I was sent a ShockFlo EVSE to test and promote on my channel as well but opted NOT to refer to my viewers as it suffer issues that could leave you stranded without a charge and/or give false indication of charging on the EVSE itself. But in regards to the amp adjustment the Rivian can adjust, but ShockFlo requires the creator to mention that option since not all EV's can do it. Sounds like you know your stuff and why it is needed. But I will mention it for others that don't. If you can't adjust the amps in the vehicle then the EVSE (charger) should have such adjustment in order to prevent overload on certain lower rated outlets.

Some thoughts -- a lot of nit picks / non-issues like tire wear from aggressive driving and wife not easily able to enter vehicle at high height setting (where the height issue is obviously solved by the adjustable height) -- like others have said, it's probably not okay to use the RV park electricity -- a lot of commenters here buying into FUD sold by fossil fuel industry; EVs are good for environment, but require moving to cleaner energy for maximum effect, and each will take decades to complete so starting now a good thing; both are already happening -- EV trucks lose like 50% range when towing, but so do gas trucks; this is an EV shortcoming because generally total range of an EV truck is only 300, where a towing gas truck will have a crazy range like 600+; this is a real issue that will remain unless battery production gets cheaper, but long distance towing is a niche use case so impact is low.

As a shareholder, thanks for putting up with all the aggravation of owning your rivian vehicle. Rivian may be a little overpriced and lack lot of features, but it's early. Routine things such as truck bed cover working; driver assist and apple play, may not be perfect now but they're just little annoying things. Rivians may have more flaws than other BEV makers, such as Tesla and Ford. But if we don't get early buyers like yourself, Rivian will never get the traction needed to become a mass production BEV seller

Wait until you need a $30,000 battery or it just randomly burst into flames taking your house with it like happened to a couple that was loaned an electric Mercedes by the dealer as her gas Mercedes was getting a repair. It was not even being charged at the time. Or how about the electric car that randomly burst into flames taking the other 499 on the ship with it and destroying the ship also. The stories of these cars catching on fire is endless. My electric scooter almost burned down my house when it was being charged and let me tell you its hella scary and toxic and I thought the smoke might kill my pets until the house was aired out. I bought another electric scooter but I am very leery and cautious of it.

@@NoNORADon911 You are exactly right they are "STORIES". Most of them are FUD. Statistics have shown that EV's are about 20 times less likely to catch on fire than ICE vehicles. You just read the headlines, instead of the whole article and follow up articles a few days or weeks later when investigations are completed. If the ship incident you mention is the only one I know about then the fire was not caused by an EV. The media needs click bait and you have fallen for it instead of doing complete research on your own. You have been manipulated by the media, believing the FUD. Why would one need a $30k battery? I have a 10 year old EV with 200,000 miles on it. First battery. There are more like it out there. A replacement battery is most often covered by the manufacturers warranty that commonly lasts 8 years and at least 80k miles, some EV's have unlimited mileage. An ICE vehicle commonly has 3 years 36 miles and then you're on your own. A transmission easily costs $5k, an engine $10k and yes, they do fail. I have worked in the automotive industry for almost 4 decades and have replaced many engines and transmission and done many repairs on ICE vehicles on components that are only found on ICE vehicles. I would never go back to an ICE.

I decided to get a Tacoma over a Dakota. Simply because the Dakota has issues at around the 60,000 mile mark. Whereas the Tacoma's known to go 300,000. To see this vid of a vehicle having issues at 15,000 miles is pathetic. That's basically the break in period for a Tacoma. Yup, no thanks to EV's.

Tire wear could be reduced very easily. Cars have had ABS and anti-spin forever, the logic for anti-burnout would not be that much harder. This is a truck, not a racing machine. Torque to the wheels could be set using speed, weight and other parameters so that tire wear would not be a problem. Even slippery roads should not be that hard to detect. Phone integration? I would prefer not. A key fob with three buttons... even two, would be just fine.

All the things you mention are in regards to tire wear are considered. But when you floor the pedal on a heavy vehicle like the Rivian with race car acceleration, then there is tire wear. EV's have full torque and horsepower available at all times and if the driver takes advantage of that the tires will suffer regardless. There are many people that change the settings in EV's that will limit acceleration so they don't drive it like they stole it🤣 And many others just drive it easy and get the tires to last as long as on a comparable ICE car. The Rivian offers some many settings in regards to driving, acceleration and suspension that it takes a little time to find the right setting for the your needs and thus the tires may suffer until then.

@@freshlycharged Ok, so what you are really saying is Rivian should fix your driving? Really the whole premis of your video is rivian should fix this. However, you point out the tire wear as a problem they should fix while at the same time saying you want the thing that causes the problem.... maybe make up your mind? Other comments indicate Rivian has already done the work, which to me says you have chosen to bypass these things. So even mentioning tire wear on a video about Rivian should fix this is just plain wrong.

Rebuttal to your gripes: #1: You leave your vehicle unlocked and blame the manufacturer for it being stolen? Lock your car if you don’t want it to be stolen. #2: It’s a Truck, it is high up. It has a setting to lower to truck when it is parked, use it. #3: Fair, the charging pad sucks. Most horizontal charging pads suck. #4: I don’t know what your complaint is? The centre console is too large? If you can’t find anything in the centre console, don’t put so much shit in it. What exactly do you want Rivian to fix here? #5: Alexa always sucks. And? #6: Yes CarPlay would be nice. #7: You want to be able to break the law and speed? 90mph = 144kph, that an insane speed unless you are on the Autobahn. #8: You complain when your car doesn’t drive for you. It is a car, drive the car. Self driving is in its beta testing, why do you expect it to be perfect? #9: You are padding the number of gripes, this is a repeat of #8. What specifically is your gripe? #10: Repairs are expensive, legit. You intentionally damage your vehicle and you know it will be expensive to repair? That is a you problem. Maybe don’t intentionally rake branches along the side of your vehicle and complain about how much it would cost to repair it? Just a thought. You knew it would be expensive to repair and protected it against your intentional damage. What exactly is your problem? #11: CCS charging is a problem, that is not Rivian’s fault. They are joining NACS. 99% of EV charging is at home. If you can not charge at home and public charging is not available, maybe don’t buy an EV right now until you can reliably charge. Do some research before you spend $100,000. Stealing power from an RV park is not the answer. Please don’t commit crimes. #12: Fair, the Tonneau cover is a problem. #13: Again the Tonneau cover is a problem, move on. #14: Slow down, you don’t have to burn rubber every time the light turns green. Try not being a reckless driver, and you won’t have to replace your tires as often. #15: It is a smaller truck, it is what you bought. If you need a larger truck, then buy a larger truck. #16: Fair #17: Fair #18: Legit, it is definitely annoying
