    I don't know why some people are expecting a world class old school operatic star performance from a singer who still very Young and under training? Duh a singer under training will have issues, which is why they are taking lessions to work on them.

    This is wonderful. Please post more of your students. My heart goes out to this girl for having been humiliated in front of people by a cruel teacher. Do you thing the opera houses will accept her given the way they all seem to want tiny voices without chest tones and falsetto only Eb6's?? I hope she does really well. Tell her to stay positive and let the public make up their own minds. I'm sure they'd love to hear a big voice.

    Happy to see such a brilliant soprano! She started a bit off from the beginning, too relaxed on low range, seemed like a bit nostil sound. But she found the way back as she continues to sing. Wonderful singing she's done! Hope she gets what she deserves.

    When you exercise the voice down into chest do not try to adjust the voice. just sing strong and full to the chest register and allow it to crack. It will eventually strengthen and unite more. If your middle is weak really speak that area of the voice and keep the focus of the vibration going. In time things will strengthen. Bring your head voice down low. And your chest voice up high when exercising. It will help strengthen that middle area.

  • @RadamesAida2Operalovers

    @RadamesAida2Operalovers

    Жыл бұрын

    Sorry for the late reply. KZread does not always notify me of replies. All voices should be trained the same way. Counter tenor is hard. It takes time to strengthen the head voice. The chest voice should also be strengthened, which many probably do not do. I think most countertenors are too nasal And whinny in this category. Counter tenor can be taught with a more open throated full sound. Early on I sang Counter tenor for a while. I preferred singing in tenor voice. I have some understanding how it feels. I teach Falsetto for all my male singers. And the falsetto develops into a fuller richer sound. Most counter tenors pinch the voice to get some focus. But then they limit the sound fullness (chiaro scuro). At first an open throated sound may appear weak. But in time it strengthens correctly with the right muscles working together. I try my best with my teaching. it is not easy. Many different voices, voice levels, personalities, intellects and musical intellect levels. I just got a new student. 17-year-old Male Baritone or tenor. In one week, he achieved what some would take 1 to 2 years to achieve. I was blown over. He already had an equalized full voice all voice the same in just over two octaves. I hope he can apply it to songs and arias. This beautiful young lady is very talented and very intelligent. She just gets overwhelmed by the industry. It scares her off. She is not as committed as she originally was. I keep pushing her. She does have lessons from time to time. And she has improved her weak areas. I hope she will commit to her singing no matter the feedback. You need to be hard skinned in this industry.

    Hi, do you recommend any particular warm up routine for someone who is new to singing?

  • @pmw123100
    @pmw1231002 жыл бұрын

    Congratulations young lady! Performing is more than just hitting the notes 100% core every single time! No professional singer sings exactly the same every single performance, and students can’t always predict every trouble shooting event note to note that they may encounter until they have performed many many times. Technically, I feel that this young lady is in a wonderful advanced position, and simply has to keep working on the normal discipline of technique and judgement as a physical motor habit rather than any technical criticism in her current usage. I thoroughly enjoyed her gift of self giving, and she definitely is entitled to credit for her abilities. As a singing teacher myself, I wish to offer a tiny bit of professional sharing as a gift back to her and yourself. She is only in need of disciplining two technical areas to make a major leap forward which she is obviously ready for. 1. Stop trying to “sing”. Once you trust the anatomical technique one can use core voice in any colour or dynamic to achieve what the music requires to humanise the words. Young singers often try to sound like a singer rather than simply use the instrument. Work smarter not harder. 2. The breath control is over used. It’s not about having a BIG voice, it’s about having a BEAUTIFUL voice, and accomplishing the psychology of human emotions musically. This requires integral technique of breath through the diaphragmatic pressure changes. Once she has mastered the variants of the pressure and changes, all other technical skills will resolve themselves. Breath is responsible for every sound created. Be proud of your own work with this student too, it’s wonderful to hear the success of your skills through her. She is a great talent. No need for labels and voice categories either. It’s the 21st Century. The voice can do whatever her anatomical skills allow. Versatility as a singer of colours, agilities and repertoire is crucial for success. Oh and get over the uvula size! We can’t see it; it flips backwards when the soft palate engages and really doesn’t matter what size it is, only that she has one! Any space issues require tonsils to be checked. Though a singing teacher can recognise they need checking (size and space hogs), that’s not our area to fix. It’s medical not musical! Best wishes for continued success and enjoyment.

    I wish this young singer every success as she works to free herself from technical limitations and develop as an artist . That is the pathway of a young singer after all and she clearly has exciting potential. I did wonder whether you might switch the comments section off if posting a student's singing on you tube ? Some comments are so direct , arguing about this teacher or that teacher in a way which could undermine the singer at a delicate stage of their growth. Unfortunately not everyone is thoughtful or kind in the way they express things.

    I did not touch your comments. I let you write whatever you wanted. You deleted them not me. Yet you still complain.... I do not know why you suddenly hate me so much? I find it strange that someone who does not know me or had any interaction with me is so certain of what I do or represent. You know nothing of this student and what she has been through. I am fully aware of her issues. And her strengths. We had 3 lessons last year. One after this performance. And we fixed most of her issues in this video in that lesson. We had around 6 lessons the year before. She has been badly affected by the Covid situation and did not want to sing anymore. I have pushed her to commit. But she had lost interest to sing. I told her it is such a waste of talent to give up. Her voice originally was very masky and throaty. It is much better than what she was. It was very hard to get her out of this. Her voice is not far off from being balanced. The issues with throatiness and pitch and vibrato will eventually clear up. She made an attempt at this masterclass in Italy. The performance was at the end of the Masterclass week. The teacher was very cruel towards her. And tried to change her voice. She was told her singing was too big and she will lose her voice. And that her smaller body type didn't match her sound. She contacted me in a very distressed manner. I told her to forget about what the teacher said. Forget about dynamics and just sing. I told her to sing an old aria she worked on. I suggest suicidio or Don Carlos Aria. Because she feels comfortable singing that repertoire. Verdi and the harder Arias are easy for her. She is a talented and Beautiful woman. And she will only get better. She had a very weak middle voice. I got her to work on it a lot, and it is matching up to the chest voice. For her, her singing is easy. And she is happy with her voice. She is aware of some issues. And they will balance out in time. She requested I post the video. I am glad i did it. I will post more of her in the future.

Also it kinda fits in with the whole not-accidental destruction of Western civilization, but maybe some find that far fetched.

    This soprano uses throaty singing, it seems like there is something inside her throat that doesn't allow the sound to come freely. She needs to open her throat with a natural yawn. Also, sometimes the sound is nasal because her soft palate is not high enough, or maybe she sends her voice forward. The secret is to sing back, down, like you want to sit down and relax.

I did not choose it for her. She chose it and was happy with it. And she has just enough weight to do it. I am fully aware this repertoire is better for dramatic voices. Nothing is set. She managed quite fine. She finds Verdi and this aria very easy to sing. She is best in German. As she is a German speaker. I am not a controlling teacher. My students make their own choices. I only suggest and guide. A voice grows when you push it. Singing light repertoire does nothing.

Lovely "chest" voice. Just sing on the note, not under.- "out of tune." Go back to the drawingboard. As teacher, you should be hearing this and advising your student. It is then up to her to put that into practise. It is not called "the art of singing" for nothing.

    @Noack Somewhere from what I see, she likes dramatic repertoire. And there is nothing wrong with it, but I agree she must go with lighter roles for spinto, and then to go with the real dramatic repertoire. There are a few parts which are only for dramatic voices and Gioconda is one of them. Although she did quite well, given the fact she is still developing her voice. I am curious,how old is she?
