Hello Alison. Yes that looks like a very very nice violin. I have the cilio 500 and after adding some upgrades to it it sounds really nice. I do plan on upgrading my violin as soon as I get through most of the lessons that you have. I'm just now starting through your song books got a few of the songs going through being able to look at the notes ahead of time and being able to play them. I as I begin to get more proficient than I want to upgrade my violin and get one that I'll be using for a very long time. I've been talking with a gentleman here in the US that every once in awhile I see and he watches me play to make sure that I'm keeping up with what you are teaching to make sure that I am not going off track. From what I can remember, there isnt a lot of difference, but the OB1 was a little muted compared to others.

Curious now how this one stacks up against the OB-1. Been wanting to get a violin for almost a year now but everytime I looked on their site the fiddlerman ones were always out of stock 😖

I prefer these to the OB-1 - Just my preference. The OB-1 is a fine violin, but these have a more focused and clear sound in my opinion.

Hello Alison,,, thank you so much for your videos, they are so helpful and informative,,, I love watching them all. I have a Fiddlerman Concert violin which I am practicing your lessons 1-10. However, as a beginner right now, I'm finding the tone of the Fiddlerman Concert so bold and overpowering that it's almost unenjoyable for me. Even using a mute, I find the tone very bold. But watching your review and demo of the Tower Strings Legend violin, it sounded much more toned down compared to the Concert. Do you think the Tower Strings Legend violin would be a good alternative if I was looking for a more mellowed down tone vs. the Concert violin? Thank you!

You might just change the strings to a set that is known for being less bold. Contact the shop and ask for a recommendation, I'm sure they would love to help you. 😀😀

Thank you so much for your tutorials and reviews, they have been a HUGE help for me as a new violinist. What is your opinion on the bow quality with these Tower violin packages? (Trying to decide if I should get a separate bow, or if the one that comes with the Legend is good enough not to need to worry about that for now.)

I think they are fine and not worth upgrading without the violin following suit. When you upgrade to a much better violin, then I would say its worth upgrading the bow separately.

No, The Tower Strings violins are the Fiddlermans budget violins. I would consider these if your budget is quite low, but you still want something that is decent for a cheaper violin (over the really crappy Amazon $50 violins)

Hello there Alison, amazing work as always. I have a question regarding about the Legend model violin. Which model of Fiddlerman series violin is comparatively similar to that 'Legend' violin?

I am planning to purchase this violin. Would you recommend the upgrades of the Fiddlerman strings as well as the carbon fiber bow? I watched your video on bows and understand bows are quite personal but am not sure whether a carbon fiber in general has any advantage over a Brazilian wooden bow other than I live in a desert so wood can be a challenge to keep in shape over the long term. Thank you for your great videos.

Im not terribly keen on CF bows as I just don't find they have the same movement in them. As for the strings, I cant really comment as I haven't compared them im afraid.
