There some great dialogue in Bottom. The Young Ones feels more fixed in the early 1980's, but Bottom has this otherworldly element to it. The Clothes and sets look more a mix between two time periods, but Bottom still feels like the show could be on TV today, but obviously the BBC would significantly water down the tone and offensive nature of the show.

Very true, bottom could be set today with it's ageless look

He was actually cast to played peeves in Harry Potter but they didn't end up using him which is a shame cuz he was the perfect casting for peeves

Awesome collection! and all VHS too :) The first thing I saw of Rik was Bottom Live 1, oh man that was and still is the greatest thing I've ever seen :D I laughed so hard throughout. So good :)

Rick Mayall is classic. He also did The New Statesman, A Britcom about crooked politics of British Parliament. He also played minor role of Black Adder, season 1episode 1

I still have those programs somewhere, though they have seen better days. I also had a Bottom "Run Like Fuck" t shirt and a mug from the "Arse Oddity" tour, but my dog snatched the later out of the kitchen and scraped it to buggery on the patio. I had to throw it out. 😞 I was so disappointed with Carry On Columbus ; Rik featured heavily in the marketing, but he's only in one scene... luckily, it's at the very beginning, so you won't have to watch/fast forward through the film to get to it.
