Wonderful video. I appreciate the point of view and honesty. I am getting one for my daughter and this will be a new system. We’ve been using Alber Twion wheels for years and are hoping this will be a bit more durable. Thank you for putting this together!

Good on you young lady! I went with my Brother, Chris, this morning, into Perth, Western Australia, and had a demonstration of a Smart Drive...... Wow! but bugger it.... I need a different wheelchair! However, the Australian taxpayer will have to foot the bill. Cheers, and please stay well! 😀 Tony Buhagiar.

The very fact that you had to put it down because it's heavy should be one of the drawbacks of it. The FreeWheel is what you want if worried about casters getting caught in sidewalk cracks because it lefts the casters up off the ground and replaces it with an 8" X 2" wheel.

Thanks for this honest review! Do you think you can get on video the "running into the wall" problem with the smart drive? And what to do if if it happens

I ran into the corner of a door once due to the lip on the door jam. I almost flipped out forward, I dropped my service dog’s leash and she jumped out of the way (good girl). You just tap that bracelet as quick as you can and brake your wheels. Holding snd braking your wheels is usually not enough to stop. I talk with my hands and that’s been a problem. Lol I was on one side of a desk the car dealer on the other side when I got excited snd the chair started pushing the desk. 🙀 tap tap quick

@@Gimpinalong I am so worried about the "talk with my hands" problem!!!! I had better ask for a footplate that will protect my feet if I run into something!

Hi nice to meet you! Ive been damaging my shoulders in my manual chair actually recently and may need some operations to set it right. I’ve been really curious about how does it work when you want to turn? Do you have to stop to motor or do you have to make realllllly big wide curves to turn?
