My motto is "I take a lot of pictures, then look thru them to see if I can find a photograph or 2". It's really a fun way of looking at this hobby. BTW: My torn-poster collection is getting a lot of attention:)
Love this video! Your passion and enthusiasm here is contagious and inspiring. I’m very happy for you
#1 fave channel right here. Austin looks super rad. Thanks for showing us around!
I love the XPro series. I shot with the XPro2 from launch until picking up the XPro3 shortly after it launched. I'm the straight weirdo that uses it full time for commercial work. I tether in the studio for my fashion work, then shoot product photography, then business commercial work, and then use the same damn camera for street, and family photos. No other camera made me happy to shoot for my business AND my personal family images. It's DEFINITELY NOT a way of working I would recommend for everyone, but if it's for you, then you'll know it, and you'll be so incredibly happy with this little damn creative beast. The 35 1.4 only comes off when it absolutely has to for a particular shot. And when the job requires it, I just rent the GFX for that level of clinical output. Win win. Oh and a big Texas welcome Cam!
I totally agree on having fun, sometimes I feel like my entire day of shooting was for naught but I have so much fun just taking the pictures that the end results doesn't matter in the end.

Recently sold my second X100V again after falling in love with 28mm, Ricoh GRiii has been my current daily carry 👌🏻
Man, you're an amazing photographer. The photos that you showed in this video were stunning!
Thank you for your honesty! I wish more people would speak about the little things like the viewfinder comparison since that makes a camera more useable for some of us!
Great video! Looks like you had fun making it and sometimes that all that matters. I was hoping you got some shots of the Buick.
I just got a X100v and it's so much fun:) Loving it. I put the iso and SS in auto and just rip away.
Lucky enough to have two of those cameras. The 100v is awesome, it just makes you want to take photos and makes you smile at the same time. The pro3, it’s inspiring to use, almost like it’s egging me on to push myself photographically. I feel like it’s hard to take a bad picture with either of these cameras.
I absolutely love my x100F. It makes me want to take photos and it’s fun.
I’ve owned the X pro 3 for a little over a year and it is the most inspiring camera to use for me. I use it with auto focus lenses and cheap manual focus lenses. With film simulations that I adjust to my liking I feel like I get the looks and the results that I’m looking for. It is a great camera. 📸🔥 I’ve never used the X-E4. Street photography is my jam

I’m really tempted to buy an X100V. Such a beautiful camera…
Great content! Love the x100v. What video camera was used, a lot of focus breathing ?
Thanks for the videos man, love any content you put out honestly. I just rented the xt4 and I used it with my M mount Voigtlander 35mm 1.2iii, and loooved the experience. So easy to manual focus and all that. Ive been torn on the xe4, xt4, h2s and x100v. I am also needing a hybrid for simple video with 4k60 (i just use the Komodo for pro video and the gfx100s for pro photo) so I need that portable tiny hybrid. i just want an x100v with interchangeable lenses, or just suck it up and get the xt4/h2s. I dont think the size difference is thaaat crazy.
I bought a used 'F', and then I bought the 'V' the second I could hold one in my local camera store. I have the wide and tele converters and I only use them for travel content. I've dragged this compact kit through a dozen countries and it is brilliant. The rest of the time, I just see the world through a 35mm lens now. The leaf shutter with fill flash, and the built in physical ND filter makes the X100V one of the greatest cameras I've owned in the past 40 years. My commercial work is 95% video now and I even use the V for 120p B roll. It's a beast.

