I have never had a clear reason not to be interested in Jimmy Akin but the program I just watched saddens me. Thank Daniel for your insight and logic when it comes to this issue. Let's all pray for anyone who believes, follows or promotes false teachings. This is exactly the devil's goal in causing division. We all need to pray for each other in knowing the truth. Jimmy is waaaaayyyyy too obsessed with science fiction and fantasy entertainment. I used to be as well. I’m still a fan of those genres but I’m still able to correctly compartmentalize them as entertainment. It’s not real or plausible.

Not just sci-fi, but with “logic.” He reminds me of someone that tries so hard to be logical and unbiased, that he loses himself and becomes biased. I feel that he lacks the ability to “let go” and trust in what can’t be proven.

Chad Ripperger Ive been made aware of what to look out for and what is the TRUE teachings, especially in his talks on Mary, the unique and singular Holy Mother of God and her roll in the plan of God….Perhaps a discussion between you two is in order…some of these men of the church who have risen to popularity are in great danger of falling into the trap of pride due to their knowledge…we all are in danger of becoming our own gods

Well said. I learn too from Fr. Ripperger. I stopped following other “well known” priests as some of their views are just that. Their views and not based on the Catholic teachings. One well known justified his grandmothers suicide and stated she did not go to hell. Doesn’t that give the green light to some struggling? I trust Daniel . He speaks truth and never leads anyone astray.

I spent YEARS studying Catholic Answers apologetics produced by Karl Keating, Patrick Madrid, Jimmy Akin and others, and I am very grateful for the solid foundation that I received from them. However, I have never understood Akin's obsession with science fiction.

I too have had problems with the way Jimmy has argued certain points. Sometimes they are just way out there. This is a perfect example. Does he not understand they are demons? Thank you Daniel for rebutting his argument.

I used to listen to Catholic Answers radio broadcast in the car, but had to stop after realizing that the reason I (a 60 yo life-long Catholic) was feeling uneasy was because of Mr. Akin’s condescending tone when answering questions. I have sinned, and unfortunately I continue to sin. However, I believe that this gift of my Catholic faith has resulted in a well-formed conscience, so I trust the Holy Spirit when He says, “Nope, don’t listen to that”.

In that same podcast he also framed freemasonry in a somewhat positive light claiming much of the negativity around it is due to superstition. I agree with a whole lot of what the guy says and he's a lot smarter than me but I find that very alarming

@@SaintJoseph911 yeah, he made denigrating remarks referring to Dr Taylor Marshalls book, "Infiltration", as not having any proof. I read the book and Taylor does lay out proof, as Fr Murr does in his book , "Murder in the 33rd Degree". I recommend both books!

Jimmy will endlessly scrutinize every detail of quotes about such things as the 3 Days of Darkness or the Warning in **every conceivably possible** way... yet with aliens, he appears to simply take on blind faith this bogus claim that JPII voiced belief in them! (This, despite the fact that this completely unsupported JPII quote undergirds Jimmy's entire argument against me re: the Catechism)

When I was going through my profound conversion and doing my consecration to Jesus through Mary the very first time, I was also in the process of giving up 20 years of very bad mortal sin. During the last week of the consecration, I experienced sleep paralysis. It was easily the most terrifying experience of my whole life. I could feel something sitting on top of my chest shaking me. I couldn't open my eyes, move or speak. I managed to mutter a Hail Mary, and by the time I got to "Jesus" in the prayer, it instantly stopped. Some secular people chalk sleep paralysis up to bad dreams or even aliens, but I have no doubt that it was a demonic attack. I was actively trying to give up my sinful life and give myself to God, and "they" didn't like that.

Jimmy is the one who made my foundation in Christ strong and Daniel is the one who introduced me to the mysticism of our faith. I can see how wrong it can go when the church introduces something outrageous. This will trigger a great split in the church and people will choose the one that is easier to understand and has practical benefits. Jimmy Akin's mysterious opinions.

What Jimmy was missing most, in my opinion, is that he was reading more into the "spirit" of the Catechism, rather than the black and white words. Everyone should know, the doctrine of infallibility and the teaching authority of the Church doesn't apply to the "spirit" of anything, but rather to the "letter" of what is declared and published by the legitimate Magisterium.

EXACTLY what I was thinking. I’ve tried to share the Kolbe Center (Hugh Owen) with Jimmy because I was floored by his belief in evolution. Jimmy was an instrument in my conversion, I love him dearly. Jimmy is wrong with some of this stuff though. Daniel is wrong in some areas too (in my opinion); but not with this one! I love Daniel, keep at it brother.

Daniel.. I like to tell you something that happened to me when I was in my teens. One night I was awakened by multi colored lights shining through my bedroom window. When I got up and pulled the curtain to the side I was expecting to see an ambulance but instead saw a flying saucer hovering right over the oak tree next to my window. I freaked out and jumped into bed and covered myself with my blanket shaking uncontrollably. Then they telepathically communicated to me that they would be back the next night at the same time. The following night came and I remembered about the previous night which I forced myself to believe it was just a nightmare but I remembered how they said they would be back. Then, around 11:45 or so the lights shined thru my window and they telepathically communicated themselves not walking but hovering above the ground next to the wall of the house headed towards my bedroom window. ( I can still see this clearly in my mind) Next thing I look over towards the window to my right (the top of the bed was against the wall and the window to my right on the same wall) and one by one these grey beings with flimsy small torsos,long arms, long fingers, big oval heads,small noses,small mouths with one being taller then the rest and one had a purple cape which stood at the foot of my bed. There were at least 4 inside my bedroom and 1 outside. They paralyzed my entire body except my head which I was able to look at all of them panicked and they were able to mute me. So I wasn’t able to yell for help. I looked at the tall one next to me on my right and this one looked down onto me and smiled. But the one with the cape at the foot didn’t look happy whatsoever. Next thing you know I black out and I wake up as if nothing happened. Why they decided to visit me? I wish I knew. What they did to me? I have no clue. But the night before they appeared I began to speak to my brother in a different language that my brother freaked out and told me to stop that I shouldn’t be saying things that I don’t know what I’m saying but I told him that I couldn’t help to control it. What are they? If they are good angels I wouldn’t have feared and they would’ve advised me not to fear. If they were bad angels then what do they want from me? If they were beings from another galaxy or within our own,then I’ve been abducted and in their virtual reality world making me believe that I’m in earth but really in some simulation where they have my conscience plugged into their highly advanced system that allows me to think that I’m alive. Like the Matrix. But what do they want from me?

Indeed, these were demons. Demons can, for example, temporarily enable someone to speak a language they do not know. If this happens again, do not ever dialogue with them and do not even think about what they "want" from you. Simply immediately resort to prayer to Jesus Christ, and they will flee. Have no fear, just trust in Jesus.
