My Snap On KRSC430 Service Cart Showcase and Video Inventory

So. I have some spare time at work and just rearranged my service cart at work and realized I should take a video inventory of what's inside of it.
So, here's my Snap On KRSC430 sliding top service cart I got used from my dealer for a $500 discount

    A very good cheap option for prybars if you don't need longer than 25 inch is believe it or not, Hyper Tough from Wal-Mart. The red handled ones with the striking caps are rebranded made in the USA by Wilde and the 25 incher is only $10. Very stiff, thick steel.

    I do too. Honestly there isn't really any upgrade I can go service cart wise than this. Sliding worktop with extra storage? Flip tops sacrifice a working area. Only thing I could want is an area to stow prybars, but that would increase the width and doesnt exist without sacrificing drawer space.

    I wheel it around the shop when I have to, but I usually linger within 2-3 bays, and if I do that, it sits centrally. I have a larger Homak that just sits in the back empty, with some odds and ends stored inside (currently storing a valve train) but I do haul it around the shop with all my tools in it. It has even more now, so I need to do an updated inventory video and of the small upgrades I've added to it

    Thats a goddamn good price. My dealer keeps telling me 'trade it in man' but there literally is nothing else better than this service cart. Im having him track down the monitor mount for their Integrated Diagnostics Cart which is based off a similar chassis/split top so I can add a monitor

    That'd be the radio station the boss leaves on. Right now it plays Christmas music constantly. I am strongly debating putting a pick through my ears But for now, I wear my hearing protection with bluetooth turned on for my own music. Sweet respite without the repetitively played songs .

    Wow someone who actually has the makita high torque 1/2! Hardly ever see these, usually it’s that red junk (; what do you think of yours? I love mine so far! Had it about 6mo now.. also have the makita 1/2 low torque/stubby, and love it too. But the big gun has some serious torque. Accidentally broke a 3/4 bolt just the other day in about .2 seconds lol

  • @goinhot9133

    @goinhot9133

    What do you like dislike about the high torque? I like how the bottom where the battery goes , has a little flex . Less likely to break off at the bottom of the handle.. I also like how the gear case, the bolts holding it on go threw the plastic and into the metal, not the other way around like other brands. I also like that it comes with the molded rubber boot on the front.

    I like my Makita. I went with it because I already had a few other Makita powered tools from when I worked Low-Voltage Installation, and it was cheaper to stay in the family than go over to Team Red and have to need a NEW charger and NEW batteries. But I did go with a few of the M12 family line since there isn't any equivalent on Makita's end. Even at 740 ft lbs, it's plenty strong for the light-automotive work I do. The Milwaukee has what? 1400 ft lbs of breakaway torque? Excessive for light-duty automotive work. Maybe in Ag and Heavy duty it would edge out, but for passenger cars and regular trucks? 740 is PLENTY. I've rounded off a bolt with a six-point socket (It also was frozen in the bushing so.....) And the flex at the bottom is an antivibration mechanism, since vibrations are battery-killers for these. It's a nice tool and alot quieter than pneumatics, which my boss runs. You can easily tell in the shop when I'm removing a wheel and he's removing a wheel.

    The Swiss Mechanic 740 fastening 1180 break away for makita, Milwaukee 2763 fuel m18 is 700 fastening 1100 break away, but the 2767 is 1000 & 1400. But yeah , when I first got the makita I thought , yeah that’s a weak point, look it’s already moving. Then I read more up on it and no, not a fault it’s a feature lmao. Most people don’t know but makita has a larger tool line up for 18v then Milwaukee. I just pick on Milwaukee because it is just a name that is being used by a parent company to sell Hong Kong Chinese sh!t. I hate how the real Milwaukee tool company, built some super solid stuff, goes out of business and sells the rights to the name to a foreign outfit, who then uses the reputation built by the American company to sell there stuff. Plus all the marketing they do drives me nuts. Preferably I go with brands who are single owned companies, who aren’t just a brand under the umbrella of a giant corporation who’s just selling you the name.

  • @theswissmechanic

    Depends on the industry and consumer focus. Milwaukee does have more focus in the automotive field than Makita does in their tool lineup, and Makita has a heavier trade focus. My box has both Teal and Red simply because Makita doesn't have any electrical ratchets in their offerings, and the square LiPo battery packs are not conducive to working in tight areas. But in the end, theyre also cheaper and better than buying the Tool Truck version of the electrical ratchets/automotive power tools

  • @goinhot9133

    @goinhot9133

    The Swiss Mechanic agreed, glad Milwaukee finally made a long reach ratchet. Makita makes a ratchet too, but it’s kinda hard to find. I just bought a Milwaukee corded recip saw, the tool seems okay but the case is super flimsy. Also got the makita corded high performance 4.5 angle grinder, and it’s super powerful. Definitely recommend it..

    I used to keep them up there. But they'd get buried under paper towels, paper work, other things I'd throw in there and I got tired of digging them out. Saw another video on the KRSC430 where they had their sockets in the first drawer and easier to get to them instead of constantly digging them out.
