    Another great podcast. Re: cardigans. I have knit the season's cardigan and didn't like the way the fisherman's rib worked with the button band. I'm currently knitting a cropped version on the November Jacket and love it.

    Sosu knits is coming out with a new cardigan. It looks to have some brioche. I’m looking at the Magic Dots tee and Spring Green tank for summer. I’m an hour east of LA and seem to knit mostly sport weight. I am amazed at how much knitting you are able to get done AND work full time plus just living. Even being retired I’m busy as heck and I try to knit every day, but best plans don’t always work out. I’m trying not to buy any yarn until Flock in Seattle this summer and Sacred Sheep in the fall. It’s hard!

    I agree with having fewer wips. I am starting the Garden Cardigan by Ankestrick and the Slightly Sassy V by Aimee Sher next week. Need to push to finish my Straw Cardigan and Vertices Unite before that though.

    I want to cast on the Le Pouf Cardigan by Hedgehog Fibers, it’s free… but I don’t love the body silhouette so I’d probably end up modifying it. I love the poofy sleeves, and I especially love the fade! Haven’t decided yet if that’s what I’m gonna do with all my Ruby & Roses Taylor Swift yarn yet or not

    the riley tee will be so nice for spring once you get the extra yarn. i've never knit with linen before but i'm interested to see how it works up. i live in australia so i think our climates are similar, and i've been thinking of drying some more summer weight yarns.

    I’m working on the Tombo Tee by Florence Miller at the moment. It’s my first time doing stripes and it’s been quite a steep learning curve 🤯 but I’m enjoying it and every time I learn a new technique in knitting I feel like I can take on the world 😂

    I was thinking that you could convert your Farnham sweater into a tee so you could get more wear out of it this summer.

    Hi Leslie! Thanks for the spring update! I’m working on a few projects right now, but I don’t know whether they are your style. I’ve almost finished the Feur (Fire) top by Eva Miehe, and I’m anxious to get started on the Adriata tank by Joji Locatelli. I admit I’ve also struggled to find cardigans I’m really interested in knitting, especially since CA has been warmer overall the past few years. I hope you find one you like!

    Joji Locatelli has some nice cardis, but most are in lighter weight yarns (fingering/sport). I also really love Isabell Kraemer's patterns. All the ones I've knit have such a great fit. Good luck!

    I am just starting to try knitted garments. Also being in Southern California where it is hot, I am trying other fibers. I have been stalking a lot of tank and short or sleeveless tees that I can layer for work. Eventually I want to try a cardigan but I want to start more simple.

    I've made some summer tops out of sock yarn before, including the Mini Mock Neck Tank! I've never found that the wool bothers me in warm weather. Sock yarn is meant to be breathable for feet, right? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I also love the idea that you could call your new cardigan cast on your Cardigan Cardigan 😂

    As a Swiftie have you considered knitting a folklore inspired cardigan? Lion Brand has a free pattern on Ravelry and I think Sewrella has a version as well. As for tees, I'm on my second Tolsta Tee by Rebecca Clow and am already planning another! There are directions for DK and fingering weight as well as a doc with modification suggestions.

    My dad saw your Riley tee on the screen and said “that’s so cool” 😂. For half fisherman’s rib cardi, Sarah of Noelle Knits is releasing the Hannah Cardigan My Size in the next week. I tested it for her and I’m obsessed with mine. Also, what was it about the Heavy Merino that you didn’t like and have you done any blocking on it? One of the girls from Two Purls in a Pod got the heavy merino for her boyfriend’s zipper sweater and she HATED it at first. But once the project was done she loved it and said it was the perfect choice. Obviously that’s a very different sweater from the seasons cardigan though. I hope to try that yarn one day but also nervous bc I’ve heard so many different reviews 😅

  • @knitcalifornia

    @knitcalifornia

    2 ай бұрын

    Haha your dad is my new favorite person 😆 I’ll have to check out the Hannah Cardigan! The heavy merino just had a rougher hand-feel when I was knitting it than I liked, and I got super bored with the gray color that I picked. I haven’t blocked it yet and I keep thinking that I should to decide if I actually want to DNF it or if I should power through and finish it. I think also different colors feel a bit different? I used the same yarn in a different color for a different sweater and it didn’t have the same hand-feel quality as the gray, so idk it was weird!
