Thank you. Yes, I’m really looking forward to spending some time with the Steam Deck. It’s a beast of a machine. I’ve already got Xbox Cloud Gaming Running on it, and have set up Emu Deck with a few PSP games. It’s bloody awesome so far.

The vita will never be neglected. I think it's a great supplemental console to play the games the Steam Deck struggles to play... like Vita games. :D Unless of course you can get Vita3k working as you'd want.

Thanks. I was struggling with my voice but I was so happy to finally have the Steam Deck, I couldn’t wait to get it unboxed. Hope that came across in the video. You may struggle to get one for your trip to Spain unfortunately. There’s still quite a backlog on orders, though they are ramping up production. I actually got mine earlier than I was expecting.

@@JoeChip Hey Joe i did notice your voice was a bit hoarse did you have covid? When i had it my voice was fecked ! I had a feeling there could be a long backlog for this device, i wanted a Index VR Headset back in 2020 and could i F_cK get hold of one, ended up getting a Reverb G2 later on. Glad you got yours tho, let us all no what you think of it through your videos ;)

@@andylloyd8176 Actually no, I didn’t have Covid, though I did think that might be the cause initially. I tested several times over about a week and there was no sign of it, so I think it was just a combination of the heat, lack of sleep and the blood condition I have, which is caused by a faulty jak2 gene, and which causes me to get quite rundown at times. I’m sure you wanted to know all that 😉. I’ll definitely be making more videos about the Steam Deck. I love the thing. If you can get hold of one and you are at all interested in handheld, PC or retro gaming grab it. It’s fantastic. And Emu Deck is my new favourite app. It makes setting up emulators relatively easy and painless, which is a nice bonus.

Glad your steam deck finally arrived, my one came about a month ago. Enjoying it so far but the battery is worse than I thought it would be.

Yeah, the battery is already driving me nuts. They needed something a bit beefier in there. I got myself a portable charger so I could charge it on the go. Still not really tried it yet so I don't know how successful it'll be. It's a pain in the arse that it can't just be charge from a usb charger but then it does have so pretty powerful hardware under the hood. Have you found any useful tricks for managing the battery life?

@@JoeChip Hopefully someone makes a higher capacity battery for the steam deck, although looking at videos online the battery isn’t easily removed. The feature which surprised me the most though was probably the sound quality from the front speakers, there were even times where it gave a convincing surround effect.

@@shemsureshot LOL. I tend to use it with headphones. I have the B&O Beoplay Portal headset that I got for the Xbox. They sound great with the Steam Deck via Bluetooth. Not sure how you use the Steam Deck but there are some portable chargers that work with it. I did that when I was on holiday last week and it worked quite well. It’s extra weight, though, so I just had the charger sitting next to me.

Q3 2022 (July to September). I was honestly expecting 8t to be nearer September but it seems that Valve really are ramping up production.

It was early morning. It was beautiful and sunny but it was still quite cool. Unlike this morning, which was oven hot at 8.30am. I recorded the video last Friday.