I get what you mean about the X-E4. The whole X-Pro shooting experience just feels “right” to me. Feels great in the hands. Feels great when held up to the eye. I had an X-E3 and X-Pro1 and often preferred picking up the X-Pro1 even though it was older and slower. So I finally replaced the X-E3 with an X-Pro2 and I love it. I still like the idea of having something much smaller than an X-Pro, so I picked up an X-M1. I don’t have the “which similar camera should I carry?” problem now as the X-M1’s only redeeming quality is its size (truly pocketable, closest to a compact point and shoot but I can still swap lenses).
I love the car photos! Man, not garbage at all. Opens my eyes to just shoot more

Depends on where you shoot. Outside with lots of space? The 90mm would be best. Mainly head Portraits? Need better AF and weather resistance? Then 90mm. 0:30 Seeing the world outside of the frame is what you get in a rangefinder, so nothing wrong with that in my opinion. Looking at the screen is under rated from one old school guy to another, embrace the technology. Now-a-days, putting the camera to your eye can garner a bad reaction in the street. I hope to get a small camera that I can shoot just like everyone is using their phones (think GRIII orX100V) - you get less negative response during street photos IMHO.
@cammackey
Жыл бұрын
I still don’t think that’s anywhere close as the same. With a rangefinder yours still framing off your eye to see your frame.. you’re jsut getting a pre context view. Which is why the XPro 3 had a hybrid viewfinder. But yeah I can def see how putting it up to your eye for street photography could be a dilemma and certain situations
@abelardojeda
Жыл бұрын
The main reason to choose an EVF/OVF over the screen is the extra detail (you are not seeing a tiny screen (because of the distance between to your face and your camera or phone). The other reason are sunny days, definitely better to use the EVF/OVF. Third reason for some people (like me): if you use glasses for eye strain, the screen is useless, as streets photographers can’t waste time taking on and off the glasses to watch the screen and then the street over and over, thus the EVF is a better choice.
@cammackey

@@abelardojeda agreed with all of your points! I rambled on more about it but cut it all out. Pretty much with all my cameras that flip in, I keep in. I rarely take them out. I'm an old fart too who started with film SLRs and still shoots a lot with optical viewfinders, but that back screen on the X-Pro 3 was a dealbreaker for me. To me it felt like Fuji purposefully made the screen inconvenient for anyone who didn't want to pretend to be shooting film on a Leica. I do see the appeal for certain people though, I'm just not one of them.
@Reeceness

I get your point, but the screen is still there. I think the XT line is more suited for that style of photography. Hey Matt, not trying to sell you anything, but I felt the same way when it launched. I shot with the XPro2 from launch until the XPro3 came out. I was so disappointed and frustrated with the screen. And then I just bought it anyway and after a short "getting used to phase" I came to really appreciate the decision. It's not for everyone, but after I tried it, my disappointment definitely faded and I came to love it. Just my two cents with many many hours behind both cameras.
Waiting for the giveaway
Honestly I think it’s a shame Fuji chooses not to go full frame. They have more soul than the competitors and the following to back it up. It would be awesome to take the guess work out of lens selections and take full advantage of vintage glass more so than Sony. Love the heck out of their system though.

The way I see it, To Save Cash, after having gone down the following path is: buy it now, try it, convince yourself if you like it or not, and sell it. Get an x100f or v and when the XPro-4 comes out, you can buy an XPro-3 that someone’s selling frantically, for cheaper😂😂 The XPro-4 is coming and I’m certain it must be sooner than later. Based off market statistics, I think the price of the XPro-3 will fall and the X100v should stay sky-high. If they’re the same price right now, you can buy the XPro3 and sell it after you’ve experienced it; having the equal amount, buy the x100v and wait until the XPro-4! The x100v will stay just as expensive. It's thought to be the best all-around and you won’t lose money; all while having tried and know what the XPro line of cameras is like. *All of this having been said by a college student, it’s how I personally am managing my limited amount of funds. This will probably not mean anything to someone that has everything figured out, has money, and is waiting for the XPro-4. I just wanted to share my thoughts from the budgeted living point of view, where anything and everything is through third-party ofc.. Facebook Marketplace & Offerup. Maybe it could help someone dreaming to get an XPro For those, some friendly advice: Do your research and check everything before buying Anything.
