time he could have had with his friends and therefor is ignoring the reality. When Makima is in front of the door the dream starts to fade and his cruel reality can be seen again, it really mirrors Omori with this visual metaphor. Really nicely done!

I can’t believe I saw this after 2 whole years, I love it so much! It gives off the same vibe when you’re reading the manga.

This honestly has been the most artisically creative and free flowing CSM fan-animation/video I have seen yet, I have a whole playlist of them and I got to say this tops everything in it. The accompanied song also adds tons to what makes Chainsaw man... well Chainsaw Man. What a great job!

This is truly the best Chainsaw Man animation I've ever seen (and I watch out for new fan animations religiously haha!) And just a stunning piece of animation in general. Your linework and sense of color are phenomenal, and the video editing is icing on the cake! I truly have no idea how you did this in Procreate, but man it looks amazing. wow that was simply magnificent and it captured the vibes of Chainsaw Man SO WELL but it was ALSO VERY CHILLING, especially when I realized the birthday party Denji was in was just a dream, not reality, and the scene was paired with the lyrics "Close your eyes and you'll leave this dream", just as Denji was opening the door - that was so masterfully done it gave me goosebumps. IDK if the birthday scene is really a dream or just an imagined scene but I guess that's how I understood it but either way this was a precious gift to all fans of Chainsaw Man.
