"I thought hearing Mustaine speak for three hours would either be really interesting or really depressing, because sometimes when you hear someone talk for a long period of time, they're actually kinda boring or they're not really what you thought they were"

You can hear Dave playing the The Leper Messiah part on the rehearsal tape from Ron Mcgovny's garage, Ron said that back then they called it "The Hills Run Red".

The first Mustaine biography is eye-opening and explains a lot of his persona. I highly recommend it.

Hey, I'm a french fan of "the art of guitare". I' m very happy you're talking about Mustaine : he survived from drugs, Metallica eviction and became MEGADETH leader with integrity. great guitarist, nice guy and a legend !!!! It's a good lyricist, too !

Speaking of technology. For a short while, Dave played a Line 6 amp! I think it was a prototype they made for him.

I believe I remember the story about the guy with the broken leg. If I remember correctly, the day after he did the hex, the guy broke his leg in a car accident. Funny thing is, I believe he physically broke another guy's leg too. I think it was a guy from Armoured Saint. The guy pushed Lars down to the ground (this was back when Dave was in Metallica) and Dave broke his leg. He told the guy not to push his friend around. I mean, he also beat up the guys in his own band from time to time back then too, so... 🤣 I'm glad he eventually straightened up. I really believe he's a good guy who deserves a lot of credit for being where he is after all the struggles he's been through. I wish that he and James could have been able to come together at some point and work on a side project. I think that would have been epic, but I think that train left the station long ago.

Great episode of JRE. I love that Joe just lets his guest speak uninterrupted for a long period of time so they can just get everything out.

Blew my mind when he brought up dave on a recent podcast and commented about his martial arts history. Was not expecting him to actually be on the podcast :) I loved megadeth and metallica so much when I was a kid. This was like catching up with an old friend that's been gone for decades.

Dave’s vocals have massively improved since his throat cancer which is astounding to me! I heard he took voice lessons to deal with the surgery trauma, which makes sense. The few tracks I’ve heard on their new album is 🔥 In the past he tells the sad story about an incident during his horrific addiction phase when he took a massive dose of either opioids or downers and slept on his left arm for almost an entire day and destroyed the nerves in his arm. He had to get major surgery and relearn how to play guitar. I am about halfway through the Rogan interview and am overjoyed at how his life has turned around and how he is in such a great place physically, mentally, spiritually etc. after such an abusive childhood with a crazed & sadistic alcoholic father and years of ensuing substance abuse! I read his harrowing story in his autobiography a few years back and it is SO compelling, I think I read the entire thing in one day! God BLESS Dave Mustaine, the Man, the Myth, the Legend!!!

This is the best way to watch Rogen honestly, just listening to someone else's recap.
