My Three Favorite Beach Towns In Mexico | And How They Compare

My three favorite beach towns in Mexico were difficult to choose. In this video you can learn about their qualities and how they compare. Beach towns in Mexico vary greatly. Some beaches are long and short. The sand on the beach may be fine or course. But the combination of its vibe, its feel and the town that it belongs to can fill your heart and cleans your soul.

For the most part, people there are hurting. Aside from those infected, with the lack of tourists their economy has been sparse for too long now. I plan to spend a good portion of my travel budget on tips. That won't be a difference maker but it may help for a day or two.

Hello Andy, as an American soon to be retired here in South Africa. My South African wife has said perhaps we might want to retire one day in Florida, or maybe Texas, but after seeing this video. Humm... I think if I show her the beauty that is Mexico...she just might have a change of heart, and of mind. She's a languages teacher and knows three languages fluently and loves to learn new ones. I think Spanish would be something she would love to learn...and as for me...? Well.... Hasta la vista baby!!! LOL....

Andy - it's worth visiting Diamante beach (the sand looks to be in the shape of diamonds there sometimes when the water hits it!) and the beach goes on forever there. We have seen a giant turtle stuck on the beach there being once being carried back into the water and baby turtles being released there. Water is clean and sand is beautiful and fine. Also, the Princess Hotel is amazing with flamingos, I think Swans and a big colourful Mina Bird - would look great on film.

Puerto Vallarta has a great downtown and restaurant zone alright but I found the water unswayable with those waves there which can really hurt you. Now nearby Mismaloya where we actually stayed was sweet as well as Yelapa and much easier to get into the water. Acapluco seems so high rise condoed out and the video made it look alfully crowed but I might have to try it once . Some of the Mayan Riviarn beaches like Akumal have some kind of amazing sand and water but not sure their towns match the Pacific side. Great video btw.

Acapulco has really taken a bad rap more so than any other major city internationally. I the state of Guerrero, Acapulco is the only place with name recognition. So any crime that takes place anywhere in the state is labeled with Acapulco because the media knows Acapulco sells and so will the story. I made a video on the topic which I will give the link. The video is in part tongue and cheek but offers a lot of insight on what is going on there. I have been going regularly for decades and have never had a problem. Is there crime? Of course. There is crime in any major city. Don't look for drugs. Don't go to mountain areas. Don't walk around drunk in public. Just like in any other city, these are smart rules to follow. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oqyIyZt6k86dfZM.html

I love PV (and Yelapa) - but the last time we went (Nov. 2019), it seemed a lot busier and more urban than it did on our previous visit (maybe it was because of Dia de Muertos - but as the road to Guadalajara gets better the crowds get bigger). Yes, great restaurants and many fun walks (even Pitillal), but the noise. Not a restful vacation - but a fun long weekend party before a quiet stay in San Pancho. My top pick - Puerto Escondido. The town is not yet overdeveloped and has many great neighbourhoods and lots of wonderful comida oaxaqueno. There are numerous beach options - from quiet bays (Playa Coral), good swimming (Carizalillo), to massive waves and long walks (Zicatela). And warm clear water all along the coast. The best swimming I have experienced in Mexico is at Playa del Amor in Zipolite. It is clothing optional (which is not really my thing) - but the water!!! A gorgeous bay with pristine water and gentle waves. The bay is separated from the main beach by a headland with a stunning mirador. There is even a little restaurant on the mirador so you can have a glass of wine or beer at sunset. And Zipolite is a fantastic town - the restaurants punch way above their weight - perhaps because the town attracts more international tourists. Even the hippie types are sophisticated.
