Thank you for your video! Here in singapore, im not too sure if its a chinese tradition or not. However, it was told that we should not buy shoes for others as it signifies us wanting to send them away from us. So it’s always a good idea for the receiver to give the gifter a small token such as $1 to show that the shoe was not given for free, but “bought” by the receiver.

Omg! My mother said the same. There was a time I bought shoes as a gift for my boyfriend (my husband now) when I told her she scolded me and I need to ask at least 1 coin from him. He agreed, he says no problem its just one coin hahaha. By the way I'm from the Philippines and my husband is Japanese.

Thank you for sharing, I found it very interesting and informative. At our house, though we live in Wales, UK, we have a German tradition that on December the 5th we leave our boots in the doorway for St Nicholas to come and fill them up with chocolate and sweets. The tradition stems from the story of St Nicholas leaving money in his poor neighbours daughters shoes so that they could have a dowry and get married. Again, thank you very much for the video!
You explained all the intricates very precisely 💕
Great explanation on the shoes. Mules are slip on whether they have an open toe or not. 'Slippers' are shoes worn in the home, often casual and comfy. The toes peep out of a peep toe shoe. Wedge is continuous heel varied height but this could also be platform. There are now many faux leather shoes. Which shoe shape is best for foot health? Do you get your shoes repaired? How do we know when a shoe is no longer wearable?
In the Czech Republic during Christmas time, daughters stand with their back to the door, they throw one of their shoes towards door, then they turn around to see if the toe points to the door or not. If it does, the girl is likely to get married next year and she will leave her parents’ house, if not she will stay. That’s our tradition connected with shoes 🙂 but I think that not many families do this anymore, it’s more like a fun activity for kids at school before Christmas just to teach them those traditions. This was a great video. I always had a bit trouble learning the categories in English to easily find the right shoes online and this video really helped 🙏 Thank you 🙂

Hi Ma'am, I've been following your video since last few days. They're very educating. I am from India, and in our country shoes are to be left outside a house before entering it. It's not mandatory but we do follow it as a social norm and a sign of respect. I like stiletto heels but they're so uncomfortable to walk with. I always trip and do not experience grounding when I wear heels. I am always conscious and that takes away the grace that I otherwise have while walking. That's why I have started wearing flats now but I really love heels. Could you help me in this?
