You should check out the new 4cyl Kawasaki ZX-4RR. Revs to the moon, sounds awesome and will get through the corners quicker than any liter bike. Puts out about 60-70 hp so you can really bang through the gears. At legal(ish) speeds.

I looked into that bike but I'm probably gonna stay away from sportbikes. Maybe a naked upright like an XSR900 like I used to have, or something similar to that.

Move to Texas.. nothing but long wide open roads on Sunday mornings. 😅

I feel your pain. I installed a smaller 15 sprocket in the front and you could even go to a 42 or 43 in the rear. Look for a twisty loop in a remote area where you can have some fun. Check for hazards on the first lap as you warm up the tires, then go all out for the rest of the day. But the RSV4 is really built for the track. I got myself a Supermoto for everyday fun which is actually awesome.

A supermoto would be a blast. My XSR900 was really fun on public roads. Way more so than this RSV4.

It sounds like you didn't know what you were buying. Each of your complaints is the reason someone buys the RSV4. It is a street legal track bike. The reason the RSV4 loses "superbike shootouts" is because of its fit and finish, looks, or comfort. However, it trumps the other bikes with its lap times. If it came with carbon fiber wheels like BMW and Ducati.. it would be embarrassing what it would do to them.

I was two seconds away from buying one, changed my mind. I keep thinking about that bike though. I may own one at some point.

Its a great machine. But it belongs on a track. For road use, its useless. All you got is cool factor. Its like driving a Lamborghini around the Walmart parking lot. You'd be very disappointed because it's not useable.

Disagree, I absolutely hate underpowered motorcycles. 2023-ZX-10-RR is phenomenal at any speed!!!

So true. I agree. The speed! In my younger days, that's all that mattered. Now that I'm older and wiser, I realize that speed will land you in big trouble, seriously hurt or killed.

Dude, you need a new microphone or means of recording. The in and out audio quality is a tad annoying. That aside, get a 16T and you'll feel better on your RPM/Speed needs.

I love this bike. Its amazing. Just not good for street riding unless you dont care about comfort or obeying the laws. Hahaha

If you want to hear your bike scream and want to stay under the speed limit then buy a shorty exhaust. You bought a race bike to ride around the city at the speed limit? Lmao

Well LL it sounds like the Rsv4 is a racing bike to me , as I have never ridden 1, and you aren't a crazy teenager. Maybe you and that bike don't match . Maybe you don't want your motorcycle impounded from trying to outrun whatever yall call state police, highway patrol etc. We call them state troopers in Alabama. Plus it sounds like Maybe you are at an age where seating posture and riding comfort are becoming more important to you. It happens. Sounds like you are mature . I don't see anything wrong with that. I do alot of 45 mph and 50 mph riding and I wouldn't want to be in 1st gear all the time. I don't know if you have reached cruiser age , but it sounds to me like you could enjoy a less than liter engine, and something you could be in at least 3rd gear at 45 or 50 mph. Sounded like Maybe another 900 like you used to have might work, or maybe even a 650 or 750. And it sounds like you might want to sit in a more comfortable and upright position. That's what I got out of it.

You kinda hit the nail on the head. As cool and awesome as this RSV4 is, it has its place and that place is not the city streets. I love my RSV4. It's been my dreambike since it came out. I've had a cruiser along with many other bikes. And honestly, the XSR900 was 10x more fun on the street. It had usable power and plenty of it. I'm getting a sport touring bike this summer. As far as the RSV4, its future is up in the air. I may keep it another season or two or just trade it for something more comfy and street friendly. Who knows? Haven't made up my mind yet. But the sport touring bike is for sure coming.

Change the gearing…problem solved
