haha yeah its definitely way harder nowadays unfortunately especially for new grads :( but I have a few friends who just graduated and were able to find jobs without that much difficulty so I still believe its possible!

Yeah I feel like nordstrom was really trying to scale online and hire software engineers so it was def a lot easier

good question! i left premed because 1. I couldn't afford the huge debt that comes from med school, 2. I did not want to waste my 20s studying/grinding school and 3. I wasn't passionate about it. If you do it for the money, go into tech :)

I think taxes and deductions in NYC is almost 50% :(

​@@CodeRay Fun fact: if you were in the HQ in the bay area, the after tax pay is pretty much the same (NYC is higher by 2-3k difference after taxes). Both places effectively tax at ~39% for 280k income. Since stocks / bonus make up a significant portion of your income, your actual paychecks will be roughly 9k / month.
