I’m on the same journey just with Islam and I wrote a quote today where someone said: I fear I’m a hypocrite . The answer he got: if you still fear,you’re not a hypocrite. Basically we’re all sinners, even the people you look at and think : their doing so much more spiritually.The key is just always working on your own relationship with God,asking for forgiveness and guidance and always repent . With overthinking you’re just drifting further away. Much love x

With wanting to give God your 100%, pray and ask Him to increase your desire for Him. Ask that you do not desire the things of the world and to help you to forsake the sinful lifestyle. Also pray that He removes the things that are preventing you to fully commit to Him and to renew your mind to view/perceive God in the right way. Also be intentional about getting to know Him - if you're no already, i suggest start reading the Bible to start knowing His character and ask questions to Him. It's clear that God really wants to develop a relationship with you which is beautiful to see. Hope this helps❤

Hey Mariammmm, thank you for sharing about your journey with God. I think when it comes to sinning I'm currently learning 1. Christ loves us so much that while we were still sinners He died for us. This means (to me) that God died for us knowing we will fall and make mistakes, it's not really about what we do but that we trust him enough to go and repent each time we are convicted of our actions. 2. Like many comments have said Paul says I do what I don't want to do (forces within us.) The only one who can help us in this is Jesus, we draw near to him and the devil will flee 3. God isn't against drinking per se. Jesus turned water into wine. Its getting drunk. God invented sex like God doesn't hate sex or people having fun, He just wants us to do them within certain boundaries. When it comes to changing behaviour God doesn't want us to go to Him perfect, he makes us perfect we go to Him as we are and then our character and behaviour is changed as we spend more time with Him and like minded people. 4. Lastly, God is not this angry guy who goes around telling you're wrong you're bad and watching our every move to punish us. Gods discipline and punishment are 2 different things. Gods discipline helps us grow and sharpens us. Jesus tooks God's punishment on our behalf on the cross. God is loving, forgiving, patient and wants to teach us how to follow him. I was reading a scripture this week that literally almost made me cry since I was also struggling with obedience and it said '"come learn a lesson about how to obey me Jeremiah 35:13 NLT ) this showed me that God wants to teach us to follow Him. He wants us to ask for help when following Him gets hard and even when it's easy and like the prodigal son He is always welcoming us home as He remembers we are just but clay and Jesus continues to intercede for us. For sure for sure the journey is so hard and sometimes it's like ahahdigmeomgovneosn but His strength is made perfect in our weakness and He is always rooting for us and cheering us on, we fall, we repent, we keep walking with Him to eternity because He loves us so much and the journey is worthwhile 💖 💙. Praying for youuuu and everyone else on their journey to God and with God ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

At the end of the day we are human and God knows that, Christianity adds so much pressure on what to do and not to do otherwise you’re doomed. We all sinners, it’s legit impossible to sin

Your transparency is so admirable thank you for sharing this with us 🤍 God knows everything about us, He knows exactly when we’re going to commit a sin before we even think about doing it. Despite our mistakes, due to His great love for us, He still blessed us with Jesus as our Lord and Saviour so that our sins can be atoned for through His precious blood (1 John 1:7). The blood Jesus shed on the cross covers our past, present and future sins. Jesus is the mediator that bridges the gap between mankind and God (1 Timothy 2:5). Being convicted by the Holy Spirit of our wrong doings is always a good thing because it’s an invitation for us to seek the Lord and repent so that we are no longer separated from Him. The issue with condemnation (which is what you might be feeling) is that it riddles people with guilt to the point where they feel inadequate and not worthy of being in the Lord’s presence but God loves you so much! He’ll never want you to be separated from Him. The enemy uses condemnation and guilt to cause separation between believers and the Lord. Continue to seek the Lord in whichever way feels most comfortable to you. Don’t put pressure on yourself to be perfect, as you seek the Lord, He’ll surely meet you halfway and can help you with anything you’re struggling with 🤍🤍

Hey sis, no matter how far astray you've gone or distant you feel from God, He is always willingly to take you back with loving, open arms. Don't let the devil fool you, making you feel that you are not worthy or good enough to return back. We're all sinners but doesn't mean we should continue to live a sinful lifestyle. It's never too late to ask for forgiveness, repent and accept Christ into your life. Worldly pleasures and materialistic things are not worth losing your soul over or perishing for eternity. One day Jesus will return, please take action before it's too late. I went on a personal journey with Christ this year, and stripped away from my social media to reduce any distractions. Best decision I ever made and I thank God for it. It's really important to be intentional, have a strong christian support system and discover/follow your God given purpose. Please read 1 John 2:15-17 - such a powerful and relevant scripture. I'll be praying for you, God bless x

Hey Mariam, watching what you said about your relationship with God really struck out and it takes a lot to realise how sinful we are human beings, that we live in a fallen world corrupted by sin (see Genesis 1-3) but know this, it takes reading the Gospels to know who Jesus is, that we understand he is our hope, our redeemer on the cross. Jesus came onto this earth fully God and fully man, living a completely sinless life, a life we CAN NOT LIVE. Do you know why he went onto the cross? To take the punishment of sin on the behalf of sinners, he went in place of you and I, humiliated, beaten yet this goes undeserved, it was the true meaning of God's grace (see Ephesians 2 and the book of Romans) . We deserve hell, we deserve eternal torment but the hope for the christian is that they don't rest on their works to save them, for the christian in the life still falls short of the glory of God but the Christian wears Christ's robe and their sin is no longer seen, and they are no longer condemned (though the christian is continually being transformed to be more like Christ to love the thing he loves, hating the things he hates, we shall take advantage of what he has done, not because it saves us but because we have seen the goodness of the Lord to not want anything else.). Please understand our works will never be enough , compare yourself to Christ and see why he's our redeemer. Read the Bible, God's word and get to know Him more. God's love is great, His love so great to defeat sin to have reconciled to him in eternity. That there's assurance in Christ ALONE, to the GLORY of GOD ALONE, that when this world shall come to an end and the Lord shall return for his own, it will be a day of joy, as there will be a new heaven and new earth and we'll have full knowledge and presence of being with our saviour and that's a blessing. Jesus understands our sin, though he was sinless, was tempted by every sin, he's not a God who has no significance or lives separate from our lives, all things declare the glory of God, in creation, nor is he a God who doesn't understand us, he created us and why he redeemed us through himself and rose again from the dead on the third day, that he took it all. Put your faith and trust in him alone.
