Nina Thomas this is Jaffna Tamil, the purest accent of Tamil still spoken in the world today. Malayalam too did come from Tamil and both SL Tamil and Malayalam retain lots of old words and intonations which Indians don't.

Sri Lankan Tamil is closer to Malayalam than Indian Tamil. Malayalam and Lankan Tamil retained a lot of Old Tamil words whereas Indian Tamil lost many of them.

Indian culture is get married young, have babies young and look after children that’s why we are so young even when our children are big and getting married, even at our grandchildren’s wedding we are only in our 60s still.
